Wine not take a break in Italy?

Piedmonte, the home of Wine, Truffles, Cheese and the famous Piedmontese cuisine! We, like you, enjoy great food and wine and as a result we have carefully organised and structured holidays which include visiting some of the many local family-run wineries. You will enjoy typical Italian home made food from the area, and with this sample many of the famous Piedmontese wines including Nebbiolo, Barolo, Dolcetto D’ Alba, Barbera D’ Asti, Barbaresco, Gavi di Gavi and ladies most importantly of all, Asti Spumante!! A fluent English speaking guide will accompany you and drive you to and from all locations. Depending upon the season, we also arrange for you to attend local village food and wine festivals.

These festivals are held most weekends and you can spend a day enjoying and sampling wine and food produced by the local villagers! Not to mention the world famous truffle festival in Alba, where the “Truffles” are celebrated and enjoyed all week.

Pick a package

However if food and wine tours are not your style then maybe you would prefer to meander amongst the local villages and vinyards on our bicycles and possibly stop to enjoy a packed picnic lunch prepared with all local foods from the area (menu options for the picnic are available).

For the more energetic a hit golf, or tennis is a great option! Alternatively you could visit the local sites on horse back. After all this activity a few hours relaxing on the deck by our solar heated pool while taking in the serene view of the rolling hills will complete your day!

If cultural activities are what your looking for then there are many museums, castles and churches which are well worth seeing.

For those wanting to totally un-wind a day at the local Natural thermal spa can be arranged, here you can be pampered and spoilt until your heats content!

In the evening you can dine in our cellar where you will drink the local wine and a private cook will prepare yo

Splendours of Italy

Not only is Piedmonte a wonderful place to see, but right on our doorstep are some of the most spectacular and characteristic cities of Italy.

Day tours are available to the stunning Cinque Terre which are small villages perched on the Mediterranean cliffs, or the elegant and picturesque village of Portofino and Santa Margherita are all within an easy drive. Not to forget the spectacular Mont Blanc which is within 1.5hr drive from Villa Carlotta.

For those short on time or simply wish to take aerial view of the area can take a flight in our private plane. Here you will see a view of Piedmonte and then the stunning views of the Mediterranean coast, with its bright turquoise waters, and jaggered cliffs.

Beautiful property in a great location!

  • 4 of 5

Located just outside the small hilltop village of Viarigi, Villa Carlotta was a great location for day trips out (to Asti, Torino, Lake Orta, Santa Margherita & Portofino, Acqui Terme, also the amazing villages/vistas of the Barolo-Barbaresco wine region). We also enjoyed exploring the nearby villages of Montemagno (Bar Centro has great coffee & pastries), Vignale M., Grana, Camagna, Moncalvo, & Altavilla. The villa was clean and nicely furnished, altho the living room smelled from a burnt log (we couldn't use it because of that). We loved coming "home" in the evenings for dinner, relaxation & pool time. We were there during a heat wave and the pool and air-conditioned bedrooms were most welcome. Alberto was responsive and helpful to all our pre-vacation communications, and ensured that local staff were there to welcome us and be available as needed. The villa actually has 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths + half bath, so there is plenty of space for everyone. There was a surprising wine cave in the cellar(!) with an honor system for purchasing the stored bottles. The evening mosquitoes were a problem until we bought a citronella candle. There is a small but well stocked grocery nearby and a larger supermarket in Casale M. We had a wonderful stay, and the book Alberto provides offers helpful information for exploring the Piedmont region and beyond. Reasons for not giving the villa 5 stars are easily remedied: remove the many decorations such as those hanging in the kitchen and on the radiators (dust gatherers), improve the cookware (there was only one saucepan and cooking utensils/knives could be updated; but the dishware & glassware were great), add a drip coffeemaker OR provide enough complimentary Nespresso pods for the week (hard to find in local stores), ensure there are basic cooking supplies (e.g., there was no olive oil - we bought some & left it), add some ice trays to the freezer, add a dimmer to the dining room chandelier (too bright), and add holders for soap/shampoo in the master shower. These small things (at minimal expense) can greatly improve the rental experience. It also would be nice to be welcomed with a bottle of wine and some pasta, sauce and bread for the first evening. We've traveled widely in France, Italy & GB, and have found such a welcome "basket" to be especially nice after a long day of travel when you just want to settle in for the evening. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay at Villa Carlotta. Grazie, Alberto!

Me and my families warmest regards to Alberto. We had a really nice stay at this beautiful villa with its lovely garden. Everything went nicely and the villa itself met up with our expectations. In the kitchen we could find what we needed, the rooms were clean and the garden full of interesting thing to see and do.

We were 2 families staying here with 4 children all together and this is really a place to recommend to families. Alberto is really helpful and is easily reachable by phone or email. The gardener Franco was also very helpful as all the people we came across.

Best regards from Kia with family

30.000 msq of green all around. A beautiful swimming pool, patio and barbecue. A magnific wine cellar with superb wines from this area as well as others. Several golf courses and beauty farms all around. Not far from the Ligurian Sea and Beaties like Portofino. Also not far from Mont Blanc and famous ski resources (1.5 hrs) The ENO GASRTONOMIC holiday is hardly recommended, being this the land of the best RED wine in Italy. Nearby you can visit Barolo, Barbaresco, Neive, and Alba the 'truffles' city ! A lot of local festivals will introduce you to all this.
