About Marietta F. Johnson
From South Alabama on a farm thats been in family 5 generations. But the Mountains have have always been my favorite place.
Marietta F. Johnson purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Marietta F. Johnson chose Sevierville
This is a very quite place to rest & relax and enjoy some me time. Yet only 11 miles to town. Great creek to wade in during the summer. But when winter comes and it snows its a winter wonder land. I have another cabin also number 773284.
What makes this Cabin unique
The views from the porch of the creek is un-believeable. You can sit and enjoy the nature with birds. Racoons, turkeys, bears, deer and wolfs occasionally.

Really nice cabin.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We used an apple iphone gps and it took us right to the front door. I’m not sure why others are saying their GPS wouldn’t get them there. We also did have cell phone service while there. The hot tub was an awesome aminity. Do remember that the water does have a sulfur smell as others had stated but this will not hurt your health at all. The only issue that we had was not enough towels and wash cloths and just my wife and myself went. We ended up going to Walmart and buying some. Just remember to bring some extras with you. Overall it was a great place to stay and we really enjoyed it.
Met our needs with pets
The cabin was spacious and nice. Met our needs with having a pet. Enjoyed sitting on the back porch Listening to the creek babbling sound. The cabin was hard to find but follow the direction of going to the Fox Fire adventure park. When you get there take the gravel road to the right which is Thomas Lane. It dose not have the name of the road. Neighbor were friendly and helpful.
Im glad the cabin met your needs. Not sure why gps didnt get you there, but if you check your reservations I send directions.
great family weekend
I was attracted to this listing because of the 4 bedrooms and wheelchair accessible. We spent the weekend with our adult children for my wife's birthday. It is a beautiful. cabin, very nicely decorated and stocked with everything you would need. I didn't mind the mild sulphur smell of the water but I recommend you take your own drinking water. The cabin is about 10 miles from Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and your cell phone probably won't work but there is wifi. GPS also will not work; I suggest you look up Foxfire Mountain/Wyile's Cider and follow their directions to/from town. When you get to Foxfire just continue on Thomas Lane to the right and up the hill about 1/2 mile .We loved the deck and there is a crib provided .Kitchen well-stocked. We will be back
couldn't have asked for a more Nicer place to stay! lots of room!♡
Glad you and your family had a good time. Hope to have yall back.
The bad outweighs the good here...
The cabin is extremely difficult to find. The address led us to a parking lot of the Fox Fire Mountain Adventure Park. The employees there knew nothing about the cabin but did note that we were the 4th people to ask for directions to this cabin this summer! They allowed us to use their phone, as they had all the other people that stopped and asked them for directions, as we had no cell service. The owner answered her phone immediately and gave us direction to her cabin. It would be nice if these were given before arriving!
We would be lying if we did not say that we were slightly disappointed with the cabin. Like other renters have mentioned upon arriving we were met with a note from the owner (that had an unwelcoming feel to it), a tip envelope for housekeeping, and two separate notes on how to check out of the cabin (one from the owner and one from housekeeping). The cabin was definitely not spotless; for example we noted multiple cobwebs in the corners, a thick layer of dust on the pamphlet table. As the week went on we found other things like the toilet handle that was nearly broken off, the running toilet upstairs, a number of light bulbs that were burnt out & one burner on the stove didn't work. We were willing to overlook these things, opting instead to enjoy the week. We checked out as instructed, leaving the cabin as we found it.
Like others, upon returning home we were not issued our entire deposit back to due pet hair in the cabin. We did NOT bring a pet and immediately reached out to the owner and plead our case in a kind manner stating we didn't have pets and couldn't possible bring in pet hair. She graciously, within one day, did give us our entire deposit back and stated that the cleaning crew determines the refund.
Please note that the owner mentioned the sulfur smell of her water! Don't overlook this!! The sulfur smell of the water was the worst I have ever smelled. We have rented a number of cabins with sulfur smelling water before but this one is strong!
The cabin is only 15 miles away from Gatlinburg - which is actually 30+ minutes of drive time due to the winding and narrow roads, and it takes nearly 45 minutes to get to the Smokey Mountains.
There were things about this cabin that we did like - the quiet location, huge covered porch, and Foosball table but the housekeeping 'issues' and water are too big to overlook and far outweigh the good - thereby causing this review.
First of all you are given the address and gps will take you there. Yes there was an issue about the refund but you did get it all. Mistakes are made were only human. As for the smell I have done all I can the area had sulfur wells and I cant help that is an issue. The city refuses to bring in city water. I paid to have a filter system in two different kinds and theres no way to get rid of the smell. Especially when its been raining it disturbs the water level and makes it worse. as for light bulbs I bet you have bulbs that blow too. We do replace them but it happens. As for the burner this is the first I heard of one not working, I am sorry. As for the toilet up stairs Im sure the flapper just needed flipping Im sorry you werent taught that. Yes it is 15 miles from town your in the mts. all roads are curves and hilly never said how long it would take to get to town. And Smoky Mts is on other side of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg PLEASE dont try to make it sound thats my fault. The address is in the information you can google cades cove and my address and see how far apart they are. You should have booked a 300 a night cabin nearer in Gatlinburg..It tells your in a rural area in the mountains. Why you think its would be like a 300 a night or more cabin I dont know. Just because there was a mis understanding about the refund you shouldnt bash a person and the fact there trying to have a place to get away at in the mountains. Im sorry It wasnt up to your standards. Try the town next time.
Horrible! Owner is rude
We booked this place for 4 nights I believe, we had wanted one night earlier and the owner said that it wasn't available she needed to have it cleaned. That was fine. The next day I received a message from her stating that the cleaning lady was running a little late, I sent a message that was fine, we were not going to be there right at 4 (check-in time) anyways. A little later I received a message with the code to get in, so I assumed that meant that the place was ready. So we arrived about 5/5:30 and attempted to put code in; it did not work. There was a man there mowing and he tried, finally after sitting there about 40 minutes in the bugs he was able to get in. We went inside to check out the place (like I think everyone does when they stay somewhere). It smelled horrible, moldy, old smelling and it was disgusting! There was dog hair on the carpet, poop on the toilet seat, the TV would not work, rat poop in the closets where the towels were kept, counter tops were nasty, and stains everywhere. I called the owner and she told me that the people before she had just given their money back because they didn't like the way that it smelled, but because her husband (or some man) was screaming at her in the background she wanted to take it out on me. She began screaming at me telling me that her cleaning person had a sick kid and could not get there and I should understand that. She told me that she contacted VBRO to issue me a refund. However the refund was only for my security deposit and not the full amount! The yard guy said he didn't blame us, he wouldn't spend his vacation cleaning either, on the way out the cleaning lady called and said that she did not have this house on her schedule for that day, and that is why it hadn't been cleaned nothing about a sick kid. This place I am sure could be nice if the owners would air it out and update it... but they are clearly into ripping people off! I am disputing the charges with VBPR/Homeaway. I would urge you to find a different place to stay! I have pictures if you would like to see them! I wouldn't give this one star- but it made me!
Im sorry you have to lie about the situation to try and hurt ne. Yes it wasnt clean as i told you. Iisent the code znd told you it wasntclean yetmb the cleaning lady nevee told you it wasnt clean she saud she was on her way. She had md on three wY calling because we wonted proif.weknow your kind we could tell ftom the responses you had. The lawn maintence never said he wouldnt stay. He has stayedd there in past how we got to know him. Again sorry you have to lie. You cant pleaseeveryone.
Fox Fire Zip Line is less than 1/2 mile from cabin. Fish in creek behind house and wade in the creek on a hot day. You may smell sulfur in the water at times this area was rich in sulfur minds. But it wont hurt you to drink or bath in once your out of the water the smell goes away. Its been tested so its safe. Phones dont always work in the area. Remember your 10 miles out in country down gravel road. But a great place to get away from all the buzy city life, and relax and let the kids play. check in is 4 pm and check out is 10 am
