About the property

Location:

The house is located in a private residential area 5 minutes walk to the seafront ,shops & tavernas. The house is elevated at the end of Kolokotroni Street with sea views across Aegina and to Aigistri. No car required as all main amenities are only 5 minutes walk.

Style

The traditional detached Greek Style house has been lovingly restored with no expense spared retaining its original charm but with all the modern living facilities .

The Avli ( courtyard) is private with tiled floors ,established shrubs and trees , a pergola with grape vines and jasmine creating privacy and shade on those hot sunny days. The inner wall is stone with feature lighting which creates a warm subtle atmosphere on those long lazy summer evenings.

There are external electric points and water taps and a stone built in BBQ .

The upper terrace is fully tiled and benefits from teak decking with built in lighting water and electric points. The views are breathtaking looking out to the sea and Aigistri Island ,the sunsets will be remembered forever.

The second terrace is ideal for sunbathing and acts as a utility area for drying washing and houses the solar panel .

The house also benefits from a large cellar and storage area which houses the central heating boiler and tank.

Internal

On entering the house through the glass doors and there is an internal wooden ceiling the glass doors open onto the courtyard they create additional natural light to the house and adjacent is the kitchen making this an ideal dining area.

The kitchen is very practical with a dishwasher ceramic hob and oven , it is fully tiled with fitted handmade wooden units , extractor cooker hood, solid marble work top , and a utility area for inset wood burning stove.

The lounge has a wooden ceiling , air conditioning , ceiling fans and windows which look out onto a small white church . The house has Vdsl , and Tv System The lounge floor is tiled

The 2 main bedrooms are large and spacious one with a double bed and the other with a single bed and bunk bed they are off the lounge with ceiling fans wooden floors wooden ceilings with doors glass doors which open out onto the courtyard. The 3rd bedroom has a single bed .

The bathroom is fully tiled with a built in bath separate shower finished with marble a hand made vanity unit with a marble top and expensive fittings. There are electrical points and a hairdryer in the bathroom.The house also has mosquito nets and blinds to all windows .

All linen bedding towels etc are provided along with all the comforts to make your holiday one to remember.

Aegina is an island of about 85 square kilometres and is about 20 kilometers from the port of Piraeus. The island’s resident population is about 12,000. It is an excellent destination for visitors wanting a relaxing, quiet holiday which can be combined with visits to Athens, the Peloponnese and other islands.

The island benefits from several good beaches, many traditional tavernas and bars, some excellent scenery and walks, and important archaeological sites and museums. This makes it a good destination for a holiday or short break all year round.

Transfers from Athens International Airport are straightforward, with good transport links to Piraeus and frequent crossings to and from the island.

Hidden Gem is located only a 5 minute walk away from all the local amenties and beaches. Ideal for walking into the town .

The island has lots of beaches a popular area with free sunbeds and lots of tavernas is Marathonas only 10 minutes from Aegina Town by bus car or taxi. There are lots of historical sights including the Temple of Aphaia , Klonos Museum , Agia Nectarious Church, Monasteries , an island called Moni is a 10 minute boat ride from the fishing village of Perdika boats go several times a day a great place to explore and swim .

There are island trips to other Saronic islands Poros Hydra are the nearest definitely worth a visit.

The island grows pistachio nuts as one of its main produce .There are lots of inexpensive places to eat and as the island is near mainland Greece it has retained its Greek traditions with lots of Greek food and wines available around the island.

Some of the beaches are very quiet for the ones who just want to relax and take in the sun and other beaches are relaxing but with lots more activity and people.

As Aegina is only 1 hour by ferry to Pireaus you have the opportunity to visit all the wonderful sights of Athens and come back the same day.

People who holiday in Aegina return time and time again it has a magnetic attraction you will not be disappointed.
