What makes this Apartment unique
Excellent location, heart of Notting Hill 8 mins walk away. range of fantastic restaurants, pubs and shops close by. Walking distance to Parks. Beautifully renovated to high standard.
Great location, very comfortable. Back patio nice amenity.
We had a great time st this apartment in Highland park. It was convenient to the tube, we frequented the local restaurants, and there was a grocery store just two blocks up. We even claimed the local pub as our own!
We loved the apartment! It is newly renovated, very clean and much larger than it looks in the photos. We are a family of 4 and there is plenty of space for T least 2 other people. The apartment is on a main road, but off a small private lane, so it is not noisy at night. We never saw or heard the neighbors.
The area is gteat- very safe, with lots of restaurants and a small supermarket within walking distance. It is close to a beautiful park and outdoor opera (Holland Park), as well as a 20 minute walk away from Kensington and Hyde park. Shepherds Bush is 8 minutes away- a main train station, we used it for a day trip to Brighton-, and another tube station is 5 minutes away. Westfield mall is only 10 minutes away (all walking distances).
Overall a great apartment, great location and a great stay. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us!
Comfortable flat, amazing location, few issues
We booked this flat at the last minute when we learned the beds in our previous booking were smaller than advertised. We were SO GLAD we made the change to Fleur's apartment! In addition to the large, comfortable beds in both bedrooms, the flat was roomy and comfortable, and the neighborhood was PERFECT! Close by to everything: restaurants, cafes, Underground metro, Holland Park, Portobello Market, Kensington, etc. Our family of 5 adults appreciated having 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and Fleur provided modern, high-powered fans for both bedrooms which allowed us to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked and we used the washing machine a few times with no problems (ran out of detergent, but it was inexpensive to buy more and the nearby market).
Only a few issues prevent me from giving 5 stars:
1- the flat smelled a bit musty throughout - not sure if this is common for basement level flats in London, but we noticed it every time we entered the apt. There was an air freshener in one of the bedrooms which helped, but it could use air fresheners throughout.
2- the shower in the 2nd bedroom was clogged when we arrived. It caused the shower to flood onto the bathroom floor when our kids used it, which we had to mop up (twice). We notified the property manager but they were not responsive until we notified Fleur. Once the plumber came (3rd day), the problem was fixed and no longer an issue.
3- the cleaning could have been more thorough: there was mold in 2nd shower, the hardwood floors were not swept in some areas, and the freezer part of the fridge needed defrosting.
4- The sofa and chair in the living room only accommodate 4 people and there were 5 of us. One always had to sit on a dining chair if we wanted to watch some TV at night together. Not a major issue, but would have been nice to have one more comfy chair available to lounge after a long day of sightseeing.
5- the WiFi stopped working for a couple of days. It was an issue with the WiFi provider and got resolved, but we were disappointed that the property manager was not very responsive on the issue. However, Fleur was always very responsive - before, during and after our stay.
Again, if not for these issues, I would have given 5 stars. Regardless, I would gladly recommend this rental and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Perfect for family trip
I spent a week here with my wife and two teenage daughters. Local neighborhood is very nice and tube station is only about a 10 minute walk. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The owner was very kind and let us come in early due to a redeye flight from the United States that came into London at 7 a.m. Photos accurately depict the apartment. We really enjoyed it and would be happy to stay there again for future London trips!
Loved it! Would definitely stay there again!!
We really enjoyed this flat. The first thing we noticed is that it is bigger than the VRBO photos would suggest. We had loads of room for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). Plenty of natural light, quiet for sleeping and very comfy beds. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathrooms had several large bath towels. The walk to Holland Park tube station was about 8 minutes and it took about 20 minutes on the tube to get to central London. Holland Park is a beautiful neighbourhood for strolling about, with some great shops, a Tesco supermarket, pharmacy and a nice pub all within a 5 minute walk. We highly recommend this place.
