Feel like you are far from town but enjoy the 1.5 mile walk/drive to city center
About Alexis D
I live in Asheville, NC. I travel all over the world with my non profit Playing to Live, and I have stayed in short term rentals from Europe to Africa. I am an art therapist in Asheville, and when I am not traveling I spend a lot of time in the national forest mountain biking and hiking. I enjoy painting and sewing, which you will see all over my short term rentals space. After staying in so many short term rentals, I am excited to host in my brand new home. When I travel I gather handmade items and fabric, which I am so excited to have displayed in my short term rentals apartment. I also have a strong Appalachian background, so it has been fun to combine the two aesthetics.

Why Alexis D chose Historic Montford
We bought this house because it stood out from every other property we looked at. We have the benefit of being 1.5 from town as well as in one of the most sought after neighborhoods, but we also live next to a farm and are situated on top of a hill that gives us tons of privacy. It is a brand new house (finished in December 2017) and is also green certified. We absolutely love our home.

Clean, quiet, spacious. Outstanding presentation and responsive owner. Recommend.
Quiet but in the heart of it all
This property is quiet but mere minutes from downtown/everything. Furnishings are quaint yet chic. Homeowners are friendly and accessable but give you space and privacy.
Warm, cozy and clean
We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at this fun apartment in Montford. The apartment was spotless which is my number one priority. Alexis responded almost immediately to any questions. She and her husband were friendly but unobtrusive and worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The location couldn’t have been better for access to great restaurants downtown and area sightseeing. We didn’t get to walk through the neighborhood but it is a lovely part of town. I highly recommend this apartment.
Great Asheville Getaway
Thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and it’s nice extra touches. The location is convenient to getting to all of Asheville (close to downtown) but nestled among forest area that gave the place a peaceful and relaxing feel. Highly recommend.
This self contained apartment is beautiful. Totally separate entrance from the main house with gorgeous furnished living room, bedroom and bathroom. There's no kitchen but a coffee bar area with coffee fixings, microwave and fridge so that worked great.
I've stayed in many vrbo and this was one of the nicest in the small details (welcome packages.. dry shampoo, sunscreen and cold beer!!!!) How thoughtful
Alexis was great at sending recommendations too. We met her briefly and she is a world traveler which I think shows in the details of her place.
The area is charming and full of mansions... so fun to walk the neighborhood. We walked into downtown Asheville a few times and also ubered.. especially at night ad some parts of the country lanes don't have sidewalk and it was steamy hot while we were there. The walk is only 25 minutes though.
Y’all were the perfect guests. Thanks so much for the sweet review.
Quiet peaceful lovely
Had a wonderful time in this cozy apartment in historic Montford. We walked the beautiful neighborhood and ate at the local restaurants Alexis recommended, Nine Mile and Darlings. Quiet and peaceful. Thank you
Asheville and all it's uniqueness can be found in our famous neighborhood called Montford. While we are only 1.5 miles from town, we are at the far end of this fascinating neighborhood. Our little nook at the end of a road represents what Asheville is all about a intermingling of new and old. You will truly feel like you are away from the city as you drive the 100 feet towards our home as you pass by a beautiful neighborhood farm. Our neighbors are a mix of new and old homes, and we know and adore everyone of them. If you are looking for a true local experience, our house will absolutely give you that. If you are looking for a cookie cutter neighborhood, then this spot or most of Asheville might not be the spot for you.
We have a beautiful piece of property, where our new home is on top of a hill at the end of the street. Enjoy walking past the urban farm and unique homes in Montford on your way to the city (30-40 minutes).
Despite living in the urban part of Asheville, for those without cars please note that you will have to uber or walk through neighborhood to get to town and food.
