Overview

About the property

8 Bedrooms, 7 Bathrooms, Sleeps 40+

The River's Edge Lodge becomes home the moment you step inside. Welcoming and warm, your first words will be, 'WOW! This is awesome!' Then you will need to restrain the kids (and some adults), as they want to take off exploring this four level, rustic and elegant home. Once you get past the breathtaking open kitchen, dining and living area, it is an adventure to check out the many rooms. Every room has it's own thermostat, new TV (several smart TV's), wifi and ethernet port for your laptop or desktop internet access.

Bedrooms each have their own personality. Lower level is the Grand Slam room (guys love it) featuring stories and photos of the local trout fishing. Look out the window to see the Blue River, which is home to all five types of trout. A king bed and a twin bed allows sleeping for three people.

A few steps up is the next level with the kitchen that boasts, two Subzero side-by-side refrigerators, one beverage frig, a refrigerated drawer and a freezer drawer. Two massive islands with three large sinks, three full sized dishwashers, a beverage center, commercial coffee brewer, espresso machine and gourmet cooking equipment. The beautiful bar area between the kitchen and dining area seats at least seven (great place to watch the chefs in action and keep them company). Two dining tables seat 14, and additional tables and chairs can be added. Plenty of room for everyone to mingle together in this huge open space with a fireplace, spectacular river views out the many large windows (where it is not unusual to see wildlife grazing close enough to the house for great pics!) Two double French doors open to a large patio overlooking the river. Front and back patios feature original antique lampposts from old downtown Breckenridge. Large propane grill, new patio dining sets (seats 24) and jacuzzi make the back patio perfect for outdoor parties. All areas are furnished with unique antiques, local craftsmanship, mining relics, comfy leather couches, and delightfully comfortable beds. Decorated in black and white photos depicting the early days of Breck, along with the stories behind the photos, this lodge has a bit of a museum feel.

Up to the next level you will find the 'Gold Rush' room with a river view, king sized bed, twin bed, and a huge bathroom.

Next door is my favorite room, the 'Vista Del Rio' room, with the best views in the house. You do not have to leave your room often, as this room features a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, microwave, and a full set of dishes. Also has a king and a twin bed, private bath with large tub and shower, and lots of space to live in. A drop leaf table conceals folding chairs inside, if you choose to have your own dining table in your room.

Across the hallway on this level is the Tatonka room, decorated with my favorite, buffaloes and old native American photographs. A king bed, a twin bed and private bath make this a comfy room for at least three people.

This level also has a large laundry room with two full-size washers and dryers.

Moving up to the highest level, the'Big Red Room' is perfect for singles or a family of seven. It is furnished with a king bed, two extra long twins, a twin/twin bunk and a twin sleeper sofa. As with all other rooms, it is furnished with a large HD television, Wi-Fi and ethernet Internet access, and its own bath with tub and shower. Plenty of space in this area for people to hang out together and have room for all their stuff. A love seat and recliner, a large work table, plenty of nightstands and lamps for everyone make it easy for you to feel right at home. Suitable for an entire family to share.

Moving on down the hallway leads to the magnificent master suite with another fantastic view over the river from its private balcony. A king bed, twin trundle beds, and a queen sleeper sofa, also make this room perfect for a family to enjoy together. The master bath is very large with a beautiful walk in shower with multiple showerheads, a huge bathtub, a bidet, and two vanities. Totally secluded from the rest of the house, this is definitely the first choice when staying at the River's Edge Lodge and Retreat Center. An optional room within the master sleeps two in twin beds (must request in advance).

Finally, a kids (and parents!) Paradise is found in the three room basement. The 'Man Cave' is furnished with two oversized, comfy sectionals, a ping-pong table, a foosball table, puzzles, games and cards. Of course, two 60' smart TV's make it perfect for the big game or family movie night. Tile flooring transforms this room into a perfect dance floor.

The 'Bunker Room' sleeps five people on a twin/twin and a twin/full log bunk beds.

The Family Bunker finishes the basement playground. This room is where you will find your kids most of the time. Very spacious for playing, yet still has plenty so room for 4 twin/twin bunks, and a King size bed. Sleeps 11 people.

About Eddie Cordoba

Eddie and Nancy Cordoba have worked diligently for several years to build this fantastic home to share their love for the mountains and all Breckenridge and the beautiful Rockies have to offer. We finished building early 2013 and are excited to share our Lodge with our guests. We have chosen to devote our lives to this endeavor and do everything possible to make your event everything you dreamed of and more. Our motto - 'We are at your Breck and call'.

Eddie Cordoba purchased this lodge in 1988

Why Eddie Cordoba chose Breckenridge

This property is a one-of-a-kind treasure. It is very difficult to locate a place where multiple families can stay together comfortably. The location on the river, close to town, yet away from the hustle and bustle is very rare. The amenities far exceed most properties in the area. Shuttle pick up and drop off.

What makes this lodge unique

The Lodge is rare find where large groups can vacation in the same house for family reunions, parties, and other special occasions for large numbers of guests. This property has one of the biggest and best kitchens you will find in the area.

Great place for a retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This is the 4th year we have used this location for a women's yoga retreat. The space is perfect for our needs and has plenty of room for gatherings - both indoors and outdoors. The Blue River runs right through it, peaceful for sleeping at night and relaxing by. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking apparatus, 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers - perfect for entertaining. I've rented plenty of homes on VRBO, and this one has been kept up well, year after year.

As amazing as the other reviews make it sound

  • 5 of 5

The house is magnificent. It's really large and everyone in my group of 26 was totally comfortable through the stay. Super close to Breckenridge (1.5 mile drive, 4 min drive) but a ton of privacy.

There was a little campfire out front by the river.

Lots of hiking in and around that area.

The property manager lives in the same house but his living area is completely separate from the rental portion with separate entrances.

The one minor issue we had was addressed immediately.

Great place for corporate retreat

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home, great kitchen. There were 10 of us and it worked perfectly. Only drawback was a problem with spotty wifi. But that kept us off the grid and we got lots done.

Fantastic home, AMAZING kitchen, friendly owners

  • 5 of 5

We had 30+ members of our extended family ranging in age from age 1 to 75 staying in this home and everyone had a great time. The owners responded to all of our questions in a timely manner and provided everything we needed to have have a lovely family reunion. The kitchen was FULLY stocked with all items needed for cooking for a large group. We appreciated the 2 large refrigerator/freezers and the additional beverage fridge and ice maker. The hot tub was put to good use and it was nice to have a washer and dryer for keeping the towels clean and dry. We appreciated the detergent that was provided as well as the iron and ironing board. I would highly recommend this home for a large group of any sort. It was a beautiful setting and very close to the town of Breckenridge.

If you have a large group, this is the place to stay in the Breckenridge area

  • 4 of 5

Just recently returned from our family reunion at River's Edge Lodge. What an excellent venue to handle a large family. The kitchen was big enough of all of us to cook at once and there were beds for everyone. The river in the front is really nice and provided a great natural barrier to the highway to keep all of the younger family members occupied and safe (did need to provide supervision at the rivers edge but it was a nice place for the adults to hang out too). Town is super close and had so much for everyone to do too. It was one of our best reunions.

Only downer was the broken patio table we found and lots of broken bottles from the previous renters around the back patio area. Once we got that cleaned up, this place was ideal.
