Gate Street Cottage is one of the most sought after cottages in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. Location, location, location!!. Modern in a quaint setting!! In the heart of the town, close to parks, groceries, golf, Shaw Theatre, river, dining and all the shopping, you are in the middle of it all! The wondering bright sun filled cottage is surrounded by fabulous gardens. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or one of Niagara's Finest Wines in the picturestique back yard or the grand front veranda.

The commmunity pool is a 10 minute walk away and is open from mid June to Labour Day weekend. There is a daily fee for the community pool!

The town of Niagara on the Lake requires that all vacation rentals and home sharing be licensed and insured. All Niagara Holiday Rentals vacation homes comply. We accept visa or master card and all payments to Niagara Holiday Rentals are in Canadian $. High season is between May and October, low season is Nov to April (except the holiday season). In Canadian our rates range from $299 to $445 Canadian, plus applicable taxes and fees.

The minimum age of the primary guest who responsible for the house because they booked it is at least 25 years of age.

Gate Street Cottage:

• fully renovated 100 year old cottage with a spacious main floor master bedroom with the option of a king or super twin beds (request set up at time of booking).

• Upstairs are two more bedrooms, one King Bed, one Queen Bed, both with ensuites and fine linens.

• Open concept main floor is ideal for indoor entertaining and the kitchen is large enough for two cooks! BBQ/Grill conveniently located off of kitchen back door.

• Professionally cleaned, bed linens provided, laundry facilities, BBQ/Grill

• Parking for two cars is available.

I made my decision quickly to buy a home in Niagara-on-the-Lake and had a wonderful opportunity to purchase Gate Street Cottage. While it has good bones, it needed some TLC and I knew I was the one to bring this quaint cottage back to be a real gem. So through the tears, laughter and sweat, we managed to fully modernize the kitchens and bathrooms, tame the gardens, and uncovered all the treasures that Gate Street has to offer. My favourite thing to do is sit on the front veranda with a glass of wine and people watch while pretending to read a best seller!

While I lived in Canada, Niagara-on-the-Lake was a favourite spot for me to reunite with my friends and family. Centrally located between two major airports, it was a convenient place to meet. Little did I know that in my first visit I would fall in love with this town! The feeling I have when I am here is one of joy, contentment and peace of mind. In any season there is a sense of wonderland about it!

What makes this house unique

Location is unbeatable for convenience to shopping, dinning, theatres, spa, parks and water front. Just park the car and walk everywhere!

Sit on the front veranda and watch the horse drawn carriages go by while sipping your morning coffee or that last glass of wine for the evening!

The charm of yesteryear with all the comforts of modern day amenities makes Gate Street Cottage the perfect get-away place for six people. The master bedroom on the main floor has a set of super twins that can be made into a comfortable King bed. This home is perfect for couples, multi-generation families or the best friends get together. 3 bathrooms add to the convenience but the claw foot soaker tub has your name on it!

Such a beautiful town, the flowers are just so wonderful and the shops are lovely. Had a lovely time with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren.

  • Each bathroom is attached to a bedroom. One on the main floor and two upstairs. They have been recently renovated and are spacious. Lots of room to get ready for the big night out, or to relax in the claw foot tub with a good book!

Great location. Nicely furnished. Adequate kitchen. Worked out well for three couples.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. So convenient to the theatre, shopping and wonderful restaurants. We would suggest you add ceiling fans to upstairs rooms as the air conditioner does not adequately cool the upstairs.

Lovely home and great location

With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a perfect home for three couples. Location right off of Queen Street is fabulous. The house is very comfortable and has all the amenities one could want. We loved sitting on the porch with wine from the nearby vineyards and cheese from the wonderful cheese shop in town.

Amazing !!!

My 3 friends and I stayed in the house for 4 nights and enjoyed every single moment. The house was super clean and the location was the perfect starting point for our morning runs, strolls through the city, bike rides to Niagara Falls and all the vineyards in the area.

We especially enjoyed the front porch for appetizers and a glass of wine followed by dinner on the back porch.

We would come back to this location any time.

Gate st house

We really enjoyed our stay on Gate Street. The house was beautiful. Lots of curb appeal. Definitely functional for my husband, myself and our 2 teenage granddaughters. Nice interior. Very close to one of the main streets in the area. The only negatives were the spotty wi-fi in the house and we had preferred a king in the downstairs king suite. Easy to book and really a nice place to stay.

Gate Street Cottage - Excellent location for girls weekend in Niagara on the Lake

For the second time, I selected Gate Street Cottage as headquarters for our girls weekend in Niagara on the Lake. The location is ideal and there is enough space to park 3 cars. (though they say only 2....that would be true if all SUV's) We parked the cars when we arrived on Friday afternoon and did not get back into them until time to leave on Sunday. The house is close to the lake and also the very busy main street though none of the sounds from the main street seem to have a negative impact on the peace of the house and yard. The house is clean and is perfect for 6 girls with queen room, king room and main floor twin/king room....all en suite. The open concept of the main floor is perfect for keeping everyone together while preparing meals. The kitchen is well appointed with all tools needed for meal preparation and presentation. Having a grocery store, bakeries, shopping, restaurants and entertainment within walking distance of the house is priceless. We will definitely return in the near future.

Gate Street Cottage is one of the most popular vacation homes in town! Why you ask? Location, charm, modern amenities, front porch, gardens and a bathroom for everyone! This is a fully modernized 100 year old cottage that is just a few steps from Queen Street, the main shopping, theatre, dining, parks and river area. The grocery store is almost at the end of your drive way! If you are a shopper then you can shop until you almost drop because your home-away-from-home is just a few steps away! Love the theatre; you can even walk there in your high heeled shoes! That’s how close it is! Now you are probably thinking maybe to close? Well this is a small town and not much excitement happens here other than the clip clop of the horse drawn carriages going by! This quiet quaint town is safe and charming and that is the way we like to keep it!

Not a shopper or a theatre buff? Then you still have lots to do at your door step! At the end of the street, literally a 2 minute walk is the oldest golf course in North America, Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club – better book your T-off times now! Also at the end of the street is a 5 star spa. The dining is amazing too, from chefs staring on the Food Network, to local family style dining, to shopping local at the all the food boutique shops and cooking it back at your vacation home, this is a foodie paradise!

Enter into Gate Street cottage from the covered front veranda and you step into a bright comfortable and spacious living area. The big screen TV is seldom used! The Living area is open to the the dining and fully modern well equipped kitchen! This is a shot gun style home because it’s a straight shot from the front door to the back! Go out the back door from the kitchen and there is a beautiful garden complete with patio furniture, deck and a bbq/grill! Also on the main floor is a beautiful huge bedroom with en suite. This is a room that has super twin beds that can be converted into a comfy cozy King bed. Main floor laundry for those who feel compelled to do laundry on holiday – well at least its convenient for you and you won’t miss any of the action while doing your chores!

Upstairs offers the two other bedrooms both with ensuites. The front bedroom has a King bed, a lovely sitting area and lots of space to move around! The bath room has a stand alone shower, and a claw foot tub, is perfect to relax in and soak your cares away! The other bedroom is a luxurious Queen bed with antique cabinet for the sink and a tub/shower combination.

We offer the luxury in bed linens so that you can get a wonderful relaxed sleep which is the perfect end to your day of exploring and enjoying this town while living like a local!

The gardens are professionally cared for and we have some herbs planted for you. Everything about Gate Street is specially designed, planned and done with you in mind. All you have to do is book it!
