Pernera + Paralmini: Pernera, 5 minutes drive away, quieter than Protaras+ Ayia Napa, but one of the prettiest. Stroll down main street winding down to sea front, pass many bars+ international+traditional restaurants. Several sandy bays perfect for families as shallow crystal clear calm waters great for bathing+ snorkelling. For the more energetic, there’s an array of water sports. Fancy a boat trip, Pernera’s harbour has everything from leisurely cruises to high energy power boat rides. Several organized fishing trips + a modern catamaran also sail from the harbour or just chill out at the waterfront café where you can take in the beautiful ocean and watch the world go by. You’ll also find a pretty church which is set within a beautiful courtyard with an ornamental fountain+well maintained gardens.

Paralimini, 5 minute drive, bustling traditional town retaining it’s old charm, picturesque narrow streets and it's beautiful square situated around a stunning Church. Great tavernas and boutique shopping.

Protaras: 8 minute drive away, popular with singles, couples+ families. Overlooking the resort is the elegant Ayios Elias church, beautifully lit up at night, the surrounding countryside scattered with the famous Protaras windmills giving an aura of nostalgia of years gone by. Quieter + more family orientated than Ayia Napa, Protaras boasts dramatic coastal scenery, turquoise blue water, endless white sandy beaches with lifeguards+Blue Flag rated for service+ quality, secluded coves perfect for snorkelling + diving – it’s most famous and arguably best beach in Cyprus is Fig Tree Bay stretching over 10 miles and fringed by pine trees. If lying on golden sandy beaches is not energetic enough, there’s a huge choice of water sports. Children will love 'Yellow Submarine' + 'Glass Bottomed Boat'. Geat choice of traditional, modern and international cuisine, shops, tavernas, bars and a couple of nightclub. Family entertainment on offer, from crazy golf, aquarium, waterpark, dancing water show.

Ayia Napa: 12 minute drive away+15 minutes to the famous award winning Ayia Napa Waterpark. Ayia Napa has long since shed it’s wild party image of the late 90’s and in reality offers the best of both worlds. On one hand, the resort's a buzzing cosmopolitan beach resort with many trendy bars, an array of restaurants with international and traditional cuisine and boasts cutting-edge world famous clubs. On the other hand, there's a more tranquil side to this once tiny fishing village. Beautiful snow-white beaches, narrow cobbled streets and serene shady squares with traditional tavernas all show off a different side to Ayia Napa. Visit the medieval monastery and stroll around its gorgeous gardens. Chill out on the white sands of the famous Nissi Beach where the crystal blue water shimmers just a few kilometres west of the harbour. Pull up a chair at a pavement cafe in the atmospheric main square+ watch the world go by or for the more energetic choose from an array of watersports or try the bungee

However, please note the bathroom is not specifically modified for disabled use but is accessible for those with limited mobility. Parents please be aware that there are no lifeguards on duty around either of the communal pools. Although we have said a car is not necessary and we believe it isn't as you have 2 pools, amazing choice of restaurants (3 of which feature in Time Out Guide Cyprus), pubs, wine bars, sandy beach, supermarket all within 5-10 min walking distance and then between 5-15 min taxi or bus journey away if you want to go to the traditional town of Parlamini or bigger beach side resorts of Penera, Protaras and Ayia Napa, a car would allow you to tour the rest of this small beautiful island.

Great Place, Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 10 days in Paralimni. Kirsty's apartment is lovely - beautifully decorated and really well-equipped - and it's an easy walk to some lovely little beaches and great restaurants. We travelled in November, when the weather was still good, and although some places were closed as the official holiday season was over, there was still more than enough to see, do and eat, and enough sunshine to get on the beach every day and enjoy a drink on the balcony before going out to dinner. The apartment's also a great base to explore the east side of the island and we visited Protaras, Ayia Napa (Nissi Beach, in particular, is beautiful), Cape Greko and watched the world go by, sat in Church Square in Paralimni. We could also see the ghost town of Famagusta from the apartment so went to find out more at the Viewpoint Cafe, near the Turkish-side border, which was fascinating. And it's all just a 40 minute drive from the airport.

We'd highly recommend the area and, in particular, Kirsty's apartment as a great place to stay.

Paradise in Cyprus

  • 5 of 5

The property was for us ideally situated , the apartment was excellent, very clean and fresh ,it was home from home everything we could of needed was there,my husbands mobility is not good but it was not an issue being on the first floor, there was a lift available which fitted a mobility scooter in ,which was hired from Holi-hire delivered and collected at a very reasonable price..The apartment is situated not far from from the beach or the main road of Kaparris, with English pubs and restaurants to choose from if you want to eat out and take always if you want to take your food home. There are nice walks to take along the coast with seats along the way to sit and take the view in, the complex manager ,Brian and his wife are a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble for them

Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

We love Cyprus and have visited the island many times over the years staying at many different apartments and resorts. However, I have to say Kirsty's apartment beats them hands down and offers everything you need in terms of location, cleanliness, comfort with some added little touches (compared to the usual standard of apartments) but best of all without the added expense that you would expect for the standard you get. We will definatley be choosing this as our base when we visit in the future as it ticks all our boxes as a family. We loved the fact that we were able to see the pool from the balcony so we could keep a close eye on our son meaning we could chill out on the balcony and enjoy the sea view and the Famagusta coast line. It was only a short few minutes stroll to the local supermarket, a great choice of bars, beautiful restaurants with gorgeous food, bakeries and Firemans Cove the lovely sandy beach which our son loved. Although we had enough to keep us occupied for the time we had on our holiday we did hire a car and enjoyed exploring the little beaches, many of which were only a short few minutes drive away. A fantastic apartment with an even better location. Thanks Kirsty for all your helpful advice and your patience with all our questions. Mr and Mrs Nelson.

Good clean & functional base to holiday from.

  • 4 of 5

Really nice owners which were very helpful and accommodating and easy to talk to. Apartment is on an open complex that seems a little incomplete (bar finishing touches). Area was previously rural & agricultural, but a 4-5min drive to the main road is where a few shops & restaurants are. Really useful & large "Metro" supermarket in this area also, so no problem getting supplies.

Apartment served us well, with air-con and everything else you'd need available. Although 2 bed rooms, plus open plan kitchen lounge, it felt small, with nowhere to put casual belongings, which I didn't notice until I repeatedly wanted to put things down, & realised there was nowhere - (i.e. no dresser, sideboard, or even a chair to put clothes on. Ample room in wardrobes & draws, just no surfaces.

Satellite TV was a bit of a let down, as virtually no English or Cypriot channels found, even though we had access to 7 satellites & hundreds of channels, as advised. They were all Arabic or other languages. Not a major, just assumed some UK channels would be available.

Some of the furniture (Dinning room chairs & lounge sofa in particular) need replacing, as simply worn out through use; again, nothing major, just an observation. The "Sea view" is something I would attribute to an estate agents blurb, but there is technically a sea view, so it can't be argued - and again, not a major, but some people might be disappointed or more expectant.

The two pools are both close, but quite small and don't permit diving; OK for a quick dip etc. The lift was constantly boiling, due to the type of strip lights inside giving off loads of heat, {Not owners fault obviously}, but some replacement LED lights would solve this issue instantly.

Apart from the odd dog barking, (which is entirely natural behaviour and completely their owners fault NOT the dogs), the whole area was quiet and calm. FYI - I noted the notice about barking dog complaints on the ground floor notice board, and I stress, it's Not the dogs fault, (especially if they're left all day on their own), which appeared to be the case.

All in all, this is a nice reasonable location to visit several places of interest from, that aren't too far. As mentioned, it's only 4-5 min drive from the local hub (which is in turn very close to the nearest beach). If you want more life, stay in Ayia Napa, but this is a good cheaper compromise that suited us well. Thanks Kirsty, appreciated and welcome break made very nice :) x

Owner's Response: Thank you for your detailed review, I'm glad you had a nice time and found us helpful. Reviews are very important to us, allow us to continue to be at the top of the search engine for the most 5 star reviewed apartment in the Kapparis, Famagusta area.  To address a couple of your points.   I'm not clear by the complex being "incomplete", all building works were completed a few years ago and is very much complete but it is very quiet with only a few 'full time' residents - a huge benefit I would say. I'm sorry you didn't feel the pools were big enough but they are 12 x 5m and 10 x 5m. offering ample swimming opportunities. I include photos of the pool and the sea view to give my guests an accurate picture of the apartment allowing them to make an informed decision. Photo 7 and as stated on our listing, there is a sea and Famagusta view, in fact from each room you can actually see the sea.  We are only a 5 - 6 minute walk to Fireman's Cove, the local beach and you can enjoy  the sea view from our balcony. There are shelves in the bathroom, 2 bedside cabinets in the main bedroom and a table in the twin bedroom all giving you ample space to store smaller belongings but I am sorry you felt this was not enough. Thank you for your feedback on the dinning chairs, we update, paint and refresh every few years ready for the new season.  It is very important to us that our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and offer a high standard of accommodation for a very competitive and cost effective price.
