Vacation 3 story home next to the beach with panoramic ocean views in a quiet natural area.Newly renovated 3 story home with all of the amenities.New appliances and fresh paint with WiFi, cable TV, central air, and a great fenced yard. Great beaches, trails, parks, kayaking, ocean, Intracoastal waterway, boat ramp, and much more! Our home has very large porches making gatherings pleasant with ocean views and breezes. At night there is great star gazing in our quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach without crossing any busy roads. Our home is across the street from the park, that leads to the beach. Our street is a quiet neighborhood road.
Nena and I bought this home as a get away for us. This is a quiet beach area, like old Florida. We enjoy the beach, off road, and road biking as well as the ocean and paddle boarding.
We live nearby, just west of St Augustine, in the country and we wanted a beach home without the crowds of St Augustine.
St Augustine is just a scenic 25 minute drive from the beach house - great for sight seeing, then escape back to quiet paradise.
Gary purchased this house in 2013
This area south of Marineland is quiet, relaxing, and natural. The home is surrounded by natural parks with great walking trails and of course the beach!
The views from our balcony allow uninterrupted views of the ocean - no houses between us and the ocean. We have a wonderful natural park between us and the ocean allowing us to set back about 150 yards from the beach.
We have a Publix just a couple miles south on A1A and there are numerous fun restaurants and bars in the area. Flagler Beach is a 15 minute drive south and is a quaint coastal beach town. Further south another 20 minutes, is Daytona Beach. North of us on coastal A1A is beautiful St Augustine - about a 25 minute drive along the beach and ocean.
So, we are close to fun stuff, yet uncrowded and quiet in our neighborhood.
At the corner of Malacompra and A1A is the Malacopra off road bike trail that offers excellent off road biking, with jumps, bridges, and other challenges on a course worthy of competitions. There is a bike shop at the corner that rents out bikes as well.
Stop into the Hip Cafe next door after a bike ride. Across the street is Bings Landing with a boat ramp to the Intracoastal. There is also a park and dock/pier and Captain's Barbecue restaurant.
We have no neighbors in front or behind our home. Our road is a quiet sandy road that leads to the beach. The walking and biking trails, as well as cute nearby stores and cafes, make this a truly unique area.A nearby boat ramp 2.5 miles away allows easy access to the Intracoastal waterway and great fishing without crowds. We often see Gopher tortoises walking down our road.
Washington Oaks State Park and Marineland are nearby and offer more Florida attractions. Coquina rock formations abound north of us on the beach.
The Malacompra off-road bicycle trail is an easy bike ride nearby. Take our beach bikes for a ride around it. Also, we have the old Coast Guard trail from WWII, an easy walk from the home that also leads to nice walking trails in the area. There is a cute cafe at the end of Malacompra for pizza and more.
Bings Landing at the end of Malacompra, has a boat ramp and a wonderful dock for viewing or fishing.
Marineland north of us has great dolphin exhibits and eco tourist attractions including a super kayaking area - take our kayaks :)
Matanzas Inlet offers bridge fishing, super beaches, and a nice area for swimming and paddle boarding - yes we have a paddle board.
There is a ton of family fun stuff within a short walk, bike ride, or car ride from the house.
The house was exactly as described. It had everything we needed. We had nine people, three families, which worked out perfect with bedrooms on three levels. We used the hot tub, bikes, kayaks and paddle board almost everyday we were there (from a Michigander's point of view, we had great weather for our entire stay). Ate at both JT's and Bing's Landing, the food and atmosphere at both were great. The location is perfect, nice and quiet but not too far from any activities we wanted to do (Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, airboat ride). Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!!
The house is exactly as described, which sometimes is not the case. It it fully equipped they thought of everything. There is much to do if you want or you can just chill. Perfect place to relax and recharge
My husband and I rented this house as a place to host family members for short visits. It worked out very well for this! Our younger son and daughter-in-law, along with his two small children and two dogs joined us for the first weekend. Our daughter-in-law's parents also came, and found the mother-in-law suite met their needs perfectly.
This house is wonderfully equipped with anything you need for the beach. The guys would take the paddle board and kayak down to the beach, enjoy them, and then get things set up at low tide for us to bring down kids for some beach fun. The bikes were also a big hit, and were used many times.
We also hosted a lunch midweek with both sets of great-grandparents. The grill worked great, and several people took advantage of the outdoor seating so they could enjoy the great view.
Our oldest son was supposed to join us for the second weekend, but unfortunately, Hurricane Matthew changed our plans. We really appreciated how well the owners kept us informed of the storm's approach, and what we needed to do. Our own home was also within the expected landfall area, and we chose to leave early to go secure our own property. Gary was very understanding about our needs.
Overall, the house has a great set up. We've rented through VRBO many times. This house is definitely in the top two! Having all the "toys" was wonderful, and the amount of deck space and yard is fantastic! Finding places that allows dogs can be difficult. As long as the gate on the driveway is closed, the yard is completely secured. Both the kids and the dogs loved it! The only negative for us was all the stairs, but we knew this might be a problem, as the youngest grandson is 21 months old. We solved it by placing the dog crates we brought so they blocked the stairways. Once the kids left, no more problem! There are also many nice restaurants in the area, and a wonderful state park.
We really enjoyed the time we had here. The entire family agrees that we would like to come back again in the future!
The house is almost perfect. This was our second stay at this property and we loved it. Everything is as advertised. The location near the beach is perfect and the access to the SUP, sea kayaks, bikes, and hot tub are exceptional. All you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself. I would recommend this property to family and anyone interested in a great vacation stay. The owner provides excellent customer service - stays in touch by text over the course of your stay to make sure you have everything you need.
You will not be disappointed in this property!
Thank you Gary for sharing your wonderful home this past week. We found your home very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. I appreciate your home being dog friendly. Being able to bring our pups along was an added bonus. They loved running in the yard and going to the beach. Sitting on the front porch drinking coffee and watching the sunrise each morning was wonderful. We definitely plan on coming again soon.
Let me start off by saying the owners of this home are a joy to deal with, very responsive and helpful!
The house presented as described, has comfortable beds and is extremely dog friendly. The entire yard is fenced with outside stairway access even from the third level. My dog loved running up and down the stairs to the yard and I felt perfectly comfortable allowing her to do so unattended. The neighbors are quite and very friendly but, not intrusive. The garage is full of every beach necessity and even a cart for hauling if needed. We put several miles on the 3G and fat tire bikes which were our mode of transport to the beach and surrounding area. The beach, which we almost had to ourselves, is a short walk down the road. I would advise observing the beach at low tide prior to swimming so you know the location of the rocks but, will include that there are not a ton of them and the water is very swimmable. There is a very nice grill on the second level and we enjoyed eating outside with the evening breeze on the nights we cooked. Our favorite restaurants during our stay were Flagler Fish Company and Mezzaluna Pizza. I cannot say enough about the location of this house, the community is very peaceful and welcoming. You are close enough to St Augustine, Daytona and even Orlando if you want to run, which we did too much of, or take my advise and just bask in the tranquility of Palm Coast. I cannot believe I have lived so close and never experienced this part of Florida! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We look forward to returning soon.
Home is surrounded by a natural park with unobstructed ocean views.Short easy walk to beach and ocean! Low traffic quiet neighborhood. Restaurant within walking distance and close to Publix.
