About Michelle Shelby Spinneweber

I go by Shelby and I am a sagittarius:) Which makes me a lover of travel and adventure . I like to write, read, eat really good food in really nice or really unusual restaurants, and listen to all kinds of music (country, jazz, blues, classical, old rock) I appreciate a finely crafted cocktail and prefer 'top shelf'. My husband and I have 10 horses (mostly quarter horses) and we like to trail ride at the beach and numerous state parks. I am a fan of camping. I would like to work on the 'glamping' thing. I work full time as a realtor in NE Florida. I specialize in St. Augustine which is the oldest city in the US! My work keeps me really busy but I like it as I get to work with buyers and sellers from all different walks of life and I get to see a lot of nice homes. I like renovation projects best as I love to see an old home with good bones get new life. In early life I grew up on 40 acres in Pennsylvania. I moved to S. Florida in the 80's and now live near St. Augustine, FL.

Why Michelle Shelby Spinneweber chose Bryson City Area

From the moment I first walked in this home I was enchanted. I loved the huge stone fireplaces, the sprawling outdoor spaces, the amazing lake views, and the icing on the cake was when i first heard and saw the babbling brook running under the deck. I found this place to be so peaceful and I had to make it mine and I also wanted to share it with others.

What makes this chalet unique

Super close to NOC, Lake Fontana, Smokey Mountain Railroad. Super easy access on a paved road with plenty of room to park vehicles and or a boat. Really quiet and peaceful setting but so close to so many wonderful things to do!

Best place to vacation 3rd year in a row!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd year in a row at the Chalet. We never want to leave. It is a beautiful quiet place with all the comforts of home. Shelby is always great to us! The home is always very clean and supplied with everything we need. If I could I would stay for a couple weeks or a month!! Our dogs are welcome as well and that is a major plus. The lake is beautiful to look at and to fish out of. We have never been anywhere else that we have went back to year after year until we found the Chalet. I could go on and on but you just have to see it for yourself, it is great! Thank you again Shelby!!

Rest and Relaxation At Last

  • 5 of 5

Such a nice big rambling house and a great porch, it gave us so much room for privacy and communal areas. The photos caught my eye on the website, but the place was so much more. The property photos and description exceeded my expectations. It was very clean & well maintained. I was afraid it was not going to look that good in person. A lot of attention was given to detail in the decor and amenities. The bed was so comfortable and the porches overlooking the lake. Loved the well equipped kitchen. This was my first experience with a VRBO and based on the success of this trip it won't be the last. I will definitely be recommending this property to anyone I know going to the mountains. Very relaxing.

LOVE!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had such a great time. It's comfortable, clean, and had everything needed. It was our first time there. We were very impressed and enjoyed the quiet time. The home was spacious. We almost wished we could live there year around. It was nice to have the screened porch and fireplaces. The hot tub was marvelous. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Owner's Response: I am sorry you are not happy your damage deposit was not refunded. It is unfortunate that during your stay you did not follow the written guidelines for operating my gas fireplaces and that you burned real wood in both gas fireplaces and created damages that far exceeded the amount of your damage deposit that was kept to cover the damages that occurred from your actions. I am also sorry you were not satisfied with the condition of my home. My housekeeper does a walk through after each check out and let's me know anytime something needs repaired or replaced. I am not aware of any current issues with my home and the guests that stayed both before and after you had no complaint about the home's condition.

Nice house and amenities

  • 4 of 5

Home is twenty minutes from Bryson City which is where most restaurants and grocery stores are. Nice area if you are looking for a quiet place just know it is far from stores.

Great location!!!

  • 3 of 5

Shelby and John were very friendly to us and were attentive to any inconvenience we had, the house is spacious and clean. The lake in front of the house is very cute.

We spent a wonderful few days in the middle of the mountains.

This location is well located; Has near roads to travel by motorcycle.

Thank you again Shelby and John
