"I don't really want to share this gem..."
But must compliment the owners for a fabulous property. My gal pals and I stayed in this home and we could not have been happier. The only problem was that we had too many activities planned. All I wanted to do was stare at the vistas and hang out on the balconies. The folks who met us as we barreled up the hill could not have been nicer!
We all loved the place, and it was cozy, clean, spacious, quirky, classy and more. The owners are very generous folks. Thanks again!
Zamar house was awesome. It is so adorable, neat, and clean. The views from the deck are amazing, can see the whole redrock valley to the San Francisco peaks in Flagstaff. It is on a very steep street, with lots of stairs, so if you have physical limitations, could be tricky, but if not, go for it. We were a group of five and there was plenty of room for all of us. Three baths, one even had a claw foot tub that provided a relaxing bubble bath! The house had all the things we needed from pots and pans to spices, tv, and appliances were all very updated, except no microwave. Would suggest checking in before dark, glad we did, just to figure out the area before the sun sets. Access to the area sights was easy to drive to. I would highly recommend this property and Gretchen was wonderful to work with. Thanks for a Great weekend, Jerome!
Our family was completely amazed at this house, and also for the town of Jerome. This little community is a quaint. With the population number of permanent residents ranging from 300-400, the locals much cater to tourists and preserve the copious amount of history, of which they are very proud. This amazing home captures exactly that ambiance. Over 114 years old, this house has all the Victorian charm you could expect. Much care and detail has been taken to elevate the feeling of opulent living of the early 1900s in it's décor concurrently with modern-day amenities in a very well-kept, clean home. We found ourselves staying indoors for an evening just to enjoy this place and it's views. Yes, it is true that the roads...well "historic" is euphemistic verbiage for "beat up". Furthermore, so is the whole town! Jerome is literally built on a cliff and it's residents are expected to provide independent upkeep of the roads. So with that being said, I would say even this aspect adds to the charm of this place, and at least you have your own private parking lot there that is level so you are not parked on a steep incline like many other cars there. We look forward to our next stay at the Zamar House and to visiting Jerome. Be sure to check out the Haunted History Tour and visit with the friendly locals and you will truly enjoy your stay.
We were very excited for our stay at Zamar House - not only did it not disappoint, but it exceeded our expectations. The house is incredibly comfortable and decorated in an eclectic style. Everything we needed was included. I must mention the beds - the mattresses were fantastic! We have rented 7 different properties in Jerome over the years and this is far and away our favorite. We will return and highly recommend this property for anyone looking to explore beautiful Jerome.
The house itself is very nice once we were able to find it. The road is not paved well, and very narrow, so we had loop around a second time to locate parking. Luckily rhe parking pad is spacious and flat. Ther are a lot of stairs, so do not stay here is you have any physical ailments. There are four bedrooms, two upstairs and two downstairs, but are not connected except by an outdoor staircase. This is fine if you are staying with a group of adults, but if you have a bunch of kids and want to all be together, this house would not be ideal for that situation. One of the upstairs bedrooms only had a single bed, and little temperature regulation....could have been an old porch that was closed in at some point. The town is not far away, but there isnt really a great way to walk there, especially at night as the sidewalks are not consistent, and the road is windy. Our only other complaint was that the keys to enter the home were not in the spot they were stated they would be....we had to contact the owner when we arrived to find them.....this info would have been nice to be communicated before our arrival to avoid concern and confusion.
Overall we were happy with our stay, and the house worked ok for our family with two small children......but can see how it wouldnt work for many others.
What a jewel. This is a must stay location. The home is gorgeous and comfortable. We will be back!!
The property was very cute and accommodations were comfortable. The rooms upstairs were a little warm but we did go in the middle of a heat wave. It seemed as though a renter had just left before we got there as the dryer was still runnng and the code had been changed without notice, but Gretchen rectified the situation promptly. Would definitely rent again!
