Cute apartment in a great neighborhood, but definitely not perfect.

  • 2 of 5

The flat is clean and in a great neighborhood - quiet with lots to do, great restaurants, and funky bars. The neighborhood felt safe and we enjoyed walking around.

The owner initially told me I could Paypal her the additional money for an additional guest, but the week of, changed her mind and wanted me to deliver cash to her apartment several blocks away. She only leaves one roll of toilet paper because she said people steal it, along with her iron and hair dryer which she also said she would not leave. The cabinets are chained and padlocked shut. She asked me to leave the key behind so the Direct TV service guy could come and fix the tv. I asked (and paid) for 3 beds, but only 2 were made. At checkout, the cleaning lady arrived a half hour before we were required be out of the unit.

Overall, it is convenient, clean, and in a great neighborhood. However, I would not stay here again. It certainly did not feel homey and welcoming, the way I usually feel when I book a VRBO.

Owner's Response: I want to address points in review- If something was missing one generally tells someone and they have the opportunity to address it. Guest did not do that. I no longer leave irons or hairdryers because unfortunately I have experienced guests do take them and I do not wish to Constantly replace. Bring your own! Same applies to toilet paper. If that's a deal breaker for you please don't stay. You get one roll and I'm frankly tired of guests who expect me at midnight to go out and service their toilet paper needs. There is a market up the block.. Regarding the "Demand" for cash I do not demand of any guest but if you expect me to accommodate your last minute request please expect to pay for that service. If a cleaner arrives early you always have the option of saying my time is this time and declining . No One forces you to leave early or call me so I can address someone who has come early to clean. I wish this traveller a more positive Experience in his/ her future rentals. If you look at the major things that were said it was clean, close to everything and great location I believe that is important - we are all different though and happy travels to all.

Great location, very clean

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here to be close to Rockefeller center and the Times Square area. It was an easy 15 minute walk right up 9th to get to the "hot spots". The apartment itself is in a nice, quiet, seemingly very safe neighborhood. There are many options for restaurants right outside your door step. There are many parking garages within 1-2 blocks if driving in like we did. The apartment was very clean and definitely more spacious than a hotel room. It can easily fit 4 people with no issues. The owner was very easy to work with and quickly responded to our texts upon arrival. I would highly recommend staying here.

My sister and I had a wonderful trip to the city. The location of the apartment was perfect for us. We felt safe and comfortable. Everything was just as advertised. Tiffany made everything easy and was quick to respond via text message.

Great location for accessing subway and walking to Times Square and Central Park!

  • 5 of 5

This studio was a great refuge to come home to after days filled sightseeing, eating and attending shows. Good bed, sheets and shower! My daughter's and mine first visit to the city-felt very safe and no outside noise -just two blocks off busy area. Great wine bar and Amish Market just down the street!

W. 51st Street Gem! FANTASTIC OWNER!!!

  • 5 of 5

My family was fortunate to stay in 2 units in this building! Tiffany is a very accommodating host and has provided clean, safe, very reasonably priced units in the awesome Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. It's on a quiet, tree-lined street, close to hundreds of great restaurants and shops on 9th Ave and about a 5 minute walk (10 minutes toward the end of the week because we were so exhausted from seeing so much!!!) to the 50th St. C&E train station, which goes uptown along the west edge of Central Park, or downtown all the way to the 9/11 Memorial.

Every time we travel, we expect to have glitches, and this was no exception. Through no fault of the owner's the DirecTV signal was lost, so there was no TV(DirecTV has very slow response times for repair). But, I always bring an HDMI cable and my laptop, so we vegged at night with some Netflix! (We didn't go to New York to watch TV anyway.) The owner was very accessible through texting, and once, when we lost the wifi signal, she connected us to a new router in 5 minutes! Her properties are all in the same building, this beautiful old brown stone with tons of character that made us feel like resident New Yorkers! It's such a safe neighborhood with people coming and going at all times of the day and night. We always felt at ease with our fellow sidewalk pounders! We got cupcakes at Amy's Bread, had an incredible Lebanese meal at Gazala Place (I recommend the chicken kebabs with the tihini), gorged ourselves on the "$1 per slice" pizza at the "$1 per slice" pizza place, had two great lunches at Uncle Mario's (this pizza will knock you out), got incredible produce at the Amish Market, got our Ben and Jerry's Phish Food every night from the Hudson Market, found foot ailment products at the Duane Reade (Walgreens)

We used Uber to get from Laguardia (and to return 6 days later). Wonderful experiences. And very reasonable. Coming in: $49. Going back: $42 (difference is in the traffic).

Thanks, so much, Tiffany, for the most fantastic birthday experience we've ever had! We hope to come back again next year.
