Wildland Properties is proudly serving the Oregon Coast with a nice selection of exquisite homes. You're sure to have a memorable vacation when you stay with Wildland Properties Port Orford, Oregon

Wildland Properties purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Wildland Properties chose Sixes

This home is unique in its structure and setting. Located on the Sixes River on 25 private wooded acres. I like to enjoy my vacations away from the city, the sound of cars and neighbors two feet away from the house. I don't have to deal with any of those things at Sixes River Heights. I can relax, fish, go to the beach, hike in the forest or star gaze on the deck. There is internet so you can still stay connected.

What makes this cabin unique

Private drive, lots of land to walk, hike and play. Have pets? No problem! There's plenty of room for them too.

Guestbook comments from the manager

This is a lovely small house a little outside of town and without neighbors close by, perfect for some peace and quiet. It is clean, comfortable and surrounded by gorgeous woods. The attached deck is perfect for sunbathing and outdoor dining. With the Sixes recreation area nearby, you have plenty of access to the river, oceans beaches are a short drive, and groceries are available in Port Orford or the towns beyond. We had a great time relaxing here.

We stayed at this perfect Sixes R. house for our annual Elk/Sixes fishing trip. Everything was great. The loft served as a great hangout for the kids. We also appreciated the movie collection (animal based) and the old school Nintendo. The weather was a mix of perfect and really really wet so the fishing was up and down. We hope to be back next year!

Very Nice and quite

  • 4 of 5

We had bad storms during our stay, so we did not get outside around the place much. I read other peoples reviews before we stayed and if they had complaints, they were pretty small as would be ours. Overall a nice place to stay. It is across the road from the river. The only thing I could suggest. We did have internet there was no TV or Phone. Not too big of a deal. However we also did not have cell service using the best cell coverage around. For safety purpose they should at least provide a land line incase of an emergency or health issue. There was not way to call out unless you use an internet calling service thru a computer.

Nice but need shower instructions

  • 4 of 5

Very quiet, only noticeable sound besides the river was a barred owl.

Very nice. I would suggest that institutions on how to operate the downstairs shower were included, it seems to take someone under 30 to remember how to divert the water.

Less than advertised

  • 3 of 5

This house was nice. It was clean and away from it all, however, we found it to be less than advertised on the internet. For example, it claims one can "walk through the 25 richly wooded acres." This is simply not true. The house sits on a very steep hill and unless you have a machete handy, there is no 'walking' through the 25 acres. There is also a claim about wifi. "After a full day of adventure, you can sit back and enjoy wifi: - uh - not so much if you come later in the month. The wifi was 'throttled' for us the entire time - one has to wait until 2 AM to have reliable internet. Sending emails was nearly impossible - wanting to do anything more than that is impossible. The wifi is set up to a max of 10 gb per month of data - that gets used up very quickly, so if you come later in the month, do not expect to be able to use it. This was a real inconvenience, as many of us thought we could do a bit of work while there, but it was impossible as there is also no cell service (which is fine, but without internet, it's difficult to get any work done while away). The garden was there, but it is very small. Don't expect to truly pick any veggies for cooking - at least when we there in mid August, there was really nothing to pick. There is a claim that, "The kitchen will provide you with everything you need to entertain your guests." Again, not true. We had to wash dishes by hand many times, because we simply ran out of plates (there were five of us there). After breakfast, if you don't wash your plates, you will be eating out of pans for dinner. Further, the kitchen doesn't have everything you need - there is no blender, for example. When we arrived, there weren't even hot pads or kitchen towels - we had to spend time emailing to let people know (which took a good five minutes to send a simple email). There was one sponge, but no kitchen rags at all. This house is nice - it's clean and suited our needs, but it really is not as advertised. Yes - there is a 'television' but it doesn't broadcast anything - it's a monitor for the DVD player. The 'private' fishing hole is across the highway and accessed by walking down the driveway and crossing the street. It's nice, but not really 'private.' There were people parked at the bottom of the driveway one day who were using the 'private' fishing hole across the street. The listing should change to reflect reality. VRBO listing says 'duty free shops' are in the area - why that is included boggles the mind.
