About Mike Quinn

This property is owned by Mike and Jean Quinn who reside in Tulsa, Ok.

Mike Quinn purchased this villa in 2011

Why Mike Quinn chose St Kitts & Nevis

This property has it all. It is a private residence set in the Half Moon Bay area and located adjacent to the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course. The veranda with private plunge pool enjoys a sweeping 180 degree view of the southern mountains and ocean and lush tropical gardens of the villa. The garden itself abounds with a selection of totally organic produce for your enjoyment, as well as unique floral specimens. Leeward breezes, a temperate climate and absolute privacy make the villa a perfect retreat. The island itself is home to beautiful pristine beaches and a wonderful variety of activities. The people of St. Kitts are warm and friendly and are glad to share their knowledge of the island and its' treasures. Other 'natives', the little vervet monkeys, are fun to watch. And the local seafood is incredible, while being quite reasonably priced. The dress code is casual everywhere. There are superb restaurants featuring local fare. Bassetterre, the capital city, and Port Zante offer shoppers a variety of unique goods. Of great interest is the history of the island, with its' roots in the sugar industry. The island is dotted with ruins of old plantations, some of which are home to restaurants and hotels now. Others, left to ruin, are fun to explore. The 'mother' of the island, the volcano, can be hiked through the rain forest and has breath-taking views down to the crater. While the beaches are all public, it is not hard to find one where you can be alone to enjoy the sun and white sand and watch the tropical fish. The water is clear and warm and boasts many varieties of coral and sea life. There are several wrecks to explore with scuba diving. And you can always find a charter or take the ferry to Nevis, St. Kitts sister island. The St. Kitts Royal Golf Club is one-of-kind in that it plays on both the Atlantic and Caribbean sides of the island. It is a stunning, well-groomed course with great amenities.

Our most delightful holiday rental of all time.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for ten days and enjoyed every aspect of this comfortable property.

Almost invariably we are left disappointed by rental properties where the owners use "creative" photography to make them appear more than they actually are. This was the exception! The photographs and the description do not really tell the whole story as they cannot describe the warmth and comfort felt as a result of the care and attention to detail put in by the owners.

Great property, great location - we will be back.

Half Bay Moon Villa

  • 5 of 5

Exotic Villa with amazing view, all the comfort for a great stay ! Laying and tanning on the swimming pool, enjoying the sunrise with a coffee every mornings, comfortably sitting on the sofa on the balcony, then organising a trip to discover the local side of the island which has so much to offer (watersports, snorkelling, volcano and rainforest hiking, historical sites such as the brimstone hill fortress or Caribelle batik, or just discovering locals beaches... So much to do !

Coming back to the villa, you will appreciate how relax you feel, and appreciate the lake of stress. You will found anything you need, at any point. An attentive owner who knows how to welcome in an amazing way ! We enjoy the fresh coconut water our neighbour invite to drink ! It was a fantastic exotic moment which makes the best memories and we will definitely coming back, and highly recommend to friends and family !

Quite Pleasant

  • 4 of 5

Golfers will love the location. Drop your clubs at the course the first day, and you can easily walk to the clubhouse thereafter. it is right on the course, so you can watch golfers play the very difficult par 3 #12. The unit offers a panoramic view of the ocean. The outdoor area is nice, including a shower. The space is great. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. Kym, the local contact, is very responsive by both phone and email, as is Mike, the owner, via email. We had questions about the internet and cable. They both responded promptly and resolved things immediately. The villa is close to the casino at the Marriott, beaches, and many good restaurants. Our favorite is Rock Lobster. The only downside is that the overhead lights do not work, and it is rather dark at night.

Amazing St. Kitts

  • 5 of 5

This villa is wonderful!! The views are exquisite. Laying on the hammock and peering over Royal St. Kitts Golf Course and the Atlantic Ocean was so peaceful and relaxing. The owners are awesome!! They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time and felt at home. My wife, my daughters (20 and 17), and I fell in love with this beautiful island. The people are great, there is so much to see and do, that we can't wait to go back.

Plunge Pool Villa With Beautiful View!

  • 4 of 5

I stayed a week and it was amazing, relaxing and beautiful. I enjoyed my stay so much that I want to own a Half Moon Bay Villa! The breeze that passed through the villa was so refreshing. I had everything I needed at the villa when I wasn't out sightseeing or visiting family. If you would like to know more you can contact me. :-)

Excellent place to stay in St Kitts.

  • 5 of 5

This is a great villa and, although the description is entirely accurate, it cannot capture the ambiance of this home away from home.

The property has the best position in this great location and is not overlooked in any aspect. The outside space is wonderful with stunning views over the golf course to the sea; the pool shares this view and was much larger than we expected. The interior is spacious, very stylish, comfortably furnished and equipped to a very high standard. It is clearly a place that is used and lived in by the owners and we enjoyed the original artwork on display and the terrific library. Everything is well maintained and immaculately clean.

The location is great for exploring and staying in St. Kitts. Nearby (although not intrusively so) there are shops, restaurants and ATMs as well as easy access to Basseterre, the main road that circumnavigates the island and the southern peninsula.

We agree with other reviewers that the villa has so much to offer that it is sometimes difficulty to drag yourselves away. However, St Kitts is an interesting destination and we enjoyed driving through the villages, talking to the friendly people and visiting the historic sites including Fort Brimstone and the old sugar plantations. Basseterre is also fascinating; go into the public library above the courthouse, the librarian is a great lady and a mine of information!

We also enjoyed ziplining in the rain forest and visiting Romney Manor close by. This gets very busy when the cruise ships are in but the guys will tell you when the quieter days are so book then for a really good experience.

The owner was very easy to deal with and, when we had a slight problem, the response was immediate and effective.

We would definitely recommend this villa to anyone wanting a great holiday on St Kitts.

Car: recommended

The villa is located at the edge of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club. It features a 180 degree view of the southern portion of the island from the lush gardens and private pool. Must see activities beside golf include beaches, fine dining, shopping, sailing, mountain climbing, Eco tours, zip lining, rain forests, volcano tour, riding the old 'sugar train', biking, hiking, horseback riding, and visits to numerous historic sites. Be sure to check out the beach restaurants to sample the local lobster and conch dishes and watch the native vervet monkeys. Shells abound on the white sand beaches where the water is warm and clear. Although all beaches are public, you can easily find one that can be your 'private beach'. A drive around the island gives insight into the history of the island with magnificent views of both the Atlantic coast and the Caribbean coast. Dress is casual, no matter where you go. Try the local rums, beers and selection of fine wines available anywhere. A ferry is available for visits to Nevis, St. Kitts' sister island. Boat charters and fishing expeditions abound. Fresh fish, seafood and an array of local produce can be found at the farmer's market downtown. The villa also has an abundance of organic fruit and vegetables in the gardens which is available for your enjoyment - bananas, papayas, spinach, pineapples, passion fruits, plantains, corn, sweet potatoes and various fresh herbs, to name a few. Lounge by the private pool while you enjoy the windward breezes and view. Or enjoy the oversized jacuzzi after an afternoon on the course or at the beach. Privacy is the key feature. The villa is the utmost retreat.
