Jasmin Villa is a charming home perfectly located for you to enjoy to the very best of the Riviera. If you are seeking a home with character in a quiet area with wonderful views yet close to a beautiful village then Jasmin Villa could be the perfect choice for you! We welcome families, couples and even dogs!

Jasmin is a petit, semi-detached villa with a private courtyard garden of jasmin (French spelling), shrubs and flowers with woodland beyond. The garden, upstairs balcony and large terrace offer unsurpassed views up to the village of St Paul and the mountains behind. All outdoor spaces are private to the villa, ideal for enjoying a meal, sunbathing or relaxing in the shade. Both the terrace and garden are paved and have wrought iron tables and chairs. We also have a comfy outdoor seating set (sofa and chairs) in the courtyard garden where we guarantee you’ll enjoy your morning coffee as you take in the views!

Inside the villa has been lovingly furnished in a Provençal/'shabby chic' style with unique and charming pieces all sourced locally from brocantes and antique shops. There is a spacious living/dining room with a large sofa, 2 chairs and a dining table with 4 chairs. For your entertainment there is a flat screen TV with a range of English-speaking satellite channels and Apple TV. There is a DVD player, a selection of DVD's and books. Wifi is provided. French doors lead out onto the courtyard garden which has a table and chairs and comfortable lounge seating area. A small separate kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and ceramic hob and microwave. We know many of our guests enjoy cooking so we provide a wide range of pots, pans, dishes and cooking utensils. There is a small casual eating area for two. There is also a downstairs WC with wash-hand basin and a washing machine and a hallway with a writing desk. An iron, ironing board, clothes horse, vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials are provided. The staircase (fitted with a handrail) leads upstairs to two double bedrooms, one with a balcony and the other with a large terrace, both with breathtaking views up to St Paul and air conditioning to ensure you have a good night’s sleep during the hot summer months. One bedroom has a king size bed, fitted wardrobe with built in shelves, the other two twin single beds and a large authentic French armoire. There are mirrors in both rooms. Additional pillows and blankets are available if required. We provide free-standing fans/ air conditioning in the bedrooms for the heat in summer and wall fitted electric heaters which are very effective in the winter. There is a fully-tiled bathroom with bath and shower head, a separate walk-in shower and an electric towel rail. A hairdryer is provided.

Our home is situated in an exclusive, gated, hilltop domaine of private one bedroom and two bedroom residences. There are 20 properties in total and approximately half of them are holiday rentals. It was formerly a hotel and in it's hey day competed with the Columbe D'Or! It is located in a prime but quiet semi-rural position on the Cote D’Azur between Nice & Antibes yet only 10 minutes drive from the airport and just 15-20 minutes walk to the stunning medieval village of St Paul de Vence. Domaine du Piol has a lot of history and character and enjoys an elevated position surrounded by woodland with views over the valley below. There is a large, shared pool which gets the sun all day with sun loungers, parasols and an outdoor shower. The pool is just around the corner from the villa but out of sight. The location of the villa is private, quiet and secure. There is only one other villa adjoining it and a small apartment out of view, under the pool.

We want you to thoroughly enjoy your stay so we have tried to think of everything so you will be as comfortable as possible. If there is anything we can organise in advance of your stay it would be our pleasure to do that for you. A comprehensive information pack includes lots of helpful recommendations for your stay.

***PLEASE NOTE: rental fees do not include cleaning/laundry charges which are payable to the concierge on departure ***

CANCELLATION: Any payment will be returned in full once the villa is re-booked. In most cases that has been possible with sufficient notice. We recommend you are fully insured in case you can no longer travel.

We have a number of other holiday rental properties: Dundrum, Northern Ireland:, Rose Cottage, Lilac Tree Cottage and Foxglove Cottage, Greyabbey, Northern Ireland,

I am a World Host Accredited Service Provider with a commitment to customer service excellence.

How to get to our villa....

The Villa is 15 minutes drive from Nice Airport. Our information pack contains detailed directions from the airport. Once you come off the A8 motorway our villa is just 4.5km away! Well known car hire companies operate from the airport, weekly hire for a 4 door compact car with air conditioning, is approx £180-£200 per week, in high season, we would recommend that you book in advance. A car is recommended for this area, although not absolutely necessary. Taxis are available at the airport, cost approx 70 euros to the Villa. We can organise a taxi for you at discounted rates.

The Villa is 10 minutes drive to the pebble beach of Cagnes Sur Mer, 20 minutes drive to Nice and the beaches on the famous Promenade Des Anglais, also 25 minutes to Antibes/Juan les Pins (with fabulous white sand beaches) , 40 minutes to Cannes, and 45 minutes to Monaco, with the magnificent coast road drive, from Nice to Monaco. The beach resorts of St Tropez, St Raphael and St Maxime are within 2 hours drive. We recommend taking a ferry from St Maxime to St Tropez to avoid the traffic during the summer. The market in St Tropez is on a Tuesday.

The Villa is 15-20 minutes walk from the medieval village of St Paul De Vence, and only 3 minutes drive. You are 10 minutes drive to the next small town of Vence, with its daily markets, and old town. Nice is 20 minutes drive with its famous Promenade Des Anglais and food markets most days (antiques market on Sunday). Cannes is 35-40 minutes drive, Monaco 45 minutes on the A8 motorway, or take all day exploring the coast road, and its many villages, coastal towns, and beaches. If you would like to travel the coast by train it is easy to do so by parking in Cagnes Sur Mer station (10 minutes drive away). We would recommend this if you wish to visit Monaco or Cannes as the stations are central and it helps you avoid traffic and car parking charges.

Further Details

St Paul De Vence, is a beautiful medieval walled village, renowned for the famous Colombe d"Or restaurant which is adorned by art works of Chagall, Matisse, Picasso, Modigliani and Bracque, that over the years have been left to the owners "allegedly " in lieu of payment. The area is renowned for its art, exhibitions & luminous light that drew the artists here. St Paul also boasts some of the most interesting art studios, and interesting mix of boutiques. Our villa is an excellent base to explore Nice, Antibes, Cannes, Monaco, Italy, St Tropez, and the surrounding picturesque medieval villages of Vence, Tourrettes, Gourdon, St Jeannet and more.

Special Interest Holidays

There are excellent golf facilities near Cannes and Mougins approx 30 minutes drive away. You can hire bikes through Velo Bleu and roller blades on Cagnes Sur Mer promenade (10 minutes drive) and Nice Promenade (20minutes drive). If you enjoy canoeing/kayaking, you can hire canoes at La Colle Sur Loup and from Villeneuve Leubet - just 10 minutes drive away. You can also play tennis over at La Colle Sur Loup.

You can take wine tours (there is a tour which can pick you up from the villa). The biggest vineyards are approximately an hour away. There is also a small vineyard across the way from the domaine and you can call them to arrange a visit!

Winter, sun and sports close by, skiing at Greolieres (40) minutes.

Why Janet Hamilton chose Saint Paul de Vence

My husband and I fell in love with this property when we first rented it in 2005 and were thrilled when it came up for sale several years later. The views up to the beautiful village of St Paul de Vence are breath-taking and there's nothing we enjoy more than sitting on the terrace or in the garden savouring the views of the village and mountains and enjoying its very beautiful and peaceful green surroundings. The villa is located in a historic domaine which feels rather like a little hamlet. It has a lot of character and charm. We are fortunate on the domaine to have a large, beautiful pool with lovely views right down the hillside to the sea. The domaine enjoys a fantastic elevated position and is surrounded by woodland. Despite its semi-rural location all the delights of the Riviera are only a short drive away.

What makes this house unique

Without doubt the views of St Paul de Vence are very special and we guarantee will capture your heart! The villa is situated in a very peaceful and private location surrounded by woodland. The large communal swimming pool is right around the corner - just a short stroll from the villa. We have taken great pride in renovating the villa in a delightful provencal style with lovely pieces sourced from the local brocantes and antique markets. We take pride in presenting our villa to a high standard and we hope we have thought of everything to ensure that our guests stay is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We have many returning guests - which is a good sign that we must be doing something right!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Fabulous Villa in a Beautiful Spot

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time we have stayed in this charming Villa and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an idyllic retreat from which to explore the area. The domain which the house is part of is very private and secure but only a 2min drive up to the very picturesque St Paul de Vence. I would also recommend travelling 5mins more up the hill to Vence - another beautiful historic village. And of course the French Riviera is only 15mins drive down the hill...Nice, Antibes, Cannes...

The accommodation itself is just lovely - beautifully decorated; equiped with everything you could require; with a wonderful terrace and courtyard garden with fabulous views up to St Paul.

Janet has exquisite taste and really goes the extra mile to ensure guests have everything they need to have a fabulous holiday.

If your dates are available, do not hesitate to book this gem. I'm sure we will be back again.

Beautiful house, great location.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our time here very much. The house is very close to St Paul de Vence and also convenient for car or train trips to nearby resorts on the Côte d’Azur. Just down the road is a new shopping mall which is excellent.

We liked the fact that the domaine where the villa is situated is off the road, gated and tranquil. There is a nice little terrace area outside for dining and also balconies upstairs with picture postcard views.

We were there in winter so the pool was closed but it looks lovely and we would like to return in summer.

We had everything we needed, the villa was very well equipped and furnished with taste and the owner was in contact several times to make sure our trip was going well.

We will definitely return.

Jasmin Villa is a wonderful, peaceful home base while you explore a beautiful area of France.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a GREAT vacation in the Alpes-Maritimes Region - the highlight of which was our choice of Jasmin Villa as our home for 2 weeks.

Jasmin Villa is every bit, and more, of what it is described to be. The Villa is remarkably well furnished and equipped. The courtyard, balcony and terrace are perfect, and we never tired of the amazing views of the countryside and St. Paul. It was a wonderful, quiet and relaxing place to return to after a day of exploring a beautiful part of France.

In particular, dealing with Janet was an absolute delight!!!! We can't thank her enough for the attention, assistance and advice she provided - which commenced on the 1st day we contacted her inquirying about availability, and continued until we had reluctantly concluded our vacation. We only wish we had been able to meet and thank her in person.

Jasmin Villa was a great find for us and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Natalie and Bob Schnell,

Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.

Fabulous well-equipped and tastefully decorated home

  • 5 of 5

Well-located house with excellent swimming pool (although it's a shame that the pool furniture isn't a bit nicer).

A 20-minute stroll along the road to St Paul and within easy reach of Nice and Antibes.

Some beautiful villages in the mountains nearby.

A perfect blend of quiet and calm with convenient cooking, washing and dining facilities, all dressed with understated charm, traditional framed views and intriguing images, vintage black and white photographs and the curious company of a young woman's head in clay peering in from the bathroom window ledge! Waking up to the amazing light and opening the doors onto the bedroom balcony for a stunning view of the village of St. Paul de Vence and the surrounding countryside. Villa Jasmin is beautiful, homely, efficient, flexible and ideally situated to experience the best of all that is on offer on the Cote d'Azur.
