Situated at the tip of Kaloli point, only 16 miles from Hilo Town, yet in a world of its own. Views from the home all the way down to the kapoho coastline, the most spectacular view you will find. beautiful lawn between the home and the ocean, with sitting areas and outdoor dining. The Wow factor is definitely here.
Great central location in proximity to Volcano viewing, Volcano park, Hilo town, farmers markets, swimming and snorkeling areas.

Our stay at Uli Kai Hale was delightful! The house was gorgeous, very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The setting right on the ocean was perfect. It was a great house for two couples as there was plenty of privacy and yet lots of good space to enjoy together as a group. We would all highly recommend the Uli Kai Hale House
We stayed here for three nights in mid Feb 2017. The home is absolutely gorgeous as is the location. Did an evening volcano walk, hiked to Ha'ena Beach whose trail head was right around the corner from the home and had the good fortune of seeing a huge pod of dophins as we hiked back along the coast. Also snorkeled at the TIde Pools and had breakfast at Pele's in Pahoa - excellent! The only negative was that we didn't get enough time to just hang out at the house and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Would go back in a heart beat. The weather was beautiful.
We (2 couples) stayed here for 3 nights in early March 2017. This house is designed to spend all your waking hours enjoying a spectacular ocean view out the back of the house. The online descriptions and pictures were accurate. The residence was modern, quiet, clean, and neat.
The location is a bit off the beaten path, but many of Hilo area rentals appear to share that description. It’s 30 minutes to Hilo and 45 minutes to the National Volcanic Park. We loved being able to visit the Park for hiking, as well as viewing the lava from a boat ride and helicopter - once in a lifetime experiences.
I would have to say this would have to be our favorite VRBO rental to date. Stunning views of the great room. High ceilings so the great room, dining room, kitchen, family room seems so large. Bathrooms are large as well with very large closets. This place has everything you need. My wife and I stayed here a few days to explore this side of the island and it was a great choice. Wake every morning to waves crashing and awesome views. We were hoping to see whales, but missed them. Neighbors said we missed themy the day we arrived, they visited earlier. The units next door are elevated and they are able to see into this house, but there are drapes that help with privacy. Two large bedrooms would accommodate 2 couples very well.
I am sure we will be back.
We stayed here for three nights with our three children aged 10, 8 and 4. I was pleasantly surprised how big this place was - it's very rare to say this but the photos don't do it justice! With this vrbo it is so much nicer than the photos. It is pristinely clean and has everything you need. On the first morning we were greeted by a whale right in the ocean in front of the house. As the owners state in the property details, the garden falls right off into the cliff so if you have small children who are liable to wander, this might not be the best property. The property manager did check with me prior to booking that our children would be safe here, and that was greatly appreciated. One thing I did notice is that the sliding doors felt substantial and safe. I think there has been a review recently regarding the doors but they seem to have been repaired and were fine for us. We didn't try to use the tv.
It is about 15 minutes from Pahoa where there are a few restaurants and nice cafes, and there is a grocery store about ten minutes away. The coastal areas here are easy to reach, as is Hilo. There's a bit of rush hour traffic getting back from hilo on highway 130 so try and avoid this if you can.
We would definitely love to come back here again. I can find no faults with this place at all.

we stayed here as a couple mon-sun in early november while looking for properties to purchase in the area. this rental property is very nice, a very unique house, inside and out. the landscaping is gorgeous as are the views in back. easy to get to via paradise road off highway 130, about 25 minutes to hilo outside rush hour (tip: avoid traffic north between 8 and 9am and south between 5-7pm). quiet neighbors and street. the house has lots of plates, silverware, pots and pans, etc. which makes it great for cooking home meals. there are chairs and loungers outside for catching rays and watching and listening to the surf, which we did very often for hours at a time. the only complaints would have about our stay is that the ice maker did not work, we use a lot of ice, and although it was full when we arrived, we had to refill it with bagged ice once. the grill propane ran out when we were trying to grill, so we ended up pan frying and baking everything instead. the master bedroom slider screen was stuck shut, but there was a side regular door that could be used for access as well. also the 'guide button' on the cable box did not do anything so it was channel up / down only, and we could record a show but since the 'list' button didn't do anything either we couldn't find it later. however we only watched tv when it got dark before bed - otherwise we were outside enjoying the view and weather. we only notified the property manager about the slider screen (said would be repaired sometime) and the propane (which they replaced the next day), as we didn't want anyone bothering us inside the property to address the icemaker and the cable remote issues. regardless, we would definitely rent here if we needed to rent in the area again.
