frances van t oever purchased this apartment in 2010
The Jordaan is the most picturesque 17th century part of Amsterdam. Public transportation is around the corner, but of course 2 bikes available for your personal sightseeing.
Guests who stayed at Frances' place just loved it!
Great and lovely
We guest 5 days, love Francesca , love the appartemnt ,love the the area.
we use the bikes, and also got clean towels every day.
we miss you francesca :-)
We had a wonderful weekend staying in Amsterdam at Frances apartment.
The Jordaan area is beautiful and perfectly located to everything. We walked everywhere and explored as much of the city as we possibly could.
Frances is warm and welcoming and provides much information about things to do and places to visit. Good tips on places to eat - we enjoyed both Vlaming and Winkel.
The nearby Saturday market was just fabulous.
The apartment is comfortable and well equipped. Sharing the toilet is no problem at all.
Our only regret is we did not stay for long enough - so we will just have to plan to return sometime - and we would not consider staying anywhere else other than with Frances.
If you want the best location for a stay in Amsterdam, this is it. The apartment is in the Jordan, the heart of the old city but just outside the crowed shopping and hotel area. There are many lovely restaurants and shops around every corner and we especially enjoyed market day here where the stalls, over flowing with farmers produce and goods of every kind, seemed endless. There is no need for public transport as the apartment is walking distance to everything!
The bedroom is small but Frances has loaded it with everything one could need, the bathroom facilities are good and all was spotlessly clean. Frances was a wonderful host, providing advice and direction, and even arranged for a friend to take us to the airport.
Value for the price, this little apartment cannot be beat.
We stayed here for a week in January and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Frances was lovely, very generous with recommendations. The room was very comfortable and was a very welcome sight after lots of walking. It was warm, clean and very comfortable.
The location was excellent. It is in a quiet area, but has plenty of amenities close by. You must try Piqniq for breakfast and Vlaming has excellent food at a good price. There are a couple of supermarkets around the corner and you are within walking distance of Amsterdam centre, we didn't set foot on public transport at all in the week of our stay.
We would recommend this place for its situation and for the wonderful welcome we had, also free wifi which was great. We will certainly come back and stay again. Thank you so much Frances for a great stay.
We stayed in the apartment for 3 nights. Everything was perfect ! Everything was super clean, it has wifi, the location is fantastic, in 10 minutes walking you are in Dam square and near the house (for whoever is interested) there are a few really good coffeshops such as Bulldog and Barney's. Frances and his son in law were available for any type of information and gave us the bike keys too!
The apartment isn't huge but believe me, there's everything you need: bathroom, bathtub, a super confortable bed and a huge window.
There are good places to eat near the apt too.
I really recommend this beautiful place and we promise we will be back as soon as possible!!!!
Thank you Miss Frances for making our travel perfect !!!
The best part of our stay in Amsterdam was getting to meet Frances. She was very helpful and made us feel right at home. The price for the room, WEE-FEE, television, comfortable bed and wonderful soak-tub make Bed and Bikes a great value. The location was perfect for exploring and had a grocery close by as well as many places to eat. I would definitely book with Bed and Bikes again and wish Frances and her family well.
The best bars en restaurants around the corner! Besides this, please don't forget to visit our beautiful museums like Van Gogh, Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, etc, all not far off. :)
For Amsterdam quite rare: groundfloor apartment, no stairs!
