This cabin is much larger than it looks in the pictures. We stayed during Thanksgiving and the kitchen had just about everything we needed to prepare the meal. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are so soft. It was the cleanest cabin I have ever visited. The driveway is difficult to get in and out. We had 2 large 4- wheel drive vehicles and had to back in to the cabin above, as there is no room to turn around. There was no one at the other cabin but if there had been it would have been tricky to park. The lake is really almost gone but it was still a great view in the mornings from the rocking chairs on the deck. We left the night before the fire in Gatlinburg. I love Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge and my heart goes out to all the wonderful people that lost loved ones and homes. If you want to help these people continue to visit as this is their livelihood.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hide-a-way with a view. Cabin was large and cozy with a beautiful view. We love this area and this cabin made us feel at home. We did not want to leave!!!! Will definitely say here again.
Was concerned about drive into town each day but was not an issue at all. Outstanding view. Very clean and well maintained. Will definately stay here again.
We enjoyed our recent visit to the cabin. It was a beautiful view and great cabin. The owner was very easy to work with. We hope to return again someday.
Our week on the lake in the cabin was awesome. First impression was how clean the cabin was. We come to that area at least once a year and we have stayed in a lot of cabins, but this cabin was by far the best one. Our only disappointment was the lake water was down quite a bit, so the pier and deck was slanted terribly, which my husband took a slide down the pier trying to get our kayaks to the water. But we had a wonderful and relaxing time in this spot, and we will be back to rent this place again!! The view was beautiful! Thanks to Jena who was always on top of my questions with her quick responses, and texting me the day we arrived to let me know the cabin was ready. Customer service is key to repeat customers! She was wonderful! Thank you for a great place and experience!!
I found this cabin by doing a Google search of Lake Douglas and from the pictures thought it looked nice. Of course what you see on-line isn't always what you get but I can say it met my expectations and then some. The cabin itself was great and the views were even better. The area has plenty of attractions so we spent the days out and about and then came back in time to sit in the rocking chairs on the deck overlooking the lake, watching the sunset, and listening to the sounds of nature. The only slight negative is that access to the lake is very steep so anyone who would like to use the lake from the cabin should take that into account. It does have a floating dock and the level of the lake was very low but this was one of the only docks that was still in the water so that a boat could still dock. Overall I would highly recommend this cabin and I am hoping one day to come back with my whole family when the fishing is better.
