"LOVED IT!!!" We didn't want to leave. The name definitely fits "The Cozy Cabin."

It's a great place. It's not too rustic and not too modern. It gives you the comforts of modern day living like hot water, gad stove, refigerator, great washer/dryer, electricity and great heater, updated showers (snug but clean and new), TV with Dish Network. At the same time it offers you that rustic living feeling with what seems like original wood flooring (carpet in bedrooms and main bathroom), wood burning fire stove in living room and decor. My son's who are 10 &14 already want to plan on another trip. My husband wasn't expecting to enjoy it(not modern enough) and ended up really enjoying it. Felt so relaxed and comfortable. It snowed Christmas eve overnight and a small amount again Christmas morning. Really would like to go back again and stay here.

Great location but cabin needs some work

  • 3 of 5

My family and I stayed at this cabin over Thanksgiving. Overall, this cabin is great for the price per night. It is centrally located and the lot is nice. The house directly behind the cabin was of concern to us because it was not kept up and had no shortage of trash and beer cans overflowing out of the yard, not that the rental cabin owner could control that much..the top lock on the door was not functioning, again another safety concern. I did let the owner know about that. The cabin is at least 50 years old and has an odd layout where the front door opens directly into the bedroom with the bunk beds. The mattress in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable and desperately needs a mattress/memory foam topper. Both showers are tiny and I mean TINY. The second bathroom was adequate for our children who are four years old but adults would have a hard time maneuvering due to the space. The master shower had a hard time regulating the water temperature which was not fun to scald and then freeze my children. The cabin does need some work, grout is missing/chipped, uneven flooring, some appliances do not work. There is no fire pit as pictured in the pictures, that was disappointing because we thought we could roast marshmallows however fire pits are now illegal in the village of Ruidoso. The neighborhood is eclectic and has many different types of homes. We didn't have any issues with noise as previous guests noted. It was so neat to have the deer come right up to the cabin and be able to hand feed them. The tire swing provided some great entertainment for my little ones. The owner is very responsive. I absolutely loved having a washer and dryer in the cabin because it cut down a lot on all that post-vacation laundry pile up. I'm not sure that I would stay here again due to the above mentioned concerns but we did have a great time in Ruidoso.

This is a cute cozy cabin

  • 3 of 5

This cabin was cute and cozy. I would have rated it better overall but the cabin is in a scketchy neighborhood. Lots of dogs running loose and there was a window pane broken and not repaired, it had cardboard and duct tape over it.

Great little cabin close to town

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. Everything was in working order and the beds and livingroom furniture were very comfortable. There was plenty of extra bedding and towels and nice little decorating touches all over the cabin. Very homey and my little chihuahua loved going out into the yard to sniff. We plan on staying here again.

Very comfortable cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

I had the pleasure of staying at this cabin during August. I found the cabin to be very conveniently located to the activities of interest. The cabin was spacious as well as very comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen. I will look forward to staying here again next year.

Great property close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our 5 night stay in Ruidoso. The property was as advertised...It was clean and comfortable with everything you need to have a great time...The property is close to downtown and shopping...It is also close to several nice places to eat and the Thriftway supermarket. The house is located on a large lot and has plenty of room both outside and inside. I will say that the beds could use a topper for a bit more comfort. My parents were with us and had a little bit of difficulty managing the steps /walk up to the doors...maybe some steps would be in order. We were a group of 4 and the two bedrooms were great...a little privacy was nice...For the most part, the neighborhood was quiet...a few dogs...a teenager with a loud car...otherwise very nice...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone with a group of 4 up to 8....Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Tebay for responding so quickly and getting information to us in a timely manner.....
