About the property

1 Bedroom * 1 Bath * Sleeps 2-4

Welcome to Mountain Cove Cabins, which include our Brook Trout and Black Bear Cabin. These “true log” cabins are located in the heart of the North Georgia Mountain wine country and in the foothills of the Blue Ridge National Forest. They are definitely the perfect vacation destination for folks looking to be at the epicenter of mountain festivities – while enjoying the beauty and solitude of the Appalachian Mountains.

The cabins are next door to the waterfalls and swimming holes of Waters Creek, the AT access on Blood Mountain and the historic Turner’s Corners Café. Located smack-dab between Helen and Dahlonega, Cleveland and Blairsville, there are endless mountain activities to explore. There are 8 vineyards within a 15-mile radius with Frogtown and Three Sisters only 5 miles down the road.

The cabins are in the National Forest off of Hwy 19. You will turn off of 19 on to a beautiful one lane paved road that winds back into the mountains beside a creek and several waterfalls. You’ll go 1.5 miles until you see an old log cabin with a big pine knot and a garden on your left. Turn left and drive up the mountain. If you don’t turn left you will dead-end into the National Forest and possibly be eaten by a bear.

Newly renovated, decorated and accommodated for welcomed guests, the cabins have a nice log queen-size bed, foldout couch, flat-screen TV, standard kitchen with new appliances and a remodeled bathroom. Laundry services can be provided with advanced notice. Each cabin has a porch with rocking chairs that looks out over the forest. There are seasonal mountain views and a creek below the cabins.

Go hiking, fishing, rafting, gold panning, swimming, biking, horseback riding, wine tasting, golfing, tubing or just relaxing in the rocking chairs on the porch. We sincerely hope that you enjoy these precious little mountain getaways as much as we have enjoyed growing up here.

About owner/property manager

We are what folks call - 'Nuggets', which is a slang term for the local mountain folks. Mark & I grew up in the mountains of northern Lumpkin County, waited a long time to get married and finally tied the knot a few years ago. We are parents to a beautiful, smart and funny 3 year old, one spoiled rotten diva-mutt and a grouchy 20 year old cat. We waited a long time to get married so that we could travel the world and wanted to give back to the wanderlust spirit by opening our cabins to people of the same heart. While we do not travel as much now, we continue to spend our free time playing in the woods of the beautiful mountains we call home.

We were very satisfied with our stay at this cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean and well kept. The owner Brooke was very responsive and the service was excellent! The caretake, Joyce lives in one of the cabins below and is very friendly and willing to assist. We arrived way after midnight and found they left the porch light on for us and the key easily accesible which was very welcoming considering it was very dark and we were unfamiliar with the small winding roads, making it difficult for us being we are from Miami, Florida were everything is flat. During our stay we could not find the iron and it was immediately delivered to our door, truly great service and hospitality. The Cabin is very well equipped with anything you could possibly need. The attention to detail was very impressive including the very well put together welcome binder. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat tucked away in the mountain yet close to everything the area has to Offer. This was our first time visiting this part of Georgia, and we fell in love with the beautiful scenery. The front porch was a great spot for sitting on the rustic rocking chairs and drinking a hot cup of coffee while taking in the beautiful colors of fall. Overall a great experience. Thank you Brooke.

Quiet cabin nestled in mountain area in North Georgia

  • 4 of 5

My husband went up to this area for my birthday. There is a lot of outdoor activities to do we were able to go to an apple festival while we were there. the cabin was in a quiet location and is centrally located to get to different surrounding areas. The owner had a notebook there referencing all the places to go hiking and sightseeing and activities to see and do in the surrounding areas which was very helpful. Wish we had more time to do things the weekend went by too quickly. The cabin was neat and clean. Unfortunately the second night we were there the power went out and we were without electricity so we left early the next morning. Perhaps the owners might consider having a back up generator in case this would happen again in the future. We enjoyed our time there.

We enjoyed our cabin stay. The cabin is centrally located to hiking, cycling, and wineries, all of which is thoroughly laid out in the welcome binder. The cabin had everything we needed and was clean. We would definitely come back.

Quiet, peaceful get-away

  • 5 of 5

We love these cabins! There are two small cabins at the top of a hill. They're clean, cozy and well kept. We rented one for the weekend and have really enjoyed a stress-free weekend. Brooke is very sweet and responsive and does a great job managing these rentals. This is our second stay and we are already planning our next visit! The atmosphere and vibe up here is very tranquil. We had a great time reading, cooking and visiting local wineries. We're headed out today for a hike before returning home. Thanks for a great weekend!

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was excellent. Absolutely perfect for a quick getaway to the wineries. Stocked with everything you could need and then some. The porch was a great spot to end the nights sipping on a glass of wine by candlelight. Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a place in North GA. Thank you Brooke for a great little stay
