4 Bedroom 3 And 1/2 Bath Home On Completely Private Wooded Setting

FROM PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE

Two cultural VIPs (from the Curtis Institute and Kimmel Center) bought this roomy log cabin in 2013 as an escape from city life. Then they gave it an overhaul, adding the perfect mix of vintage elements (an enameled wood stove from Norway) and new stuff (spa-like bathrooms, a private suite) for a gorgeous upscale-yet-cozy look. Lucky for you they're willing to share. Drive 10 minutes and you'll find Lake Nockamixon, antiques shops, and quaint enclaves like Frenchtown.'

J U S T A D D E D !

NEW 1ST FLOOR MASTER BEDROOM SUITE WITH LIVING ROOM AND FULL BATH. NEW BREAKFAST AREA IN THE KITCHEN. NEW NAPOLEON 6 BURNER PRESTIGE PRO SERIES GRILL. NEW CALDERA 6 PERSON HOT TUB DESIGNED BY BMW. TOTAL OF 4 BEDROOMS, 3 1/2 BATHS SLEEPS 14!

Completely refreshed in 2017, this log home has a chef's kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and granite counters. The original handmade cabinets and built-ins have been retained.

The new master bedroom has a large living space with 2 sets of French doors looking out over the front of the property. The bedroom has a king bed completely adjustable by remote, including massage. French doors off the bedroom lead directly to the patio and hot tub.

While the whole home is newly furnished, unique antique pieces fill the property with character. The huge dining room seats 12, and adjoins the living room for perfect entertaining.

There are two bedrooms and a bath on the 2nd floor.

Providing a spa experience, the main house bath has a claw foot tub, shower and a complete collection of bath salts and other skin products.

The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked and has a dining area and long counter to accommodate guests family and the chef.

The apartment has a large living room, bedroom and bath. There are queen size sofa beds in the living rooms of the main house, Master Suite and apartment.

Large flat screens are in the living room, three bedrooms and the living space of the private suite. There is Wi-Fi service. A complete package of premium channels, sports and children's programming provides all guests with multiple choices for TV viewing. A wireless printer for convenient printing of local destinations and directions caps off a most technologically sophisticated package tucked in a country log home environment.

Outdoors is landscaped and beautiful from all four sides of the house. The front yard is long, wide and rolling, with a park-like atmosphere. One side of the house has a raised garden, and the other a large deck with two tables and 14 chairs. There is a 6 burner gas grill on the deck. The back yard is wide and flat, with many visits by deer and a large variety of birds.

Extra features include a full size second refrigerator, and two pop-up picnic tables with built-in seating that each seat 4.

About Chuck Finch

I live in downtown Philadelphia in a 4 story townhouse built in 1803. I grew up in a family that developed property for over 100 years, so my love of interesting architecture and restoring houses is in my blood.

Chuck Finch purchased this house in 2012

Why Chuck Finch chose Bucks County

There is no type of property that offers such a distinctly warm and welcoming appeal as a log home. By updating the house without making it too contemporary, I think that Raspberry Hill has a unique combination of sophistication and rustic charm.

What makes this house unique

The outdoor property is very private and quite beautiful. Although a cozy log house, all of the technology and luxury you could ever want is available.

Perfect Family Reunion Spot

  • 5 of 5

I couldn't have found a more perfect spot to surprise my husband, who grew up in Bucks County, on his special birthday. The space was perfect for our oldest son and 2 children (they slept in the separate apartment) and our other 2 single adult sons and us. We all love to cook and found the kitchen a great workspace as well has being equipped with everything we needed in terms of cookware, serving dishes and food stuffs (cereal, oil, spices, coffee). The weather was not the best, but there were plenty of games and playing cards to keep the kids amused. We loved the big tub and spa salts as well as the arty and antique decor. The house was exactly (if not even better !) as described in the listing and the owner was very available, responsive, and helpful. I had a friend in the area deliver some food and "happy birthday" signs the morning of our arrival and Chuck was more than accommodating about letting him in early. I wish we would have been there after the fire pit was put in and the renovations completed. Now we will have to go back! I had hoped to stay in Frenchtown, but it turned out to be better to be a little bit more rural, yet with some amazing restaurants 5 min away, including owowcow (the best ice cream!), nellie rae's vegetarian (yummy breakfasts) and great pizza at pizza bella. I can't recommend this home more highly. Thank you Chuck!

Just as described by Chuck and the other guests who preceded us.......Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

As a native Bucks County person returning for a family reunion, I wanted a place that would remind me of what I love about the area. Chuck’s home was it — just PERFECT. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute in this charming home that had absolutely everything one needed. My husband, son, his wife, and two grandchildren (6&4) enjoyed the deck for dining, the fire pit for smores, and the hot tub for cooling off. Just the best vacation for all. Thank you, Chuck, for sharing. Maggie O

Family Bonding Stage

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for family coming from Mexico and Arizona to our son's wedding at the Lake Inn by Lake Nockamixon . This home is the epitome of the life we lead in Pennsylvania. It featured the woods, farm with horses next door, log cabin feel with tasteful decor that highlights art from the city and country, antiques, and modern technology from the washer and drier to the eco-friendly thermostat. yet it has this old cabin details that gives it character. We were lucky enough to have Chuck give us a tour before our family arrived. Nicest easy going person you'll ever meet. The house has his vibe for sure. Every room and outdoor spaces are like a stage to mingle, even the bathroom with the comfortable tub, ( great size mirrors -make up station for us girls before the wedding). We made some great memories and our pictures show how everyone felt relaxed and comfortable as if we were in one of our own homes. I could go on but just know that the amenities described in their ad lived out to our expectations ( wait add the Jacuzzi. that was a pleasant surprise) . I got all kinds of kudos for finding the place and I'm passing them on to the owners.

Thank you Guys!

Sincerely,

Nora and Mark

The BEST Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

This house could not have been more perfect for our quick weekend getaway. My youngest sister graduated with a double major from Cedar Crest College in Allentown this past weekend. I, my husband, mother, father, brother, brother's girlfriend, her daughter, youngest sister and 4 dogs all stayed at the house. My grandparents, aunt and uncle stayed in town but visited. We were blown away! The decor, space and inclusions of this cozy home were much, much more than expected. We enjoyed grilling out, had room for the dogs to run, hung around the fireplace in the evenings and still had a quiet enough space to put my niece down for her afternoon nap. The rooms were big and comfy. The spa bathroom was amazing! The kitchen was easy to work in and locate what we needed. The dining room accommodated us comfortably even with my grandparents, aunt and uncle visiting. We weren't able to use the fire pit unfortunately but we like the set up. The only complaint was from my father who was disappointed there wasn't any Captain Morgan. :)

Town was a little bit of a drive (about 20 minutes) but the drive is beautiful. It did rain a bit more than we thought it would on Saturday. I think an intercom system would be a good investment between the main house and the private suite. Full length mirrors would have been a plus in the bedrooms for getting ready. I would definitely recommend ready the welcome check in instructions that is emailed before arriving. Turning on and off the lights in the house were a little confusing as was the heating/cooling unit. Even though smoking is not allowed in the house, it was evident there have been smokers outside. There were cigarette butts in the driveway. I would suggest some sort of ashtrays outside so they don't litter the beautiful, kept yard.

Chuck was quick to respond to any questions and knowledgeable about the area. We are super excited to come back in a few years to celebrate my sister graduating with her Masters Degree. This was one family trip we will not forget. Thank you so much Chuck!

A perfect getaway location celebrating our Bride!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the day traveling to various wineries throughout Bucks County celebrating my cousin's bachelorette party. We ended our day at this beautiful log cabin home in Upper Black Eddy. The interior was so quaint and decorated with fun antiques. The spaces in the house are very cozy with a lot of space for friends and family. We had just under 10 people stay there and there was plenty of room for all of us. The outdoor areas surrounding the house were picture perfect - I only wish we had warmer weather to sit outside and enjoy the side deck. The kitchen was perfect for cooking a brunch the next morning. Chuck was extremely accommodating and helpful in setting up the Bluetooth speakers - which was an AWESOME addition to our evening! Many of the girls (who came from Arizona, NY, DE, NJ, and CT!) said they would love to come back for an anniversary trip or rent this for their parents.
