This wonderfully classic Victorian country house is set within 2 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, in the heart of the Scottish countryside. This red sandstone mansion offers an exceptional holiday home, completed to a high standard and offering great charm and elegance for the discerning visitor with something for all guests to appreciate and enjoy. The house boasts wonderful traditional period features, tasteful furnishings and décor and exudes a warm, welcoming ambience. The safely enclosed gardens are delightful with patio areas, garden furniture and a barbecue for idyllic outdoor living in tranquil surroundings. There is a snooker/games room above the stable block opposite the house.

Country Manor

What an amazing house - it's huge! Plenty of space to relax peacefully and also to socialise in our large family group. The kids had the best game of hide and seek! The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of books, games, Netflix, Wii, music, etc. The property is very well maintained and was spotlessly clean. The beds were a bit on the soft side but that may be personal preference. I would highly recommend this property.

Great House for large family gathering

Excellent property in nice location. Unavoidable problem with heating on Friday night but between housekeeper and owner all stops pulled to get us warm again. Would have no hesitation in recommending this property

Lovely spacious country house!

Large, beautiful gem in the countryside. Luxuriously decorated and very clean. Enjoyed the big lounge with it's fireplace, and the spacious kitchen diner area. Very well laid out for having a nice social dinner with friends, I would definitely recommend this to friends. Would be an ideal house in summer too as the garden is huge with outdoor seating and a stones throw away from a few walking routes. Lorna was very good at updating us with details from the very beginning all the way through to our arrival.

Lanimer Celebrations

We had a fantastic time at Mill House. The house is beautiful and was the perfect venue for our family and friends. We had a great time entertaining our friends, and the children loved having their own space too! the pictures on the website are lovely but nothing until you see the real thing! We already are placing further bookings for a family celebration, as is perfect for a large dinner party! We were delighted, and on behalf of our family, thank you so much and look forward to our next holiday at Mill House. Thank you so much to Lorna and Julie who were both extremely professional from the booking through to arrival and departure.

There is no shortage of things to see and do in this lovely picturesque area of Central Scotland. The conservation village of New Lanark is the gateway to the Falls of Clyde Wildlife reserve and from here you can enjoy lovely riverside walks through the reserve following the footsteps of many famous poets and painters. The scenic Clyde Valley with its excellent amenities and facilities is nearby and golf, fishing, cycling and walking is popular in the area. The market town of Lanark is a short drive and this is an ideal location for exploring Edingurgh or Glasgow with an endless choice of trips.
