Meagan and Pete Ross appreciate the need for quiet relaxation. Elizabeth, a very active 5 year old, keeps them quite busy! Meagan, a native of Olympia and Pete, from Glasgow, Scotland, decided to return to her hometown to raise their family. Until they can fulfill their ultimate dream of sailing around the world, they happily make do with the stunning view of Mt. Rainier across Budd Bay Inlet.
Meagan Murphy Ross purchased this cabin in 2013
When choosing a location to reside in Olympia, the east side of Budd Bay Inlet was an easy one. The best of the morning sun, quick access to downtown and the freeways, and the quiet seclusion of the point, is an amazing combination.
Watching the tide coming and going with all its treasure, the marine life at low tide and great heron and other shorebirds are all an absolute pleasure to observe. The stairs lead straight from the cabin door to the beach. Though high tide leaves little beach below, the deck is the perfect spot to enjoy the waves lapping the shore or, in stormy weather, crashing against the breaker wall.
We really enjoyed our stay at your lovely guest house on the water. Each day offered a different perspective on living on the water. Highlights - Mt. Rainier, double rainbow, seals and sunrise! Look forward to returning to this beautiful place in Olympia.
Perfect 1 room, kitchen, balcony pad on Puget Sound, great views, secluded and functional. Look forward to staying again next year. Owner is always available for a question.
The cabin is exactly like the pictures. It was relaxing, no one around & beautiful views! A paradise just 10 minutes out of town.
Very simple, small studio. Perfectly functional for a couple wanting a quiet place to enjoy the Puget Sound and Olympia area. Amazing location. Steps from the water. Wake up early to watch the sun rise over Mt. Rainier. Use the kayaks available. Meagan was wonderfully responsive.
It has a great location, scenery and and view of Mt Ranier. Very relaxing and Megan and Pete are very accommodating. We were there for seven nights and wish it was for longer. JM
This place is so quiet and relaxing! The boathouse has everything you would need for a relaxing stay. The hostess is very responsive. I would highly recommend staying here!
Quaint, cosy, and tasteful.Lovely views. I wish we had time to take out the kayak. Megan was the perfect hostess. If I were ever in the area again, and I may well be as we'd like to go to Mt. Rainier (which is visible on the deck on a clear day), any other accommodation would simply not be acceptable.
Great bicycling around this area - ride to Mud Bay and The Blue Heron Bakery or to the vibrant Westside neighborhood with Vic's Pizza, Skep & Skein, Harts Mesa, Iron Rabbit Restaurant or Olympia Coffee Company.
