Enjoy A Family Christmas/New Year: Our friends and family have always enjoyed staying at La Lavande to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
This year we have decided to throw the doors open to guests, so that others may enjoy the peaceful setting, roaring log fire (perfect for marshmallows!), and a chance to have a large family gathering all under one roof.
There are many Christmas markets to visit along the Cote d'Azur, whether you’re looking for a unique Christmas shopping experience or a relaxing Christmas vacation, you can be sure that a holiday in France during the festive season will be truly memorable.
Enjoy A Family Christmas/New Year: In France, it is traditional to gather after the midnight mass and have a huge feast, composed of festive foods, particular to each region.
The larger towns and cities will often have a Christmas market running from late November until late December. In some places this takes the form of a Christmas village, set up with markets, food stalls and activities, particularly for children.
Things to do/Local Information: In the villa we have lots of information; from where the local markets are held each day, to where you can go jet ski-ing.
Everything for the family is only a few minutes drive away.
Not everything is on the coast, and you will find many things to do for all the family nearby.
Examples of Ideas:
St Paul de Vence: La Fondation Maeght (art in the heart of nature).
Vence: Chapelle Matisse (designed and decorated by Henri Matisse)
Villeneuve-Loubet: Play all day in the forest, tree climbing, giant maze, adventure parks for all the family to enjoy
Antibes/Biot: Marineland, Aqua-Splash, the Picasso museum, Visiobulle (explore the underwater world from a glass-bottomed boat).
Grasse: The perfume capital of the world, also caves and grottos to explore.
Nice: Parc Phoenix (where you can enjoy flora and fauna), the castle ruins on top of a high rock hill overlooking Nice old town and the port (take the the little train and enjoy the ride!)
...and many more things to do and see
Paul, Fiona, Zac and Amelia live just outside Tunbridge Wells
Mr Paul Ribbins purchased this villa in 2006
They purchased the property and promptly set about a complete garden renovation to create an oasis of tranquility and beauty with stunning views of the mountains above Tourrettes sur Loup, the neighbouring vineyard and the blue skies!
Multiple external seating areas around the property mean there is always somewhere to retreat to if the conversation is proving too taxing or the kids want another game of boules.....
I had the best night's sleep that I have had for years.
The main bedroom is like something out of 'Les Liaison Dangereuse!!
La Lavande was everything we expected and more. We had a brilliant week, wonderful outdoor meals cooked in the very well equipped kitchen and on the barbecue. The pool was great - the wood boarded surround meant that we weren't worried about excited children running and falling on slippery tiles. When we weren't lazing by the pool there were toys for the youngest, DVD's and cards for the evening. The nearby village of Tourrettes-Sur-Loup where we had a couple of delicious meals is charming. The whole family agreed it was one of the best weeks ever.
We just had a 9 night stay at this beautiful house, with a family group including young and old. It is very well equipped, and well maintained, there is plenty of outdoor space and a beautiful pool. It is very close to the lovely town of Tourettes Sur Loup and just a little bit further to the beaches. The owner was very responsive and helpful to all my requests and enquiries. I would definitely recommend this house and hope to get back there sometime soon in the future.
Tourrettes sur Loup sits in a striking location where its medieval buildings cling on to a rocky outcrop with excellent views all the way down to the coast and Cap d'Antibes.
The word Loup in the name is for the River Loup which runs through steep rocky valleys nearby. Loup is the French word for wolf.
Tourrettes was a fortified village, and the arched passages remain through the wall of houses in three places into the centre of the 'vieux village'.
Wander through the medieval streets, explore artists workshops, watch a game of boules in the square, visit the local market, eat lunch or enjoy a drink in the sunshine at a lively cafe bar or in the evening enjoy an excellent dinner at one of Tourrettes delightful restaurants, many with outside terraces.
Also known as the 'Cite des Violettes' because of its historical association with the local growing of violets for the nearby perfume industry in Grasse.
Golf: There are various Golf Courses around the area. Opio is the nearest course, but do contact us if you wish for more information, so that you can book in advance.
Ski: The villa is 40 minutes from the small ski resort of Greolieres Les Neiges and 1h 30mins from the resorts of Auron and Isola 2000.
