Centrally located to 3 highways, a short walk to the metro, and close to the newly renovated many parks and Riverfront boardwalk, the new Safeway grocery store, Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge, the Anacostia Bike Trail, Central Park Ice Skating Rink, and of course Five Guys Burgers and Pot Belly!!
As you enter the 24 hour concierge-staffed building, the clean, modern lobby beckons you to want more. Located on 6th floor, this unit opens into a magahony wood-stained foyer with entryway closet, perfect for placing roller luggage bags, overcoats and other long hanging items. With original art tastefully gracing the walls, the foyer gracefully leads you into the living area. The living room features a Celadon colored sofa with Queen sofa bed, double French Regency style upholstered modern chairs, and small cocktail table.
To the right of the living room is a West facing all glass wall which runs the expanse of the condo. The 9 foot glass French door leads to a small terrace which overlooks the courtyard. From this terrace one can also enjoy views of the Washington monument, as well as watch the planes land from Ronald Reagan National airport, in the evenings.
The living room has high ceilings and both modern and period finishes, including 47 inch flat screen TV. Comfortable, fashionably chic with a twist!??
The fully stocked, chef-inspired kitchen is open and visible from the living area. In addition to toaster, coffee maker and blender, it boasts stainless steel appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave), Silestone countertops, designer pendant lighting, as well as recessed lighting and contemporary fixtures.
With the business traveler in mind, the unit has built-in surround sound system which allows you to both charge your Ipod or iPhone, as well as listen to music though the centralized speakers. There are also generous outlets, plugs, and usb charging wall outlets for your many handheld needs. There is a wireless printer and of course WIFI for your business and surfing needs. Just plug and go.
The Japanese-influenced bedroom has leather headboard with 600 thread count sheets, down pillows and comforter. There is a 42 inch flat screen TV in the bedroom.
The unit comes complete with full-size washer and dryer, as though very bright, it features solar shades on all windows to ensure a great night sleep.
All of this is complimented by an upscale gym and rooftop pool lounge with stunning views of the Capitol and the Anacostia River.
The location is adjacent to the newly gentrified baseball stadium district, and The Yards entertainment district just blocks away. This is a perfect package of a fantastic location, access to Metro, Shops, Restaurants and a interesting space. Perfect for the person seeking an international DC flair with upscale home-like amenities.
I'm a TV Network executive who travels alot. Originally from NC, I have been living in DC since 2003. I also split my time between my homes in NYC, NC, and Atlanta. But DC is the best city ever!
Bernard Bell purchased this condo in 2013
I love this neighborhood. All of my homes are in the area, and it has literally become one of the hottest but low key NEIGHBORHOODS. The Stadium has transformed the energy of the area. I love to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine and hear the Baseball Stadium cheers!
The thrill of being in this neighborhood comes from when I walk out my front door, look to the left, and see the shining dome of the Nation's Capitol building. It is a significant and tangible energy booster, and a reminder of the freedoms that we take for granted in this country.
My husband and I stayed at this condo the latter part of September and had a great time. Bernard's apartment was very nice, comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed. Bernard was very helpful promptly answering our questions and giving us additional information regarding transportation, sightseeing, grocery stores and nearby restaurants. The other tenants and the concierge in the building were very friendly and also made suggestions on what to do and see. We took the Metro wherever we went, but still did A LOT of walking (be sure and bring comfortable walking shoes if sightseeing). We also took the Metro and bus to George Washington's Mount Vernon which is a must see if you have the time. The finishing touch each day was sitting on the apartment's balcony and enjoying a glass of wine--very nice and relaxing. We will definitely stay again if visiting Washington D.C.
Two of us stayed in this condo for 4 days while visiting family in DC. Although the apartment is a small one bedroom it is fine for two people. It was clean and had a lovely kitchen and bath. The condo building is new and had some nice common areas and outdoor space.
Navy Yard is a vibrant area with many restaurants and parks. It's in walking distance -- or very easy metro ride -- to the Mall, the Capitol and other places to visit in DC.
Mr Bell was a very welcoming host. I appreciated that he contacted us again the day before our expected arrival to make sure we were all set and to let us know we could get in touch with him any time if we needed anything.
This condo has everything you need, with the added bonus of watching gorgeous sunsets after a day of sightseeing. Bernard tips were.great, especially using Uber! No need to rent a car what so ever. This was a great experience - Thank you Bernard!!
The condo is in Camden South, directly across the street of the Nationals baseball stadium. This condo is on the 6th floor with a view of the top of the Washington Monument. There is underground parking that is $10/day no matter how long your car is under there (checked in at 8pm and out at 10am and still paid the full $10/day. The concierge also said they only accept payment by check, so plan accordingly.). The condo has an area off the kitchen where there is the queen sized bed and closet, but no door, so think more studio and you will correct. Our teenaged daughter stayed on the fold out sofa in the living room and had no complaints. The kitchen was not only fully stocked with almost anything you could think of (except pizza pan and pizza cutter), but there was also some nice grocery items that helped like coffee filters, salt and pepper, etc. the bathroom was spacious and even had body wash and some shampoo options if you forgot your own along with q-tips, a hairdryer and curling iron! I loved the strong water pressure of the shower after a long day of sight seeing! The washer and dryer were nice since we visited in a very humid week and needed to either burn our clothes or wash them! ;) Access to any part of the building requires the key fob, so the only suggestion I would have is maybe Bernard could have more than one so that one of us could take the dog out while our daughter was up at the rooftop pool. It's just a few blocks to the Navy Yard Metro station which we used for all of our transportation by buying Smartrip cards at the metro station. We watched the 4th of July fireworks on the roof with about 100 other residents that were so very friendly (enough to share a couple Bud Lites with us and then the next day some ketchup when we made dinner). The roof even had gas grills so if you want to grill, it's available and we took advantage one night! The owner, Bernard, was very available on text if we had questions and that made it feel like we stayed with a friend, rather than a faceless stranger. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. If you have toddlers, keep in mind that there are some breakable items that you might want to relocate during your time at Bernard's place! This place was so much better than a hotel and we had a great time being guests here! Thanks again, Bernard!
We brought our 13-year-old grandson to DC and were delighted with this small, but fully equipped condo. It had everything we needed. Close proximity to the Metro made transportation into the city convenient and quick. We enjoyed going to the roof top to check out the pool and the baseball games across the street. A fun evening was spent at TheYards, an area of restaurants, park and shops just a few blocks away on the Anacostia River . Bernard provided us with helpful information ahead of time to help us plan for our trip and encouraged us to text or call him with any questions while there.
The condo beat the weather and made for a very warm, dry , cozy home after trudging around our capital. The kitchen is modern (3 years old), everything worked, great bed, fairly near the Metro and a very good grocery store near the Metro. No National's games during our nine day stay but had there been we were right next door. Only one correctable comment: very limited storage space and much of that occupied by someone else's things. Perhaps also, too much furniture which tends to make movement somewhat difficult.
Over all the condo served our needs very well and much better than some other places we have used. Walter Henes, Colorado
