Welcome to Crystal Blue Retreat on Eagle Lake
Eagle Lake contains 845 acres of Minnesota’s clearest and cleanest lake with a 24’ Secci disc reading which indicates its extreme clarity. Its Carribean colored water makes you feel like you’re sitting by the ocean. Eagle Lake is one of a kind here in the Heart of Minnesota’s Otter tail lakes area. The lake is lined with sugar sand and the swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving is fantastic. If you look hard enough, you may even find some of it’s Fresh Water Coral. If it’s fishing you like, Eagle Lake is known for its Bass population. More recently, stringers of Walleyes have started showing up more frequently.
The Home was built in 2007 and has a new 14X30 deck overlooking the 75’ Sugar Sand beach. At this time it sleeps up to 15 people with 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and a hide-a-bed. There is a 2 car detached garage available for parking your vehicle. Wireless Internet, paddle boat, 36' dock, beach chairs, fish cleaning station, public access is 1 mile away. Best swimming conditions in the area. Great level shoreline for the kids to play in the water.
Scott and Kate have lived in Alexandria with their family most of their lives. Scott and his wife Kate have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. Living and enjoying the lakes area both Scott and Kate know how valuable our lakes are and how much fun a family can have enjoying them.
Scott Soderholm purchased this house in 2013
It's all about the Lake. Eagle Lake is so clear and uniquely colored that you have to see it to believe it. Fell in love with the lake 15 years ago and have fished it and pontoon-ed it ever since. Grand kids love to snorkel it. One of the few lakes in Minnesota with fresh water coral.
Sandy beach with large 420sq' deck 50' feet from the lake. Level lake shore with excellent swimming. Good Bass fishing. Clear water for snorkeling. Public access for launching your boat is only 1 mile away. Fire pit down by the lake for relaxing in the evenings.
House is very nice. Huge deck to sit out on. The area has excellent fishing.
Inspiration Peak was very colorful and well worth the 8 mile drive. Never knew Ottertail county had so many lakes. Even had a garage for the car.
WOW. Crystal Blue Retreat offered an amazing, relaxing week vacation to my family of 7 from Omaha, NE. We checked in 7/31 and stayed a wk. Scott was great about answering emails, getting us directions/lockbox code. Eagle Lake seems like a very quiet community, not a "party lake". Battle Lake (food/gas) is about 15 minutes away. The cabin is beautiful! The kitchen is perfect sized, with all the equipment (if you're a real coffee aficionado, I recommend perhaps bringing your own Mr. Coffee, as the Toastmaster was a bit glitchy for us--but we are coffee snobs!). The cupboards are stocked with everything you might need from home, all your dishes, pans, mixing bowls, etc... Some basics such as baking soda/tin foil were provided. There are kitchen handtowels/washcloths. Probably best of all--this cabin has a full sized washer and dryer (nicer than mine back home!). There were soap and dryer sheets, but we ended up buying our own, as we weren't sure if those were for our use. There is a bar top with stools, and a 6 person kitchen table. The French doors leading to the living room were great at night when some wanted to play games, and others wanted to read/watch a movie with some quiet. The master bedroom is large, with large double closets and an attached 3/4 bath. The second upstairs bedroom is small, with a full bed. If you're looking for a place to stay with mixed couples/singles, it was a little tricky figuring out sleeping arrangements. There are plenty of beds for sure, but not all of them are private. My husband and I snuggled into the full bed, my parents took the master with king. Downstairs is an open living room area with two twins, a bedroom with 2 queens and a twin, and another half-finished basement room with two more beds. Bonus-there's an extra smaller refrigerator in the basement--perfect for extra beverages. There is a freezer in the garage as well. The rooms were stocked with nightstands/dressers/Kleenex/lamps--everything you could think of! Bring towels. There is a picnic table, small charcoal grill, wooden swing, and plenty of Adirondack chairs, fire pit. Now for the best part--THE LAKE! We have stayed all over MN and this is the CLEANEST and CLEAREST water we've ever seen. I rarely swim outside of pools but I swam every day here. We saw 1 small fish--not a great fishing lake. The water off the dock is chest high and dive-able at the float--PERFECT depth. If you're a swimmer/"water snob" look no further!! BOOK NOW! :)
Just spent a week at the cabin and it was great. The lake is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Wonderful for the grandkids to swim. Cabin had everything you need. Very clean unit. Plenty of room for the family. Owners are very nice and accommodating. We are planning our stay there again next year.
Just spent the week. It was just beautiful. The water is so clean. We r planning on staying again next year. Every year. Only 2 things. Out door garbage can. Also larger weber kettle.
This is the perfect place to get away from it all. It is well-maintained, the owners are easy to work with, and they put a lot of thought into what's needed to make the stay worry-free. The location is quiet, yet close to town if you forget anything. We hope to stay there again!
The owners of this cabin are obviously long time Minnesota Lake Cabin owners. They provide everything you need to catch and eat fish right down to the fish cleaning station, hose, fileting knives, Large skillet, and a freezer to store the fish guts until garbage day. In the fishing boat, they even had a landing net and needle nose pliers to remove the hooks!
The amenities/provisions in the cabin are more than they advertise. We found they do include tissue, toilet and paper towels. Plenty of dishes, utensils, coffee mugs etc.
The two car garage is the largest I have ever seen...replete with a work bench, basic tools and a custom rack to store your fishing poles.
Everything about the place is in "like new" condition. There is a large library of DVD's, and the wireless internet works great. Before going to the grocery store in Battle Lake, check to see what other's may have left behind. We found charcoal, lighter fluid, coffee filters, Bactine, mosquito spray, paper plates, plastic storage bags....lot's of stuff we expected to buy on our own.
The lake is somewhat secluded, with little access except by cabin owners. That means there is not much boat traffic (even over the 4th of July!), and not much pressure on the fish population. We mostly trolled with leaches on Lindy Rigs and caught Walleye, Bass, Sunfish, Rock Bass, and Perch. We never knew what we'd pull in next. There are also Crappies and Northern's in the lake.
We drove there all the way from Tucson AZ for our vacation, and it was well worth the trip.
We went for a short 4 night trip. We had 6 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house was very clean it had everything we needed. The lake view is great, its quiet and relaxing. Loved the large deck and fire pit. The water is clear and the kids had fun fishing off the dock. I would stay there again in a heart beat!!!! This place created great memories for my family :)
