About Elizabeth

We have family in OH and fell in love with the area on our first visit. We love hiking and the seclusion of the cabin. It is a true escape for us.

Elizabeth purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Elizabeth chose South Bloomingville

We love the open floor plan and wall of windows. Being on top of the highest hill in South Bloomingvile provides us with unobstructed views of the surrounding area.

What makes this cabin unique

We love the feeling of an outdoor spa and tried to create this with the built into the side of the hill, hot tub that is surrounded by rock water falls. A unique feature for any cabin in the area.

Beautiful, comfy and clean!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 spent a long weekend here. Location was close to Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave(our favorite). No cell service but cabin had wifi. Our daughters had fun in the hot tub, playing fusball, ping pong and even set up an Eno and lounged all weekend! We were amazed at the cleanliness of the cabin...baseboards were spotless! Logan was about 25 minutes away which is where we bought supplies for the weekend.

Almost Perfect

  • 4 of 5

The property & cabin are absolutely beautiful with a great attention to detail inside and out. We loved the feel of the cabin being so secluded, we enjoyed the game room & board game closet, we appreciated the robes for the hot tub, even the couches seemed above par. We just wished the mattresses and pillows were given the same attention. We had such a rough couple of nights sleeping, that we cut our trip one day short. We also had to clean up dirty dishes from someone before us. (They put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher, but never ran it. Lord only knows how long those were in there if housekeeping isn't checking it as part of their routine.)

This cabin is fantastic, I can't say enough good about it.

We went here for our wedding anniversary, which is also on New Years Eve. Granted it was very cold and we got a lot of snow but it was such a great place to spend the weekend. Everything is real wood, the game room is really fun and the outdoor hot tub was awesome. We will plan to return this summer.

Relaxing retreat with great amenities

  • 4 of 5

Dolce Vita is a beautiful well maintained retreat! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all the thoughtful extras, like the plush bathrobes for the hot tub! The setting is gorgeous, tranquil and relatively private. The cabin was also spotless! The owners were super thoughtful and made an awesome quick reference binder for pretty much anything you may want to know about the cabin and things to do in the area. The two downsides to the cabin: 1.) The master bedroom is an open loft to the living room. Based on this I would not recommend for anymore than two people as it’s not functional from a privacy or noise control perspective 2.) The WiFi is like a data plan for a cell phone and can run out. We streamed music and Netflix for a day and it ran out! The cabin is advertised as having WiFi however there is a chance it might not be a available if the previous tenants used the monthly allowance. If WiFi is a must you may want to consider this as it’s not clear on the VRBO page that WiFi may or may not be available. Outside of these two aspects we really enjoyed our girls weekend in this beautiful luxury cabin.

Will visit again soon!

  • 5 of 5

Stay - fantastic. Was only there a little over a day, but we were able to enjoy the hot tub, the firepit area, games, and the cabin as a whole.

Property / Cabin - fantastic. The pictures are exactly what you will experience in person. Very remote, quiet, and the perfect place to get away from the city noise and annoyances! Great way to disconnect, but also reconnect. <3

Parks - fantastic... we took an all day hike to Old Man's Cave, Upper/Lower falls, Whisper Winds - all great waterfalls, even in December.

Drive - you will want to take an SUV or car with AWD, as the driveway is a bit steep and gravely. Also you will want to drive here during daylight hours as it's a little sketchy being in the middle of nowhere without cellular service! (arrived around 11:30PM). Also, when you receive approval of staying, make sure to read the driving directions in terms of how to enter the property - it is NOT under "Access Instructions" as we expected.

CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN! Thanks Elizabeth for such an amazing stay at Dolce Vita!!!

Very well equipped cabin in a perfect location. Quiet woods and scenic.

  • 5 of 5

The Dolce Vita cabin was an excellent getaway. We arrived and found the cabin very clean, well stocked and full of amenities. All we really had to bring was food and drinks, everything else was there. The hot tub was wonderful and prepared prior to our stay. The location is certainly out-of-the-way and we could see how it might be difficult to reach in inclement weather, but that is part of the charm of the setting. All instructions and directions were provided in the app and through email communications with the owner. We had no problems upon arrival or leaving. Great visit and I would happily stay again!

This is a rural area - one of the few left on the East Coast where there is limited light pollution. Star gazing is amazing with views of the Milky Way right from the cabin's front driveway. We are located on 6.5 secluded wooded acres.
