Typical House of 1710 with a spectacular view, Etna and sea the other part, located in TRECASTAGNI near the stairway of the Church of San Nicola, one of the most beautiful and ancient of Sicily. Immersed in the green, having a swimming pool in a unique and very panoramic scenery, in the heart of the historical center of this ancient country. The house is tiled with an ancient Sicilian cooked and furnished with antique furniture, great care in the details. Ideal starting point for excursions on the volcano Etna and visits to nearby beaches, and in the city of Catania, Taormina and Siracusa.

Fabulous holiday with friends
A group of 7 friends have just got home after a weeks stay at this amazing little house in Trecastagni. The house is very old with loads of character but well equipped for a large(ish) group. The garden with several seating areas and a gorgeous pool and views to die for, is a little oasis. Views of the Church, Mount Etna and the sea were just breathtaking. Trecastagni is a great little place with a few excellent restaurants, handy shops selling all essentials (wine, fresh fish, bread etc). The little bakery across the road sold amazing bread, pastries and more and the ladies who worked there were lovely. In fact the people in the town couldn't be more friendly and helpful, just try out your italian and they will go out of their way to help.
Finally, thanks to Carmello and Alessandra for letting us stay in your beautiful house, we all loved it.
You too have been fantastic guests. I hope to welcome you again.
Peaceful property in charming town - recommend
Carmelo and his wife are very pleasant people who guided us through the property on our arrival (although we never got to grips with the refuse collection calendar). Carmelo was up very early every morning maintaining the pool and other than when they went out in their cars we did not see them.
The villa was lovely and very roomy especially as one of our party could not make it at the last minute. It is an old building with all that that entails; it is well furnished and equipped and with the louvered shutters closed very cool (unfortunately this also made it dark which, having a couple of short flights of steps inside was a bit hazardous if the light wasn't on)
The garden was very peaceful as the town was fairly quiet (although there was a religious festival all this month which meant three bangers went off at about 7.30 every morning but fortunately we were already awake). It is not overlooked and very spacious with great vies of Etna. There is plenty of sun-beds, a bbq, dining tables and garden seating.
A previous review complains about the church bells which although they do chime every quarter hour (1 to 12 for the hour and 1 to 3 for the quarter) we generally found them unobtrusive. There are two occasions each day (about 8am and 6pm when they have a fit; probably for some religious reason).
The town has all the amenities required especially an ice cream parlour. As well as Etna there is plenty of places within easy driving to visit (try Aci Castello for a promenade) and we preferred Catania to Palermo. Try and visit places early mainly to avoid the afternoon sun. The island itself is, despite being hilly, very green and pleasant.
When driving don't be timid especially around towns, there seems little regard for traffic laws even from the police.
Overall we thoroughly recommend not only this villa but Sicily.
Great property, good location near centre of small town
Great welcome from Carmelo and Alessandra despite airline delays making us late. They were helpful and supportive throughout our stay without being intrusive. Photos represent the house well, the garden and pool really do look like this! An oasis within easy walking of shops, bars and restaurants of Trecastagni. The property is full of character, with all the facilities and equipment you will need. Spacious for us (5 adults) and would easily accomodate more, although the kitchen is surprisingly small for the size of the house. Mount Etna and the historic towns of Taormina and Syracusa are within an hour's drive if you want to explore further. Overall a wonderful holiday, wish we were still there. Many thanks to Carmelo and Alessandra.
Beautiful Villa with great views.
Really lovely villa. The space outside is amazing with views of Etna and the church tower. Great place to stay.
Fuld valuta for pengene . Kan varmt anbefales.
A wonderful home from home with everything we needed. Beautiful gardens and pool and excellent local amenities.Owned by a lovely couple who are on hand and helpful but never intrusive. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Sicilian holiday experience.
