Hi :-) I grew up in Southern California, then lived in NYC for a few years (where I met my husband) before settling in Anthem, AZ and starting our family! My husband and I have lived in Anthem for 8 years and have three small children, with one more on the way. The Flagstaff/Williams area is a perfect escape from the heat of the Valley during the summer, a gorgeous place to see the leaves changing in the Fall, and a wonderful place to experience a 'real winter' and give our kids a chance to sled and build snowmen!! :-)
Emily Locke purchased this house in 2013
This place is amazing! We fell in love the first time we saw it. The Parks area is the perfect location, halfway between Flagstaff and Williams. Our cottage is about 5 miles off of I-40 and is bordered on 3 sides by the beautiful, Kaibab National Forest. The cottage itself is immaculate, well furnished, and a perfect place for a getaway!
One of my favorite things about the cottage is the 'Loft', which is a kid-sized play area above one of the upstairs bedrooms. It is such a unique and fun place!
Everything was great! I really can't think of anything about the house that we didn't like. We loved the wood burning stove, and that there were toys to keep our kids busy. The location was perfect, we loved how secluded it was.
We all enjoyed our stay.
It was clean and exceeded our expectations. We loved the surroundings and the wonderful home.
My brother in law loved the wood fireplace.
It's also close to everything we wanted to see such as Sedona, the grande canyon and volcanoes park.
It was also stocked with everything you could possibly need.
I would give this place a 5 out of 5.
Nice private location, but still an easy drive to Grand Canyon or into Flagstaff. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed, including coffee. Plenty of fun games inside and out for kids. We highly recommend!
The house is great for family with children. I have 2 kids ages 3 and 5, and the other family has 14 and 10; My kids had named the rooms, the game room, the toy room, and the loft. The effort to ensure that the guests feel comfortable are well received. We have been VRBO renters for years, and we didn't have to go run to the grocery for anything. The littlest things count! The tissues in every room, the labels in each cabinet, the availability of paper towels, and toilet tissues, it may sound mundane but if you are traveling to a strange place, all these counts! The house is clean, the toilets, the kitchens, I can go on and on! The location is great, walking distance to snow play areas all to ourselves.
Emily, thanks for ensuring your house is home to renters. There are hiccups, but all in all is nothing compared to the comfort. And you have been great to communicate with.
This was one of the best experiences of my life! I'll probably rent this cabin every year for my family. It felt like home being there and my family never wanted to leave. Thank you for allowing us this great opportunity!
Perfect setup and location for a winter getaway. We enjoyed your well maintained cottage! Very clean, nicely equipped, great communication with the owner, and exactly as pictured and described. Will definitely be back.
Very comfortable in this house with a good kitchen. We didn't have small children with us, but looked well equipped for that also. Everything was in good condition and we enjoyed being able to use this spot as a launching pad to drive to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Sedona. Lovely property.
