My family has been a part of The Sonoita Valley for over 50 years. We originally owned what is now called The Vera Earl Cattle Ranch. The family decided to sell the cattle ranch, but keep about 250 acres so that we could still enjoy the beauty of the area!
Bronwyn Douglas Pedano purchased this house in 1950
Great family getaway. Convenient location. Clean and comfortable. hosts made everything simple. they even had a herd of antelope hang out in the meadow for us all week end!
We loved our stay here. Surrounded by rolling grasslands, a welcome respite. Not too far from many things - wine tastings, Tucson, Tombstone, lakes...house was very comfortable and worked well for our multi-generational family.
Great location! beautiful scenery. A herd of antelope hung out in the meadow across the way the whole time we were there. Our family of 7 adults and one 8 month old stayed there. perfect size. everything was set up and ready. Awesome get away.
We have been going to Under the Oaks for about 3 years, and every time we go we love even more. The property is well groomed and the house is just right. I would recommend it again and again!!
This property is beautiful! It is located on rolling grasslands/pasture far off any main roads. Our view even included spotting antelope herds on the nearby ridge! The Under the Oaks guest house was a great respite for us from the heat of Tucson in the summer. We stayed a few nights in July before monsoon season started so the evaporative/swamp cooler worked great to keep the house cool. The owners were great to work with, very nice, and available if need be. We hope to be back again soon. Thank you so much!
We stayed at Under the Oaks for two nights while visiting family for a memorial service. The house was perfect for our needs (5 adults and 2 children). It had everything we needed (including sheets, towels, and coffee!) for a comfortable stay. The two-mile drive on a dirt road may be intimidating for some but it was actually no big deal. I highly recommend arriving in the day time because it would have been difficult to find at night. All in all, I would recommend.
Visit Old West sites like Bisbee, Tombstone and the nearby Empire Ranch. Enjoy hiking, biking, and bird-watching in one of the world's top birding areas!
You are not far from famed San Xavier Mission and Karchner Caverns. Enjoy art festivals in Tubac and winery visits throughout the area.
