Two guest casitas, one with a kitchen and shower , the other with Zen feel and amazing spa bath. Both have private sitting areas. A cool breeze and warm sun is almost always present in the summer. Beautiful wildflower gardens.
Would like like breakfast cooked for you each morning or just a few? Just ask. Want the fridge stocked from Whole Foods and the farmer's market ............just say the word.
We enjoy serving you.
Couple 50ish, man and wife. We live on site and can help you plan your stay in historic Santa Fe.
Greg Lawton purchased this cottage in 2013
Looking for an oasis in the desert. You found it. Casitas immaculate, well furnished and 600 count Egyptian cotton sheets.
If you enjoy sitting outdoors in the sun or shade you'll love our wildflower gardens. The gentle rustle of the Aspen leaves are calling you.
You may not want to leave.
We fell in love with the well designed feel of Le Relais De Santa Fe. The modern design pays homage to traditional adobe design while incorporating modern design concepts. Furniture is modern rather than southwest. Most of the art is local and original.
In the final analysis it is the outdoor space, well planned and maintained that sets Terrain Santa Fe apart from other homes. Come find a place to sit near one of the fountains, or take a nap in the outdoor sleeping platform and later after a beautiful sunset, light a fire and watch the stars come out.
This is a great place for those looking for a little solitude, with only a 5 minute drive down to Santa Fe plaza area. We went for anniversary trip, and this is just what we were looking for. Greg and Marie were excellent hosts! We stayed in the casita with a fireplace and kitchen, which has a scenic sitting area outside (great for drinking wine, reading, etc.) I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to enjoy all Santa Fe has to offer while at the same time keeping a bit of distance between you and the tourist bustle. Great place to escape to after a day of art crawling and shopping.
We enjoyed a week at Le Relais de Santa Fe in mid-August and enjoyed a splendid vacation. We were in the smaller of the two rooms, which had no kitchen, refrigerator, microwave or TV, and we did not miss any of these "amenities." The Relais has excellent high-speed WiFi and host Greg was kind enough to prepare coffee, fruit and juice for us every day of our stay. Greg and his wife, Marie, also invited us to have wine and cheese with them one evening, and we had a fantastic visit with them. Greg and Marie are wonderful hosts who were willing to speak with us and provide recommendations, but they were never intrusive.
For us, the location of Le Relais was perfect. It is about 10 - 12 minutes from the Santa Fe square and is situated on 9 very quiet acres with beautiful landscaping and fantastic mountain views. The finishes and furnishings in our room were of 5-star quality, especially the luxury bath including a jetted tub for two. We had access to a full size refrigerator and freezer in the adjacent garage, which was all we needed.
Needless to say, we would recommend this spot without hesitation to anyone visiting Santa Fe that is looking for easy access to Santa Fe, but remote enough to feel like you are in the high desert. For two couples renting both rooms, Le Relais is an ideal spot, especially since the larger suite has a full kitchen.
We spent 4 nights in the casita with the kitchen and living room. It was a small private cottage, well decorated, warm, homey, and comfortable. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The bed was large and soft. Wifi was fast, and cell phone coverage was very good. Our stay exceeded expectations. The hosts were the best I could imagine. Greg is a great chef, and seemed to anticipate our every need, while not being intrusive. We stayed at the house much more than I expected, because it was so very pleasant. We did make one trip into town on Saturday for the farmer's market, which was fun, with lots of friendly local folk selling fruits, vegetables, crafts, art, food, and plants, with live music in the background. There are several restaurants nearby that are worth visiting, and the plaza is only 10-15 minutes away. We especially enjoyed Harry's Roadhouse, with its eclectic menu, only a mile or so away. The grounds are mostly in their natural state, with plantings in some areas that add interest (such as small aspen groves). The porch overlooks a pristine arroyo, with masses of colorful wildflowers. I enjoyed photographing the warblers and swarms of hummingbirds. The sunsets were amazing. You could barely see the neighbors from the house. We enjoyed the outdoor covered bed, and the table and chairs on the edge of the arroyo (amid aspens) for watching birds, sunsets, and the amazing sky. It rained almost every day (late monsoon this year), which only made the trip more interesting. I can still hear the distinct sound of the aspens in the wind. I am looking forward to coming back to this beautiful oasis of peace next year!
From the moment we arrived to this beautiful setting and Greg came to greet us, we knew we had chosen a great place to get away. The casita was very comfortable and the huge spa tub looking out onto the private sitting area really added to the experience. In addition to the private spaces, there were numerous other areas to relax in, all in a tranquil setting full of trees and wildflowers. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet, private place to stay near Santa Fe. Greg and Marie made our stay beyond expectations! The accommodations were fantastic and the meals were unbelievable...they were great hosts and we would return again.
It was a quick trip into town and into the mountains to hike, and always nice to return back to our casita or enjoy the outdoor patio bed. Our dog really enjoyed being able to tag along with us.
Thank you again for a great trip!
Most important to mention is the warmth and hospitality of the hosts, Greg and Marie. Secondly, the casita was comfortable, spacious, and was nestled amonst a sea of aspens which are beautiful to watch and hear. We were looking for something near Santa Fe but a little off the beaten path to take advantage of the views and this was it. Only a 15 minute drive to downtown, but you begin and end your day with natural surroundings. It was lovely.
Set in a valley, this property boast 2 separate guest rooms each with private entrance, shower or shower and bath. Idyllic setting, water features, beautiful gardens and wildflowers. Beautiful bird watching in this oasis in the desert. You will not believe the stars at night.
