This is a wonderful art studio to work in whether your medium is painting, drawing, writing, multimedia, etc. There are three rooms, 15' ceilings, skylights, huge north facing windows looking out on the Sangre de Christo mountains. The main room is 23' by 24', the bedroom is 15' by 19' also with a view of the mountains and then a smaller room and a full bath. There is a simple kitchen with a full sized fridge, microwave, toaster, small convection oven and large 2 burner hotplate. All dishes, pots and pans and kitchen utensils are supplied plus sheets and towels.
It is beautifully quiet here except for the occasional coyote, raven, antelope or owl! There are 4,000 acres of State Trust land right outside the back door and seats are waiting for you to enjoy our magnificent sunsets with no obstructions of your view. We have no street lights out here so your night skies are filled with splendor.
Just 4 miles away is a lovely shopping center with a grocery store, post office, gourmet coffee shop and a number of different types of restaurants are close by.
I've lived in Santa Fe for 35 years, obviously I like it! This is an exciting, beautiful town. There is so much to do if you like music, art and dance.
Belinda Berse purchased this studio in 2003
Eldorado is away from downtown Santa Fe yet not too far away, so you get to enjoy complete peace and quiet and then easily go into downtown for galleries, lots of different restaurants, shopping and museums. It's the best of two worlds. The views from my home are so special, it just makes you take a deep breathe and relax.
I especially like living out here in Eldorado. It's so open and quiet and I enjoy the wild life that I get to see, the natural world is very important to me. Eldorado has many resident artists, we have a weekly farmer's market and a center called La Tienda that has lots of different community events.
I came to Santa Fe with my daughter for a vacation. Originally we planned to stay for four days at the art studio and then continue north for the additional four days of our trip. After spending the first night there, we decided to remain at the studio for our entire trip...and thankfully, Belinda did not have another guest. The art studio provided the perfect accommodations for us! It is a spacious two room studio with a small kitchen and full bath. The ceilings are high and the windows are quite large giving you spectacular views from every side. The space provided plenty of privacy for two adults...and a place to drink a slow cup of coffee in the morning as well as a comfortable place to return to after a day enjoying the local sites. We both live in large urban areas and this was perhaps the most restful trip we have been on. Belinda was a gracious host. We plan to return for another visit. After this experience we would not even consider a traditional hotel/motel, but will plan our trip around the availability of the studio.
If you are any kind of an artist or a wannabe artist, this is the place for you! Fantastic views out of the north facing studio windows - HUGE studio area with plenty of work space for any kind of artistic endeavor - a great little kitchen with everything you need in the way of utensils, plates, pots, etc. The bedroom has large north facing windows as well - you can see the stars and watch the Big Dipper rotate through the night. Sunsets and sunrises are classic Land of Enchantment - 360 degree views. High ceilings with beams in all rooms - nice size bathroom with a view to the west - outside places to sit and watch the sunset or sunrise. Drive into Santa Fe is about 20 minutes.
Belinda is a great hostess who tells you everything you need to know, but does not intrude on your visit. She is always just a phone call away. The two coyotes wandering through the property were just a bonus! This is a very relaxing property where there is no hustle or bustle.
There are many interesting small New Mexico towns to visit and explore in the vicinity around the studio. In May there is a well known artist's open studio tour. Over 100 artists live and work in the area of the studio. Also, in the fall, many small towns have similar open artist studio tours where you can see and meet the artists themselves and buy gifts for the holidays. There is a brand new botanical garden in a magnificent setting on Museum Hill just 20 minutes from the studio.
