It is central to the three communal heated pools (Mid April - Mid October) which are only a minutes walk away. There are sun loungers and umbrellas surrounding the 3 pools which are free for guests to use. Two of the pools have separate childrens pools.
It has contemporary furnishings throughout, with a choice of two outside terraces in which to enjoy 'al fresco' dining. Both the lower and upper terrace's have a stunning 'rattan' dining table and chairs for your comfort. We have provided a 'Weber' charcoal bar-b-que which is perfect for cooking in the sun!
The property is furnished to a very high standard and is equipped to comply with the requirements of a 5* resort, including Siemens kitchen appliances and a 40 inch Sony flat screen television and Sony dvd player with a selection of DVD movies for guests to enjoy.
The master bedroom has a european king size four poster bed and there is a lovely terrace off the master bedroom, complete with rattan table and chairs where you can enjoy the late afternoon and evening sun with a glass of local Portuguese wine, in relative privacy. There is also a wall mounted Sony television in the master bedroom.
A log burner has been installed to provide a wonderful addition, during the colder months, to the luxurious lounge area with the wonderfully comfortable 'L' shaped sofa, which is perfect for lounging on.
House Equipment: is available which includes: tennis rackets and a selection of board games and DVD's.
Kitchen Equipment: The Kitchen is equipped to a very high standard which includes a Siemens dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and a microwave.
We have endeavoured to create a kitchen 'like home from home' as I love to cook, therefore it is well stocked with dishes and cutlery.
In Praia del Rey as you enter the resort, there is a Tennis Academy with 7 tennis courts to use (a small charge applies). A tennis professional is also available for private lessons. In Peak Season a children's Tennis Academy is available. We have provided some tennis racquets for our guests.
During the summer months, the on-site children's activity centre 'Funpolis' offers a varied programme of events for children including bike hire for both adults and children at very reasonable rates.
The resort is a 55 minute drive north from Lisbon airport and a two/three hour drive south from Porto airport. The resort lies between the quaint fishing town of Peniche, the walled medieval village of Obidos and the lively market town of Caldas da Rainha.
Along this coastline fine, sandy beaches shimmer like silver as they are washed by the Atlantic. Cliffs, coves and quaint fishing towns dot the coast: orchards, vineyards and tranquil, historic towns and villages are scattered throughout the countryside. It really is a wonderful destination.
Obidos, a jewel of Portuguese heritage is an enchanted place to visit, it is encircled by a ring of medieval walls and is crowned by a traditional Moorish castle. This a 'must see' destination. There are festivals on throughout the year, these include a chocolate festival in February and the famous medieval festival in July/August.You can hire medieval costumes and join in the fun, see our blog on our web-site for photos of us dressing up! For shopping head to Caldas da Rainha, a 15 minute drive away. It has a wonderful daily market in the centre square selling inexpensive and beautifully fresh produce from the local area.The products for sale include nuts, cheese, fruit, vegetables, flowers and local honey to name just a few.
For fishing trips and boat trips head to Peniche harbour where you can escape to “Berlinga Grande”, a National Nature Reserve which is one the preferred nesting sites for sea birds and acts as the access point to a Maneuline military fortress built in 1502.
There are also local vineyards to enjoy. Quinta da Sanguinal hosts excellent tours where you can purchase wine after your tour.
