About this property

'The Italian Job' movie has been shooted on the canal downstairs here. Very luminous and airy. The elegance of the venitian mosaic floor, the Murano glass chandeliers, the antique furniture and fabrics is joined with the modernity and functionality of the kitchen and bathrooms. The apartment was restored while the building was left in its original state. The front door opens into a grand entrance that is surrounded by four bedrooms (one master, one double and one queen with an attached studio and sofa bed), living room, kitchen and two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and one with a shower. From the balconies, you can enjoy the view of the gondolas gliding by. Air conditioned, timed with magnetic card to be paid separately, based on usage. Third level, 6 flights of stairs. No elevator!!

Good location.

The com was good with the owner and the apartment was clean and in a good area. However as it is close to a supermarket and on the canal it was v noisy at night and first thing in the morning (7am). On check out we explained to the owner that we had accidentally broken a side light which we then paid to replace . Unfortunately the owner then accused us of breaking a couple of glasses and a bowl in the apartment. This has left us very disappointed and we wouldn’t return to the property.

A delightful apartment in a great location

Luca was an extremely helpful and attentive host. All the arrangements worked perfectly and he even remembered to tell us that the clocks were changing. The apartment is lovely and feels very authentic - it belonged to Luca's grandfather. The location is very good - close but not too close, to the station - and far away enough from the madness of St Mark's to be not completely overrun by tourists, We heard mostly Italian spoken in the streets nearby. There are very good restaurants close and the Conad supermarket below is also very good. Two things to note - there are 72 steps up to the apartment - no problem for the reasonably fit - and the canal can be a little noisy first thing in the morning with deliveries. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend this apartment. Mark Padmore

Very Comfortable and Well-Equipped.

If you follow the instructions, the apartment is very easy to find. I would recommend taking a private water taxi from the airport if you have any significant amount of luggage. Luca met us, showed us to the apartment and gave us a thorough explanation of how everything works. It is easy to walk to the main attractions and convenient for the main station/vaporetto stops. The only drawback is that there are 72 steps up to the apartment.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

Everything went brilliantly - from our initial enquiry about the apartment to the last day of our stay in Venice. Don't be nervous or worried about the booking process as Luca is a very genuine person and he makes it so easy by keeping in touch and confirming all the arrangements. He does so much to make your stay special and memorable and I can understand why people want to return. The house belonged to his Grandparents and I am sure that they would be proud of what he has achieved in their memory. The location of the apartment is perfect. Handy for the bus and rail station but within easy walking distance of all the beautiful sights in Venice. It's good anyway to take the quieter routes and become "lost" in this beautiful city. The accommodation is spacious and clean and has everything you could possibly want during your stay. One of the bedrooms has a balcony so you can observe and enjoy the hustle and bustle of everyday life and become part of the magic of Venice. Luca was the perfect host. He met us at Piazza Roma and escorted us to the apartment where he spent time recommending restaurants, shops and tourist attractions and explained the various systems of travel around Venice. Luca is a very caring, genuine person with an obvious love of Venice and he wants to make people feel welcome and want to return. My sister Val and I went to Venice with our husbands to celebrate our special birthday but we will not have to think of a special reason to go back.. Luca - a big thank you from the four of us for making our holiday special. We hope to see you again. Val and John, Jennie and Joe
