Located in Southern Utah, Duck Creek Village is nearly on top of Cedar Mountain. If you love the outdoors you will love this hidden treasure getaway. This property sits inside Dixie National Forest ( ride your ATV out the driveway and you have 2 million acres to explore) near Navajo Lake (sometimes good fishing), Cedar Breaks National Monument, Brian Head Ski and Summer Resort (famous for no lift lines), and Panguitch Lake (consistently good fishing) are all within a 20 minute drive of Duck Creek Village. Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park along with the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument are each less than 45 minutes away. This is your base camp for day trips to some of the most amazing sights, parks and locations in the USA.
Local village with restaurants and groceries is just a few minutes away and through the forest on your ATV, dirt bike or Side by Side. There are more than 500 miles of ATV trails in our immediate area connecting to a system of over 2000 miles. ATV rentals are available in the village. ATVs and snowmobiles can be ridden from the cabin to the trail system, no trailer needed.
Although this cabin only has 2 bedrooms, we are willing to accommodate larger groups with notice. We have beds and pull outs for 10 people. The pull outs are high quality and actually comfortable, not the horrid bed with a bar in the middle that makes you end up on the floor for comfort. This cabin has over 2300 square feet and most of it is open. Great gathering area. We also have a fire pit right off the lower patio, perfect for roasting marshmallows. The upper deck (over 400 sq ft) is covered and right in the forest with large pine trees just a few feet from the railing and patio seating to enjoy the full outdoor experience without the weather. Deck has a smoker and a grill for your use. Spend a little quiet time on the deck or patio and expect to see deer, squirrels and an array of birds including the occasional turkey. Antelope summer in the meadow below.
Pool table for a family tournament in the walk out basement and a great video/sound system with a few movies in the same room. Bring your own DVD's or rent some in the Village. You'll want to have an excuse to ride over to the village anyway as its a fun way to see the area and the outdoors.
This cabin is made for ATVer's. Bring or rent your ATV's and enjoy exploring, playing, or just using it for transportation. When our family visits we park the car and only use ATV's or snowmobiles for transportation while on the mountain, even to go fishing or to the store.
Our family comes from all over the nation and Canada. We wanted a central family retreat.
This is our family vacation home that we just started renting to others. We call it the Root Beer Rendezvous because we are 'root beer nuts.' We have lots of empty bottles, and usually, if we didn't drink them all, have a few samples left in the fridge for our guests to enjoy.
Megan purchased this cabin in 2013
We originally purchased this as our getaway, but we couldn't 'get away' to it as much as we hoped and wanted to share this gem with others.
We viewed almost every property for sale in Duck Creek and couldn't find one with this much open space or beauty. Inside is beautiful and we just couldn't pass it up.
We loved our stay at the Root Beer Rendezvous! The owners take great care of the cabin. Very clean. There were toys for our little ones to play with. Games, pool table. Great location (near Bryce and Zion's). We cooked steak on the grill and roasted marshmallows on the fire. Loved it, and look forward to staying here again.
We would definitely look into booking this property again! Thank you
We absolutely loved our stay at the Root Beer Rendezvous. We had a great family weekend and this cabin made it very special. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck watching deer walk through the property and then later roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit. The downstairs is incredible with a large sectional with plenty of seating for a large family. We enjoyed kicking back and watching movies while others played pool. This truly is a spectacular cabin that is beautiful and very comfortable. The owner was very good to work with too. Thank you Megan, we hope to visit Root Beer Rendezvous again!
As I said the cabin itself is beautiful, however, the three pages of rules and regulations are enough to make anyone worry themselves sick. I have rented several places all over through Homeaway and never had this happen before. To be told its not kid proof and to be required to purchase an insurance to cover up to $3,00.00 in damage is not right. We were also informed no shoes and not to use the driveway which made it nearly impossible for Grandpa to get to the cabin. He actually refused to go to the lake so that he didn't have to do the scary trail again. I watched my Grandkids like a hawk. I understand it is the owners piece of heaven, but why rent if you hate dirt and dust? It is a cabin. I've rented a cabin closer to Panguitch lake and will be renting it in the future. The owner is personable and we can wear shoes.
The cabin was well stocked with all the needed conveniences to make everyone feel at home. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Root Beer Rendezvous was a great place to relax at the end of our day. It is located between Bryce and Zion National Parks and allowed us flexibility to visit both parks throughout our week stay. We rented atvs for a 1/2 day and took advantage of the lovely land around the cabin and local town.Duck Creek Village is small and the people are very friendly. Cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. Owner was very responsive when we had questions. I would recommend this property to friends and family.
