Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Upper Black Eddy - Raspberry Hill

3 Bedroom 2 And 1/2 Bath Home On Completely Private Wooded Setting

'Two cultural VIPs (from the Curtis Institute and Kimmel Center) bought this roomy log cabin in 2012 as an escape from city life. Then they gave it an overhaul, adding the perfect mix of vintage elements (an enameled wood stove from Norway) and new stuff (spa-like bathrooms, a private suite) for a gorgeous upscale-yet-cozy look. Lucky for you they're willing to share. Drive 20 minutes and you'll find Lake Nockamixon, antiques shops, and quaint enclaves like Frenchtown.'

***JUST ADDED! The north deck was just outfitted with a teak dining table and chairs for 10, as well as a lounging area with a love-seat, two arm chairs and a coffee table***

Wonderful dense and soft carpeting in the main house bedrooms - 20 foot deck off the private suite apartment - Enameled Norwegian wood stove with masonry wall in the dining room - Two sink vanity with granite counter and under-mount sinks in the main house bathroom - Great new games in the living room!

Just furnished and completely refreshed in 2013, this log home has a chef's kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and granite counters. The original handmade cabinets and built-ins have been retained.

The main bathroom is very large, with a claw foot tub and shower. There is a complete collection of bath salts and other skin products providing a spa experience.

While the whole home is newly furnished, unique antique pieces fill the property with character. The huge dining room seats 12, and adjoins the living room for perfect entertaining.

There are two bedrooms and a bath on the 2nd floor, a powder room in the kitchen and a private apartment accessed from back of the house.

The apartment has a large living room, bedroom and bath. There are queen size sofa beds in the living rooms of both the main house and the apartment.

Large flat screens are in the living room, two bedrooms and the living of the private suite. There is Wi-Fi service. A complete package of premium channels, sports and children's programming provides all guests with multiple choices for TV viewing. A Blu-ray player and a wireless printer for convenient printing of local destinations and directions caps off a most technologically sophisticated package tucked in a country log home environment.

Outdoors is landscaped and beautiful from all four sides of the house. The front yard is long, wide and rolling, with a park-like atmosphere. One side of the house has a raised garden, and the other a large deck with two tables and 8 chairs. There is a 5 burner gas grill on the deck. The back yard is wide and flat, with many visits by deer and a large variety of birds.

Extra features include a full size second refrigerator, and two pop-up picnic tables with built-in seating that each seat 4.

About Chuck Finch

I live in downtown Philadelphia in a 4 story townhouse built in 1803. I grew up in a family that developed property for over 100 years, so my love of interesting architecture and restoring houses is in my blood.

Chuck Finch purchased this house in 2012

Why Chuck Finch chose Bucks County

There is no type of property that offers such a distinctly warm and welcoming appeal as a log home. By updating the house without making it too contemporary, I think that Raspberry Hill has a unique combination of sophistication and rustic charm.

What makes this house unique

The outdoor property is vey private and quite beautiful. Although a log house, all of the technology you could ever want is available.

The property is absolutely beautiful and the house is charming with so much character! It's very spacious and backs up to a wooded area. We enjoyed the outdoor space and the firepit very much!

We had the most amazing time and your home is beautiful beyonds words. We hope to return in the near future with our children. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Wish we could have stayed longer. Grace & Chuck

Gorgeous property in Bucks

  • 5 of 5

We've been renting houses in Bucks Co. for years and were blown away with this home and it's grounds. The house is warm and cozy with beautiful interior design. It's very well stocked and had everything we needed for our family and friends. The large property feels like a private park and is very secluded. Our kids could run freely and loved filling the bird feeders and swinging in the hammock. The apartment gives nice privacy if you have friends staying with you. We celebrated our daughter's 9th birthday as a family for a weekend and had the most amazing time. I recommend this property highly!

We had an amazing 5 days at the log house. The pictures don't do it justice! We actually had an intimate wedding ceremony right on the property. It was so beautiful and private. The decor in the house is perfect and everyone loved the cozy feel of it. I can't wait to go back to stay at the house. Chuck is very responsive to answer all your questions and it made the process so much quicker and easier. We spent time in Doylestown as well :)

Lovely home in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This lovely log home gives visitors the best of both worlds. The home is located on a secluded large lot that makes you feel as if you are out in the country, yet you can easily drive to many of the local attractions. The house is clean, has plenty of linens and towels, and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We enjoyed eating out on the deck and using the fire pit. There are many birds to watch, two horses next door, and an orange cat who visits now and then. The owner is very easy to communicate with, responds quickly, and provides guests with detailed instructions for the property. We enjoyed visiting Doylestown, New Hope, and Lambertville, as well as the beautiful homes and scenery that can be seen along the way. This charming log cabin is the perfect place to enjoy some time in Bucks County.

Great house to explore Bucks County

  • 5 of 5

First, this is a great property and the land it’s on is wonderful, peaceful and a treat. Our weather was great so we were able to enjoy the property which is lovely. We fed and watched the birds endlessly. We saw dear at the edge of the lawn and the horses next door added to the local color. The house and apartment over the garage were perfect for our exploration of Bucks County. And the apartment gave our young adults a place to be away from us. My wife and I sat in the real cook’s kitchen and simply chilled out. Some days we picked a tomato from the garden, and made lunch. Our hosts left the property immaculately clean and the property was full of their wonderful objects from a life in the theater, for which I was particularly grateful. Our host was available by cell phone a couple of times picking up on the third ring. The location of the house is perfect. Just up a steep hill from a wonderful restaurant and bar and close enough to the cool, hip little Bucks towns on the Delaware that we wanted to visit. I would suggest a couple of things to make the property even easier to love. If one were sensitive to scents the fragrance oils around the living room might be a problem. Easy fix. The other issue was just ours really, but one in our group had a phobia for clowns and puppets. We didn’t see these in the pictures available online. Neither of these took away from our stay. And I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Nestled on several acres of landscaped property, and surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodland and fields, your only neighbors are 2 horses and a red barn. Not visible from the road, the house is completely private, but minutes from wonderful antique stores, restaurants and state parks.
