The Douglas Fir Lodge is a 5,000 square foot, two story, handcrafted log house. This spaciously designed log house sleeps 20 and is situated in the heart of Summit county just 5 minutes from the Keystone/Dillon exit of I70. All resorts for summer and winter fun are 10-30 minutes away. Large recreation center, theaters, outlet shopping and many restaurants are within a few minutes.

The lodge has awesome mountain views from every room and is a great retreat for year-round getaways. Our house is furnished with custom made log furniture, has three master suites, each with private baths and decks. All amenities for comfort and Rocky mountain ambiance are provided. The bedding, including duvet covers, is changed between guests. There are three fireplaces, two living areas, a wrap around deck, in-floor heating, full laundry and an outdoor hot tub. The two-car garage is heated and is a great spot to store ski gear where it is dry and warm. Our large kitchen is fully-equipped and accommodates large meals and many cooks with ease. Kitchen supplies, cleaning and personal care products are eco-friendly. Free high speed wireless internet is included. High definition TV's with TiVo's are in all three master suites as well as in common den area. There is a SONOS music system and Audio CD player system.

We also have for you to enjoy playing Yamaha digital piano, board games, air hockey and foosball tables. For the youngest guests, we have an outdoor playground with a slide, swing sets and monkey bars, as well as baby toys, baby bath tub, walker and high chair.

ALL FEES ARE INCLUDED IN QUOTED RATES. NO CLEANING FEE. LOW SALES TAX.

About Michael & Susanna Khazhinsky

We are a ski and snow-loving family from Austin, Texas. Having a mountain log house was always a dream of ours. We felt in love with the house the first time we saw it. The house is beautifully constructed of Douglas Fir logs trucked down from Canada. It was designed with mountain vacation in mind with plenty of living and sleeping areas to get cozy after a long day outdoors. If you like the winter, you will find the summer even better. The house backs up to National Forest, making hiking or cross country skiing available right out the back door. You might see moose, deer, fox and the occasional bear from your window. Really!

The house is centrally located between Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain and Breckenridge. Just 5 minutes off Interstate 70, in a quiet single family home area on large lots. Situated on the side of Buffalo Mountain, high enough to provide sweeping mountain views. The house is also less than 30 min drive to Vail Resort and about 1 hour drive to Denver.

What makes this house unique

The house has great mountain ambiance: great mountain views, custom made log furniture, etc. The layout of the house is designed to bring families and friends together, while providing private sleeping quarters for everyone. It comfortably sleeps 20. The bedding, including duvet covers, is changed between guests.The home is decorated in a traditional northern rocky-mountain lodge theme and the kitchen is well equipped for the gourmet chef. The house has very quiet and efficient in floor heating system that provides additional comfort in winter months.

The house has three Masters each with its own fireplace, three additional bedrooms, den, and several furnished quiet corners. There is plenty of room to spread out while still being together. The heated garage provides plenty of space for storing ski gear. Long driveway accommodates several vehicles. Private hot tub is for guest enjoyment outside.

The property is locally managed. Kitchen supplies, cleaning and personal care products are eco-friendly. The house has high speed wireless internet, high definition TV's with TiVo in all three master suites as well as in common den area. There is a SONOS music system and Audio CD player system.

Wonderful log cabin in the mountains for a family trip!

Our family has stayed at this home for four years. We love it! The home has everything that is needed for multi-families. There is enough space to relax and enjoy each other. There are plenty of beds, bathrooms, and space. Excellent choice for any summer or winter trip!

Beautiful House!

A group of adults stayed at the Douglas Fir Lodge and found it to be a wonderful place to stay. The house is beautiful! There are plenty of bedrooms with comfortable beds as well as enough bathrooms for everyone. The house is very large with plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped for preparing large meals. Additionally the driveway and garage had enough space for several cars.

Awesome Luxury Home

Our extended family gathers in the Frisco/Silverthorne area every summer. Everyone agreed that the Douglas Fir Lodge is absolutely "The One" we want to return to next summer. The owners are delightful, easy to work with, and very responsive.

The house is beautiful, with lovely, tasteful furnishings and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with most every tool needed to cook multiple meals throughout the week. The fabulous grill is on the large back patio with a view of a tranquil nature area.

We had young children as part of our family group. It was so helpful to have a high chair, toys and gates available. The playscape in the backyard was much enjoyed!

The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds; the bathrooms were equipped with nice shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The house has several areas where our family could gather together, but also offered privacy when desired.

It is in a great location (very quiet surroundings) but has easy access to the highway for excursions to Frisco, Breckenridge, Vail and surrounding areas.

We highly recommend the Douglas Fir Lodge.
