The house was built in 1910 in a traditional French style but with a hint of the Ottoman.

Michel Pacha was Frenchman who made his fortune in Istanbul, designing the port there. He returned to France and built Tamaris, a resort for well to do Parisians looking for a holiday home beside the sea. His houses are of different designs, some large, some small. Ours is one of his later houses.

The house is 100m from the sea. You can swim from the end of the road or walk down the road to the fantastic long stretch of sandy beach, lots of cafes and restaurants and boat,kyak and windsurf hire. Churros, frites and sandwich places if you just wish for a snack and beds to rent if wanted. There is a lovely park here with summer holiday local entertainment on the bandstand, and a fairground for children up to the age of 10. Tourist information is also here. In August there is a night market every night with local Artisan products etc..

At the end of the our road is a passenger ferry (5 minutes walk from house) that takes you to the centre of Toulon or to the local resorts of Les Sablettes (5 minutes) or St Mandrier sur Mer in 20 minutes. Toulon is famous not only for its rugby team but also for its opera house and cultural attractions. You can tour the Naval port, go on the little white tourist train with a commentary about the sites, shop in the many clothing shops, go to daily food markets or visit art galleries. These are all walkable from the ferry within 5 minutes walk. You can also walk to Toulon train station in 10 minutes with trains to Cannes, Monaco,Nice one way and Marseille the other.

Behind the house one can walk up the hill to Napolean's fort or walk along the coast 10 minutes to Fort Balaghar.

This part of Provence is not like Nice and Cannes - it is much quieter and more family oriented. A bit like Cornwall or Devon in the sun - which is why we love it!

NEW for 2013- Refurbished with new kitchen, opening onto terrace and pool. American fridge freezer, double oven, heated plate drawer, ceramic hob and dishwasher opening onto the lovely terrace with plenty of seating for 12 to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner . The terrace has views out to sea. Lovely garden just below pool area with palm tress and a lawn. Also 4 new bathrooms/shower rooms all completed to a high standard with rainfall and hand-held showers in each. The house has also been redecorated. The house is large and spacious covering 3 floors with an original ornate staircase. It has a very large sitting room opening to dining room, large shuttered windows face to sea. This opens onto the terrace eating area and pool. There is a separate sitting room with a games cupboard and television with Freeview and DVD player. There is free WIFI too. There is a new downstairs toilet with granite wash stand. The first floor has 3 spacious double bedrooms, Bedroom 1 with kingsize bed, 2 sets of double doors leading onto a balcony with spectacular views to sea and a table and 2 chairs. there is a very large and stunning ensuite bathroom, double basins in granite wash stand, large shower with rain shower and hand held shower head option, toilet and freestanding oval bath. Bedroom 2 has option of 2 single beds or one large super kingsize as these beds can be bolted together. Another lovely balcony, 2 chairs and table and view out to sea. A beautiful ensuite shower room with toilet. Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds and ensuite shower room and toilet. Third floor has 3 more bedrooms, bedroom 4 has double bed with shower room and balcony with superb sea views. Bedroom 5 has 2 single beds, a balcony overlooking the pool and a lovely new bathroom with large wash stand and shower and toilet. Bedroom 6 is the smallest room with 2 velux windows and 2 single beds, small but light and cheerful!

You can park your car at the back of the house and off load your shopping easily as there is an entrance to the kitchen from here. The terrace has a new table tennis table, great for evening entertainment whilst waiting for the BBQ to be ready!

Why Mrs Joanna Elliott chose La-Seyne-sur-Mer

We love the house as it is a beautiful, spacious period house right next to the sea with views across the bay. This part of Provence is for the French, unknown by many holidaymakers and is much nicer (in our biased view!) than busy, built up Cannes, Nice, St Tropez and so on. We have always loved this area and my parents have been coming to this part of Provence since the 1950s - lovely quiet bays and pretty local towns (Bandol, Sanary & St Mandrier in particular)

The photo is of us with family friends eating at the little restaurant La Tama, just 200m away overlooking the sea. Very informal but lovely food - mussels from the Tamaris mussel beds and sea bass from the bay.

What makes this villa unique

Spectacular views, sea front location and beautiful spacious 1910 Michel Pacha house- full of History. No need for a car, lovely little ferry from bottom of road, restaurants and beach walkable, lovely to have a pool too, best of everything!

Stayed at Les Anemones for 1 week, August 2015, with Family to celebrate my 40th, both my parents 70th & my nephews 18th. What a great week!.

The owners Joanna & Matthew were so helpful from the booking, any advice needed when on holiday & on return to make sure all was ok.

The property is stunning & well kept, all bedrooms where very good size with bathrooms apart from 1 perfect for our group of 11. Great sized & well equipped Kitchen. In the basement is a washing machine that is great if you have little ones (amount of clothes they go through lol).

Outside has a great sized patio within dining area & lovely pool also being heated. So many great things to list including a barbecue & table tennis to keep everybody happy. Perfect for relaxing & enjoying family time.

You have the sea front on your doorstep (rocky but area where you can dive in also. My boys loved this). The beach at Sablettes is perfect, 20mins walk or 5 minutes bus ride (bus stop at the bottom of the house), on return from the beach you can the water bus back to Tamaris -sur-mer (this is where to jump into the sea), the boat also goes to Toulon.

Close to Les Anemones you has a nice bar/ restaurant (less than 5 mins walk) & within Les Sablettes you have a good selection of restaurants or beach bar/café's.

So much positive to say.

A lovely family house in Tamaris

We stayed in the villa with sons, daughters in law, and five grandchildren under 5. The villa has three floors, with large rooms, and everyone was well spread out all the time. The terrace is large, and the heated pool has a wonderful fixed cover. One of the children fell in, and was promptly scooped back out again. The villa is well supplied for 12 people.

The area is great. The ferry and local bar/restaurant are less than five minutes walk, and the beach at Les Sablettes is walkable with buggies and scooters! The supermarket is five minutes drive, and the boulangerie even less. St. Mandrier sur Mer - a 10 minute drive - was popular with the young, as the beach is small and not as crowded as the larger Les Sablettes.

We have already rebooked for next year.

Nice place to stay and a prolonging of the summer!

We were twelve family members between 2 and 70 years, grandparents, parents and children who stayed for a week in this great Villa.

The property was an old beautiful house, innside renewed and modern.

The owner kept in contact with us both before and during our stay, even though living in England. We appreciated that.

They provided both a cot and a childś chair which we needed.

The surrounding areas were great.

The beach was close, long and sandy. The see-temp was warm (22 C) - even at this time of the year. The children and the adults loved it. The smallest ones also enjoyed the merry-go-round by the beach. (open three days a week).

All the children loved the climbing in the Coudou Parcour park in Six-Fours-les-Plages The park had challenges for evrybody!

Back from the Coudou Parcour park we drove over the hills by the cliffs back to the villa, and had a great view of the coastline.

We enjoyed the small ferry boat to Toulon, and «the young adults» had a nice dinner at «Table et Comtoir», (mentioned in the red Michelin Guide).

The pool was very nice for the 6-8 year-olds, but a little bit cold for the smallest ones at this time of the Year.

Coming from Norway we felt as if we still had summer in October!

We do recommend this place!

Tamaris is in the Var region of Provence. Toulon airport is within 40 minutes drive, and Marseilles airport is one hour away; both have airports used by British Airways, city-jet, Easy-jet and Ryanair.

St Tropez is about an hour and a half away. Nice and Cannes are just under 2 hours away. Monaco and the Italian border are just over 2 hours away. Further afield, we are 4 hours from the Spanish Border. All these places can be reached by train from Toulon, a lovely coastal easy journey. Toulon town can be reached by a little ferry a 5 minute walk from the house and the ferry journey takes 15/20 minutes. The walk to Toulon railway station is pedestrianised and only takes 10 minutes.

Nearby: A 15 mins walk/5 min cycle from the sandy beach and seaside resort of Les Sablettes and a few minutes drive takes you to La Seyne sur Mer. Or take the ferry to Toulon, Les Sablettes or La Seyne sur Mer - it costs 83p (1 Euro) and goes from the end of our road.

20 minutes away is the lovely fishing port of Sanary-Sur-Mer. Bandol is also nearby, 25 minutes drive.

Tamaris is a quiet little resort but with wonderful access to beaches, villages, walking and boating but is also only 20 minutes from Toulon.

Our villa is just 100m from the sea - climb over the low sea wall and jump in! A little marina is 200m away.
