Property type house
Minimum Stay 5 - 7 nights

About the property

Newly renovated 3 Bdrm, 3 Bath house on Fresh Pond near beaches and Bike Path

In the past two years we completely renovated the house. The renovation included a new roof line and a new 2nd floor to include 2 additional baths, a shower, new kitchen, new 3 season porch and cooling throughout. The house has 3 Bedrooms, 3 updated baths and new kitchen. It has the feel of a new home with ageless details. It has two queen sized bedrooms and one twin bedroom (2 twins) . Wall AC units throughout with remote controls. Living room has a large 42" Smart HDTV with Direct TV satellite service, wifi, and new furnishings. The dining area is open to the kitchen and living room and has large windows overlooking the pond. Spring of 2018 we constructed/added a 3 season porch overlooking the pond and benefits from great sunsets over the water. The house is exceptionally private and just steps away from The Shining Sea Bike Path allowing a 3 mile bike ride to Falmouth and a 7 mile bike ride to Woods Hole. Heading the opposite direction will take you to the quaint village of West Falmouth in 1/2 mile or 3 miles to North Falmouth past a beautiful cranberry bog. The house has a private grass pond front with Adirondack Chairs, a quiet spot to enjoy the sunset or fantastic for kayaking with access to the Great Sippewissett Marsh and Black Beach. Kitchen has new appliances: gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. Washer and Dryer on 1st floor. Beaches are an 8 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk. In addition the house has an outdoor hot shower. You will find that we do not have many reviews on the site. Since we started renting 4 years ago we have repeat renters that take a majority of the summer.

Perfect Location and Home!

  • 5 of 5

The house was terrific! The renovation is stylish and comfortable. Wonderful amenities including new kitchen, bath and AC. We enjoyed the bike path to ride to Woods Hole and was safe for my kids to walk to the beach alone. We rented paddle boards and enjoyed the pristine marsh. Kate and Scott are wonderful hosts and made sure things were in order! Thank you for a memorable 2016 Summer vacation.

Wonderful vacation spot!

We had a wonderful week in W. Falmouth. The updates made to this cottage were beautiful and tasteful. It's clean, comfortable and in an ideal location right off the bike path and overlooking a pond. We look forward to returning next year!

Lovely location and Kind, Helpful Owners

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous week in the cottage. A peaceful spot near the bike path and tidal marsh. The sleeping porch is quiet and cozy; the chairs by the pond the perfect place for morning coffee; other quiet nooks in the yard to read and catch some shade in the afternoon. My son fell in love with fishing this summer (he's 8), and the owners lent us the rod and tackle box their son had used as well as a trap, and gave us directions to the perfect spot just down the private road from the cottage. We could hardly get our son off that little bridge. He was fascinated by the crabs and fish and the dramatic differences the tide made in the marsh and on the pond. It's a quick drive to Falmouth, and we rode to Woods Hole and Falmouth both on the bike trail (different days). I'd highly recommend the place for its beautiful setting and the care the owners have taken with it, evident in its upkeep and how the cottage is stocked and the helpful handout of suggested walks and restaurants in the area, but also for the generosity and kindness of the owners themselves. Thank you for a lovely vacation!

Lovely, comfy and peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

The house is immaculate, cozy, and beautifully and tastefully decorated, and is ideally situated for both biking and walking on the Shining Sea Bike Path. Easy to get to Chapoquoit Beach (5 minutes by bike, a 15-20 minute walk, or it's a few minutes' drive if you want to park with a non-resident beach sticker). Getting to Main St. in Falmouth is about a 3-mile drive or 15 minutes biking on the path. Upstairs bedrooms are 2 twin beds each room with air conditioning (needed when it's hot). The bedroom off the living room is cool and breezy in hot weather. It's on a private road, so no traffic or outside noise other than animals, occasional pedestrians, and the view of the salt ponds is great at all times of day – but especially at sunset. Only 1 bathroom, but there is an outdoor shower as well as the one indoors. We loved it.
