Our family really enjoyed our stay on the ranch as a home base for visiting Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay on the ranch. The ranch managers went out of their way to be friendly, helpful, accommodating. Our children (ages 21, 18, and 15) said they loved the "home" and how cozy it felt. Watching the sunrise was beautiful. We enjoyed getting to meet and learn more about the alpacas too! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Everyone enjoyed the homemade cookies that were waiting for us when we arrived. Communication before and during our stay was excellent--all my questions were answered in a timely manner. Being able to borrow the bear spray was also greatly appreciated, since we went on several long hikes. We also took advantage of the day use cabin on the lake when we needed a relaxing day after one of those long hikes! I cannot say enough good things about our experience here and would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others. The beds were comfortable--we all slept well. Even my youngest, who is not typically an "outdoorsy" type said "I am sad to leave this place." Thank you so much for your gracious hospitality and helping us make wonderful memories!

Quiet and private with a nice view.

  • 5 of 5

It was very warm the day we arrived and there is no a/c. We knew this before we booked. There are plenty of fans and it cools down quickly in the evening and is chilly by morning. The location is great for GNP . There are a couple of very pricey restaurants nearby. We bought most of our food with us from Great Falls. There is a gas grill which was nice.

Cozy and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed Paul Ranch. The QUIET was wonderful and the location an excellent base for hiking the St Mary, Many Glacier and Belly River areas of the park. Terry and Gene gracious hosts/managers greeting us with cookies and the lowdown. Daily clean up helped us maximize our time. Would definitely stay there again

Perfect location to Many Glacier, St Mary & Waterton with space for a family of 5

  • 4 of 5

We all enjoyed our stay at Paul Ranch. My three children (14, 12 and 5) all said Paul Ranch was their favorite, we stayed at 5 accommodations over a 2 week vacation. Gene and Terry are more like Uncle Gene and Aunt Terry with yummy cookies upon our arrival and a true caring for their guests. We had plenty of space to spread out, very important when you have children who range from 14 to 5!! The area is very quiet, with a very large distance between the home you rent and others they have on the property. We stayed in West Glacier before going to Paul Ranch and shopped for food at Super One Foods (pretty good selection of organics and good donuts(lol)) in Columbia Falls, which is way closer than Kalispell and gave us more time for hiking. There is a grill off the back deck area, so my husband grilled most nights. The kitchen's cooking supplies are adequate. Washer and dryer worked great, was a necessity as this was our halfway vacation stop. They have bear spray in the rental for your use which is great, no need to rent or buy. We left the bear spray in the rental for the day we went into Canada, as I read Canada only allow certain bear sprays into their country and I did not want to take the chance it was the wrong kind. We also went to Two Medicine which was the longest drive on the East side from Paul Ranch. The road however was fun to drive and very scenic (R49 Looking Glass Highway) need to watch out for open range cattle and horses. We traveled in June to the Glacier area which is just the start of the "busy" season. Paul Ranch is very close to all of the popular areas but a world away from any crowded Glacier Park facility. Perfect for us because we wanted peace and quiet for our evenings.

Geat Base for Hiking in Glacier

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Meadowlark and it was just perfect for us. We were completely spoiled! From the fresh baked cookies welcoming us to the daily cleaning, including washing our dishes, and Terry coming by to let us know that there was a fresh vegetable market at the General Store in Babb -- we were made totally comfortable and welcomed. The house has everything you need. It was a great base for our hiking trip.

The weather was not the greatest -- cloudy, drizzle and cold -- but we made the best of it and it was always nice to come back to the house, have a glass of wine and then prepare supper.

The view from the house was awesome -- the stars at night (just a couple of nights) seemed closer than at home in Texas. This is truly a beautiful part of our country.

Gene and Terry were very helpful. We had deer in the front yard several evenings and we loved the alpacas sending us off in the morning and welcoming us home in the evenings.

It was so nice to have the washer/dryer with soap provided so that we could go home clean.

Beds were comfortable, had comfortable seating in the den and if the wind had not been blowing, sitting on the deck would have been really nice.

Also, the owner, Barbara Paul, was very helpful.

If we come back to Glacier, we will definitely stay here. Perfect for a trip visiting the park.
