Overview

About the property

4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom with Mountain Views

Nestled on a dead-end road, on a hill with woods behind and stunning Catskills views in front, this home allows you to get away from it all. Kick back on the deck for morning coffee as you watch the birds, or gaze at the mountains. Let the kids eat their pancakes in the tree house. Later, take a walk or a bike ride on the nearby rail trail, and across the trestle bridge over the Rondout Creek. Explore the charming town of Rosendale-- the great bakery, restaurants, library, and funky shops. And if you want more antiquing and dining options, quaint High Falls and Stone Ridge are just minutes away. Feeling athletic? Try rock climbing at the famous Shawangunk Mountains. Take a walk around Lake Minnewaska then head in for a swim. Play tennis in town. In the winter months head to the Catskills for a day of downhill skiing, or go cross-country or snow-shoeing at one of the many nearby trails. Domestic? Gather fruit for your next pie at a local farm or orchard. Arts and crafts projects for the kids in the well stocked “kids clubhouse”. Dine at any of the area's fabulous restaurants, and enjoy live music afterward or grill up a feast and watch the sunset from the table on the deck. 24 hours has never felt so full.

Accommodations: Our contemporary home allows for a real get-away. The open floor plan of the living/dining/kitchen areas is welcoming and comfortable, and allows for easy socializing with family and friends. In the colder months, the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace is delicious after a long day. The chef’s kitchen is stocked with all you could need, and with views of both the woods and the mountains, it’s an inspiring place to prepare a meal. The four bedrooms and two full baths readily accommodate eight people. Note, the house has no t.v.

Wonderful family vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for a family stay for my son's wedding in Rosendale. It was perfect. It is centrally located with plenty of outdoor biking and hiking opportunities. The house was well furnished, comfortable beds, very clean, and had all amenities and supplies we could've wished for. If you and yard are staying. I would highly recommend this place. It is the best place I have rented.

Wonderful family house in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had a truly wonderful week in this beautiful house. It is in a great location, walking distance from the Wallkill Rail Trail, the Trestle, the creek and the fabulous Rail Trail Cafe, and close to Rosendale and High Falls, but it feels totally private and secluded with gorgeous mountain views. The house is super well-equipped for kids, with everything our 3 children ages 5 - 9 could have wished for. The kitchen is brilliant too, a good space for cooking and chatting, very well equipped and well stocked with cooking essentials. The beds were comfortable and we loved the style of the house. We were 3 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of space for us all. We really loved this house, we had a great relaxing week with lots of great things to do locally (following Alison's recommendations); the rail trail, Mohonk Preserve, Lake Minnewaska, Kelders farm, the excellent local public pools ... we wish we had had another week! Alison was very helpful, providing lots of good information and responding quickly when we had a query. One of the best vacation homes we have ever stayed in - highly recommended! Very many thanks to Alison and her family.

Great Place To Relax With The Family

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for one week in late July / early August. Group was 6 adults and 2 children, and there was plenty of room for everyone. We loved our stay. The house feels very secluded, but there's a grocery store with most things you would need 5 minutes away, and another with anything you would need 10 minutes away. The rooms were very comfortable, and even though the only air conditioner is in the master bedroom, a large fan in the 2nd floor ceiling cools the house down very quickly at night even on 90 degree days. Kids loved the trampoline and toys in the living room. Kitchen had everything you would need to make meals for the family. View of sunsets over the mountains from the deck was amazing. Highly recommend this house!

Great Weekend Rental

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Alison’s lovely home! We were two families with four young kids and four adults. The house is situated on a secluded gravel road that makes it feel like a real mountain getaway. But it’s also very close to great towns with plenty to do (Rosendale, High Falls, New Paltz). The kids had a blast with the treehouse, trampoline, toys in the living room and large yard to run in. The adults enjoyed the large kitchen where several people could cook together, as well as the grill and the beautiful view from the outdoor dining table. The bedrooms and baths were comfortable and well appointed and the trundle beds were great for the kids to have sleep over fun. While there, we enjoyed visits to Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park and High Falls and spent the evenings cooking together and enjoying cocktails on the patio. Alison was a great host and checked on us several times leading up to and during our visit. It was a great weekend rental that exceeding my expectations. I would highly recommend.

Great getaway for the family!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 3 families with young kids had a wonderful fall weekend at this house. The house is very clean, modern, has a lot of cooking supplies and staples, plenty of extra sheets and pillows and great views. The yard is large and equipped with a great trampoline and a two story treehouse. Everyone had so much fun! The kids club house was a BIG hit with our little ones. They played in there for hours making crafts, playing with the drum kit, getting creative.

Alison, the owner, was quick to respond to any questions and very accommodating. It was such an easy and relaxing stay. We are looking forward to a return trip!

Wonderful retreat from the city!

  • 5 of 5

Rented the house for a friend's wedding the area. Super smooth and organized communication with the owner - very easy to reserve house and get into the property. Owner was very quick to respond and answer all questions. Very accommodating and gave us a thorough guide to the area (great restaurant recommendations for dining in the area!).

House has a great layout for groups, nice open kitchen and dinning room. Large deck offered great space for outdoor dining and coffee in the morning.

Great location - within walking distance to the Rosendale Trestle and Wallkill Rail Trail (22 mile trail for biking, jogging, hiking). Town is small and quaint, perfect for a nice quite escape from the city.

Wished we could have stayed for longer! Definitely would book this house again - the views in the fall with the foliage would be spectacular!
