The very best of Brooklyn is at your doorstep in this modern, sundrenched oasis on a leafy brownstone block. In a high-security, doorman building, this large (1000sq.ft.), private 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment has open living and dining spaces, high ceilings, hardwood floors and a fully equipped kitchen. But the inside is only the half of it. Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors open onto 1000sq.ft of lushly planted terrace space that literally wraps around the entire apartment. Dine al fresco under a pergola covered in wisteria overlooking a historic church or sunbathe surrounded by Japanese maples, junipers and pines. Master bedroom also opens onto terrace space.
The apartment is beautifully furnished with top-of-the-line beds and linens, flat screen TVs, fast WI-Fi and contemporary art. Washer/dryer in the apartment. State-of-the-art building includes a gym. On-site indoor parking space negotiable.
Fort Greene is one of NYC's favorite neighborhoods, known for its diversity and populated by artists, musicians, actors and others who enjoy the eclectic, laid back neighborhood vibe. There are literally hundreds of restaurants, boutiques, bars, cafes, parks and playgrounds within easy waking distance. Local favorites like Habana Outpost, The Smoke Joint and the Der Shwarze Kolner Biergarten are minutes away as are the Brooklyn Flea, the Barclays Center and the internationally renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
Fort Greene Park is 2 blocks away and the Barclay center is a 5 minute walk. 2 blocks to the C train, 4 blocks to Atlantic Terminal (2,3,4,5,N,Q,B,D,R,M and LIRR). 10 minutes to Soho by car.

We spent an absolutely fantastic month in the Green House apartment! Perfect, safe and fantastic neighborhood - we always looked forward to returning to our Brooklyn oasis. Dekalb and Fulton streets are exciting for night life and dining. Each one of us had our own favorite restaurant though our favorite dinners were long and late dinners on the terrace under the stars. Fantastic walking neighborhood with Ft Greene Park and Prospect Park very close for joggers. Easy subway travel via the G Train to the rest of Brooklyn and the C/A Trains to JFK (typical travel time 40 minutes). You don't need a car. We started planning our return for next summer while we were still in Brooklyn - we all loved Ft. Greene Apartment.
We stayed in this apartment this June. We loved the garden terrace and main living area. The kitchen is well equipped and it is in a perfect location for the Fort Greene area.
This was the first time my husband and I (and our 2 small dogs) stayed in an apt. for such a long period of time. I can say without hesitation that this is a lovely apt. made extra special by the beautiful u-shaped terrace with its lovely plantings. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the pots, dishes, utensils,, etc. that you would need, and we were able to cook many meals there. As I am a small person, I found the oversize furniture to be not very comfortable. However, the master bed, the linens and towels, the convenience of having a washer/dryer and 2 very nice bathrooms were big plusses. Also having the full use of spacious closets--1 in each bedroom--and generous cabinets in the bathrooms was very helpful to us. Inside the apt. you do not hear noise from the other apt. dwellers or from street traffic. Eric and Jeff were good to deal with, considering they don't live very close by. There were issues (things do happen in 3 months!) and they did their very best to resolve them as quickly as they could. The building's supers are very responsive and helpful and the building's public spaces are kept very clean. Now for the neighborhood: It's the best! You are 4-5 blocks away from multiple subway lines and about the same distance from Ft. Greene Park--our stop every morning with the dogs. A beautiful park in every way. Brooklyn Academy of Music and other cultural establishments are within a 5-10 minute walk. As has already been commented on, the restaurants, cafes and shops in the neighborhood are excellent. The building is located on one of the many beautiful tree-lined streets of Ft. Greene. Though this is a relatively new building, it is surrounded by mostly charming brownstones. You won't be disappointed.
Our stay at the Forte Greene apartment was terrific. It's a lovely two bedder with two bathrooms and a lovely green terrace, it's very bright and cheery. The kitchen was well stocked, loads of linen, washing machine and fantastic location right near the subway. The neighbourhood is relaxed with great services, nice restaurants and bars and 24 hour bodaga's.
We would definitely use it again.
What a gorgeous apartment and fabulous neighborhood. The owners, Eric and Jeffrey deserve an award for best service and accommodations. JetBlue cancelled our inbound flight and we lost one day of travel. Jeffrey told us not to worry and simply shifted our begin and end dates for the rental. Wow! Loved that. Eric greeted us and showed us the ropes. The apartment looks better than in the listing. The outside wraparound deck is beautiful. A little sanctuary and gem all under one roof. Do not hesitate, book with confidence. A fantastic trip made all the better with such an artistic, well appointed and perfectly located home away from home.
In the past we have always overpaid for some tiny piece of junk in Manhattan, but never again. We will always stay here when we're in New York. Manhattan is easy by car or subway from here. We travel much of the time and have utilized VRBO all around the world, and this is the best VRBO we've ever rented, anywhere. It was clean, comfortable and beautifully done, with an exquisitely landscaped deck that was like having our own park. It was a deeply appreciated oasis in a super neighborhood. We cook, and the kitchen was the best stocked of any thus far also. We could cook ourselves or order in and eat on the deck. Great coffee nearby and many restaurants. Owners were extremely helpful. It was more than wonderful! I would definitely recommend this to anyone I truly cared about. The Annex, right next to an amazing independent bookstore, has great coffee, and Hungry Ghost has an egg chair that's worth waiting to sit in. If they rented it full time I'd consider living in Brooklyn! Fort Greene is the best neighborhood and this is the best holiday rental.
