About the property

2 bedrooms AC apartment w/ spacious living room. Modern kitchen. Garden view.

Gabrielle's flat is located on the 2nd floor in a nice and typical building in the historic center of Aix-en-Provence that has been fully renovated in 2012. Also the entire flat has been rebuilt to provide our guests a comfortable place : air conditionning in each room, very well equipped kitchen (fridge, induction plate, oven, micro-waves, washing and drying machine, dishwasher, toaster, boiler, nespresso machine), free wifi connection and big flat screen TV. This 2 bedroom apartment is ideal for 4 people. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second one has a comfortable queen size double bed with its private bathroom (italian shower). The living room is spacious and convivial and also have a sofa bed. The second bathroom has a nice italian shower, a towel-dryer and a hair dryer. Toilets are separated.

During the renovation we carefully decorated the apartement comebining our taste for the old world charm with modernity and elegance.

The whole apartment has garden view and so is very quiet.

Somehow, it's also perfectly located steps away from the Sextius baths, the International Festival of Lyric Art and the farmer' market and within walking distance from monument and museum.

My name is Gabrielle. I am french canadian and live in France for 12 years now. I spent 6 years in Aix-en-Provence to study french littérature and became a teacher as my husband Stephan.

We have two young children who are 2 and 4 years old.

Since we no longer live in Aix-en-Provence but in Briançon in the French Alps, our friend Guillaume will happily welcome you upon arrival. Somehow we keep always contact with guests through VRBO or directly by phone, from reservation to check-out.

We hope that you will enjoy our appartment and the city as we did.

When we were living in Aix-en-Provence we felt in love of old downtown and its typical building that makes the city so nice. When we found this apartment, it was "dans son jus" that means it never has been renovated for decades. Then we decide to buy it and to make a modern place with lots of comfort but keeping as well some details of the past like the traditional red floor from Provence ("Tommettes"), wood doors, and exposed beams.

Great location and very nice place.

This was a great place to stay in Aix with my family. Easy nearby parking and so fun to walk right out into the town center nearby. Stephan, Gabrielle, and Guillaume were very supportive throughout our reservation and stay. We loved the place and will book again, hopefully soon.

Nobody There to Let Us In!

I'm making this brief. I could write a page or two. Stephen was not there when we arrived at our approximate time. We waited for 1 1/2 hours but no one came. There were four of us. The owners refunded two of our six nights which we PAID IN ADVANCE. The refund was for the two nights we stayed in a hotel because we needed lodging. They kept the rest of the money. They decided that we should have come back after our hotel stay. We had already made plans with another VRBO property. They did email us but since no one was there, we had to insure we had another place to stay. In my opinion, they wern't there for our arrival and they broke the contract. Be careful here. I wouldn't send money in advance. Pay on arrival or go somewhere else. Home Alone™ could not help us. Their Dispute Center representative agreed with me. However, they tell the two parties to work it out and don't get involved other then passing along emails. I'm out my hard earned money but learned a good but expensive lesson. Be careful. Only two nights refund, not the six we paid, is simply stealing and greed.

Owner's Response: We are making this brief too. Tedric arrived on "approximate time" wich we call late, without letting us know. We : - waited one hour and a half in the street ; - called him many times without any answer (he had no cell phone) ; - sent emails and got no answer ; - called VRBO wich didn't have any news from him ; - finally left the apartment. - the next morning called and emailed again. He : - finally answered by email in the afternoon ; - refused to check in the day after ; - spent a second night at the hotel ; - rented another apartment for his stay. We : - refunded him two nights according to the situation. Our travellers will understand that we did everything we can to welcome our guest and encourage them to read all the other positive reviews we got for our apartment that has been rented 85 per cent of the year over the 5 past years with happy guests.

Felt like a local!

The location was perfect - on a quiet street within the historic center. Markets, restaurants, & shops are all within a short walk among the medieval streets that are alive with students, families and residents of all ages. Wonderful restaurants of all price ranges are just a short walk away, but we ate in most nights because the kitchen has all the conveniences needed to prepare a meal with the fresh produce, bread and cheeses we picked up at the market each morning. Safe parking garages within a 2-3 minute walk allow you to get out and about to explore other areas by car. Two of us had plenty of room in the apartment and 4 would be comfortable as well. I would recommend it to others and would stay there again.

Excellent

Gabrielle's flat in Aix was one of the best accommodation apartments that we have stayed in.

It was exceptionally clean as well as having all the appropriate kitchen and bathroom facilities that one would require.

It is comfortable, spacious and sunny and the two bathroom/showers were very handy as we were 4 adults.

Its proximity to Place de Cardeur and the centre of Aix could not be beaten.

Our hosts Gabrielle and Stephan were available on line whenever we had any questions and in Aix itself Guilliaume responded immediately to any request that we had.

Thank you for this and I would recommend this apartment to anyone travelling to lovely Aix en Provence.

Comfortable, great value, excellent location, wonderful host

This sunny, quiet, charming, clean, well-maintained French stone house suited our family very well for a fabulous visit to St Remy and surrounding areas. The owner, Gille, is an excellent, friendly host who explained each amenity carefully, which made it easy to operate the air conditioners and washing machine. He left a great bottle of rose wine from the region for us to celebrate our first evening, and he was on hand to help with travel suggestions. The kitchen is well-equipped; beds are cozy with French duvets, and we enjoyed our morning coffee outside with a portable bistro table and chairs. The weekly market and craft fair is a three-minute walk, and having Gille's free nearby parking spot was not only convenient but a huge savings. This property's location in the the heart of town, and the ease of visiting other areas of Provence from this location made it a perfect choice for us. We highly recommend this property, and will certainly stay there again. We have stayed at other vrbo properties, and this property deserves six stars!

Nice place. Very centrally located. As described.

Good Location. Comfortable. Easy walk to all central locations in Aix. If traveling with a rental parking is tight streets narrow. Best to park outside the city center. Would stay here again. Easy to arrange arrival and departure.
