Linda Heavner Gerald purchased this house in 2013

Why Linda Heavner Gerald chose North West Florida

After living in the Bahamas for sometime, Linda and Buddy started looking for a property stateside which would have the same appeal. Cape San Blas was their choice after months of previewing other areas. 'The rawness of the area is more appealing than the Caribbean. You will see Bald Eagles and much more. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park at the end of the Cape is a birding as well butterfly sanctuary. The people are the friendliest we have ever met and we have travelled all over the world.' Come, spend time staying active or just soaking up some rays by the most pristine water. Linda says the beaches are even more beautiful than the Caribbean. Check it out for yourself.

What makes this house unique

Brand new construction with the latest in appliances. Two covered balconies, private walkway shared with the one house next door. Three bedrooms and three baths will make space available for children and adults. Fully equipped kitchen and office. The office provides Wi-Fi, fax, and unlimited calls in the U.S. The kitchen is gorgeous! Granite counter and the latest in stainless steal. Bike path across from Lime Pie with rentals available here on the Cape. Alarm system even though it is not needed to provide peace of mind. Nothing has been overlooked. Pool available for public at local country club. The private shower outside is welcoming after a day in the sand. Cook your hamburgers on the grill where there is usually a nice breeze from the gulf. You can also enjoy the just added oversized rockers and swing.

We Loved Lime Pie

  • 5 of 5

We took our four kids and both grandmothers on our annual beach vacation trip to Lime Pie this past summer and made some wonderful memories. The house was very clean and comfy and cozy. The beds were great for a good nights sleep and the kids loved the bunks. We enjoyed the porch in the morning for coffee and then picnic table in the evening for dinner. We found so much wildlife it was great! From dolphins to sharks, hermit crabs, fish, shrimp, sea turtles and their nests (which was the coolest thing ever!) and so many seashells! We had a great vacation and can not wait to go back this summer to make some more memories at wonderful Lime Pie. Linda was a pleasure to work with too!

Everything we wanted and MORE!

  • 5 of 5

Lime Pie and it's location is more than we could have ever imagined! My husband, our three young children (ages 9, 5 and 4) and I had the ultimate family bonding getaway during mid February! We fished every morning and night right in the back yard off the shore, we collected enough sea shells to last two lifetimes, we hiked all over the Cape, my children LOVED watching the dolphins play everyday from our back yard, we roasted marshmallows on the beach, we snuggled up on the porch and stargazed at night, ate amazing donuts up the road at Webers Donuts (you MUST go early! We were first in line everyday. The donuts were still warm!), put together two 1000 piece puzzles and never once turned on the tv or had our children ask to have it turned on. We made incredible memories and are very thankful for the opportunity to stay at such a lovely home. Our kids enjoyed the "bunk house" bedroom and can't wait to plan our next trip back. Best vacation ever!

Amazing view

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this house justice! It is clean and furnished well. The view is absolutely amazing...especially at sunset. The area is removed enough from lights to make star gazing at night a monumental experience. My only suggestion would be to add another queen bed in the main floor guest room. We would love to visit with another couple, but all of the guest rooms only have twin beds in them. Thanks for sharing your home.

Beautiful home and view of the gulf!

  • 5 of 5

Lime Pie is a beautiful home with an amazing view of the gulf. It was wonderful to be steps away from the water. The sunsets were amazing. We saw dolphins every morning and evening right in front of the property. We saw bald eagles over the property as well. One evening at sunset when the waves were large we saw a shark in the shallow water, about 15 feet out. We kayaked the waters in front of the house and did fishing almost every day. We caught red fish, blue fish, Spanish mackerel, lady fish, flounder, catfish and others. We fished the bay and other freshwater areas but found the fishing was best right in front of the property. We took a ferry for a half day trip to St. Vincent Island Nature Preserve and rode our bicycles the length of the island to have lunch on the other beach. It was an 18 mile round trip ride. On the adventure, we saw 4 alligators, a young eagle, a group of wild baby pigs and their mama and several deer. It is a tough ride (packed sea shell path and a few sandy areas) but we managed to complete it in 3 hours with stops for pictures and lunch. The bait shop guys on the cape were very helpful and gave good guidance. The trading post offers a very good variety of groceries and essential items (and decent prices) if you forget anything. There are beautiful white sandy beaches and lots of sea shells, especially when we went to the state park area. We cooked at Lime Pie most days but did go to Port St. Joe for lunch at Krazy Fish and it was fabulous. We also had dinner at Provisions and would recommend it as well. We had an amazing vacation!

The house was great. Close to the beach. I would not recommend for family with children because the beach in front of the house is full of stumps-dangerous to get in the water. You have to move down several hundred feet to get in the water. Other than this, our stay was great.

Private and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

This home is wonderful. Comfortable with beautiful decor. The location is amazing, with the nearly empty beach just a few steps away. Our family of three had such a great time, collecting shells (there are tons), snorkeling, seeing the local sights and relaxing. We hated to leave, but will definitely be returning next year. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Outside activities abound at Cape San Blas. From stepping outside your house onto a new bike path which extends the entire Cape to renting a boat to see the area a different way. There are cooking classes with dinner prepared in your kitchen by the chef if you desire. Antique shops allow the tourist to stroll the historic town of Port St. Joe with dinner available in one of the delightful restaurants. There is also a Spa downtown for a facial or massage as well as manicure or pedicure. The local country club is public so golf is available. Kayaks are available for renting as well as horseback riding. Cape San Blas is one of the few remaining coastal towns where you can ride on the beach. We are pet friendly at the Cape so put your dog on a leash and let him enjoy the beauty that our area offers. There is a pool available at the local country club.
