Attached to the 16th century villa La Collina is a charming farmer's house that has been recently restored to the highest standard. It is the perfect site for a short stay, on the grounds of a beautiful villa and with stunning views overlooking hills and the village of Tredozio.
The house comprises a sitting room/dining room with stone fireplace and modern kitchen with an utility room with washing machine. Up a beautiful ancient stone stairway are two modern bedrooms, one large bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a spacious hallway that could convert to another sleeping area. The accommodation is perfect for a couple or a family and can be rented for a few days, or longer.
The La Collina estate is some 650 meters above sea level on the Appenine ridge. In the valley to the north is the tiny Tuscan village of Lutirano, on the other side 3kms down the hill in Romagna, is Tredozio, the home town, one kilometre from end to end. At one end of town, is the Restaurant 'Il Mulino di San Michele' which is noted in the famous Michelin guide. On summer evenings, in the ancient courtyard of the Palazzo 'Fantini', in Tredozio, there are concerts ranging from jazz to chamber music organised by the province's cultural department. There are public tennis courts in Tredozio, golf courses at Riolo Terme, Faenza, Forlì, and Milano Marittima on the Adriatic, and trails for mountain biking, horse-riding and trekking. Ravenna and the Adriatic coast are 60km away: Florence and the other historical Tuscan cities are 80km. away, the beautiful, bustling city of Bologna, often overlooked on the tourist trail, is just over an hour away, (80km.).
As a break from driving, we advise use of the excellent train services from Faenza or Marradi. Alitalia, British Airways and Ryanair fly to Bologna.
Local organic produce: honey, eggs, wine, cheese, olive oil, vegetables made on the estate, can be purchased directly, we breed chickens for the market. In the town of Tredozio there are butchers, bakers, general stores, bars and banks to cater to your daily needs.
