This brand new luxury apartment overlooks the 'Ria Formosa' nature reserve and is located in the traditional town of Olhão.
The 2 bed apartment sleeps up to 6 pax with a king size bed in the master bedroom , two singles in the second inner bedroom (accessed from the lounge/dining room) and there's also a sofa bed . With two bathrooms, one en-suite with toilet, bath, over head shower & bidet, and the second with shower, toilet and wash hand basin it makes in ideal base for families.
The apartment is air-conditioned through out and has all of the home comforts, such as a dishwasher & washing machine, you need to make the most of your holiday. Free Internet is available so you can keep in touch with the rest of the world!
There is a rooftop swimming pool (fully enclosed for children) with fantastic views over the Ria Formosa.
Although the apartment is beautiful we're sure you'll spend most of your time relaxing on the spacious balcony enjoying the sunsets and sea views over the nearby islands of Armona and Culatra.
If you are looking to sample the real Algarve, Olhão is the place. This traditional town is famous for its Moorish influenced architecture , daily fresh fish market, restaurants, cafe's, bakeries and local shops.
The apartment is a 15 min walk to the old town and 10 min walk to the Marina, where you can catch the regular ferry boat service to the stunning islands of Culatra and Armona to enjoy a relaxing day on the beach. On the islands there are a few restaurants to choose from where you might even spot the locals collecting shellfish from the fertile sands.
Next door to the complex is 5* hotel. The hotel facilities are available but you would be required to book in advance.
Faro Airport is a 20 min drive and there is ample parking at the complex if you wish to hire a car . This way you can also discover the nearby historical towns of Tavira or even pop over to Spain to see the beautiful city of Seville. The Algarve has something for everyone whether you wish to keep the children amused at the waterparks or Zoomarine or enjoy a show at the Casino or just visit the fantastic beaches along the coastline.
This property is fully registered with the Portuguese local authorities & Tourist Board under the Alojamento Local private holiday rental system (ref 2022/AL) so you can be assured it meets the strict criteria with regard to safety and standard of facilities provided.

How much deposit do I need to pay ?
We will require a 30% deposit to confirm your booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival. If you are booking within 8 weeks of departure full payment will be requested on booking.
How can I pay for my accommodation ?
You can pay in euros by bank transfer or in sterling via a UK currency exchange account . If it’s easier we can arrange payment by paypal or credit card online however this payment method will incurr a small transaction fee .
What is the security deposit for and how do I get it back ?
You will be required to pay a 150 euro security deposit along with your final balance to cover for any damage to the property or contents. A broken glass is not the end of the world and won’t be charged for, however the owner has to have peace of mind that their property will be well looked after by guests. The deposit will be returned, by the same method payment received, within 7 days of your departure once the apartment has been checked over.
Can you help me arrange an airport transfer to my apartment ?
Yes. You can prebook your private taxi or minibus & your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall to take you straight to your accomodation -no waiting around in the taxi queue or for other guests. Just send us your travel details & we’ll do the rest.
Our low rates include baby/booster seats if required & there is no extra surcharge for late night or early pick ups. We’ll send you a voucher in advance & you just pay the driver on arrival.

Can you help with car hire & driving directions ?
Yes , just use the search engine on our lusoliving.com website page to find the best rates available from local & national car hire companies. We can send you detailed directions to your accomodation but note if visiting the Algarve in July or August you will need to book as far in advance as possible as rates increase sharply and cars are scarce to find at the last minute.
How do I get my keys to the apartment ?
We will meet you at the apartment to give you the keys and help you settle in unless other arrangements are made in advance of booking. You will need to text or call our contact number 00 351 918 541 794 on leaving Faro airport so we can make sure we are there in time when you arrive.
We will monitor your flight arrival time on-line so don’t worry if it is delayed we won’t leave without you. For arrivals after 01.00am, including flight delays, there will be a 20€ surcharge.
What time can I get into the apartment ?
Check in is from 15 hrs, however we will always try to give you access before then when possible. This will depend on the time of year and whether the apartment has just been vacated and is still in the process of being cleaned.
If the apartment is not ready you will be able to leave your luggage while you have a coffee or lunch or even take the kids to the pool to start your holiday asap.
If I arrive late will there be somewhere to get something to eat/drink ?
For late arrivals we can arrange a welcome pack to be left in your apartment.
If you have young children and require extra items such as baby food or nappies we will be happy to assist on request. There is an Iceland supermarket and many UK brands are available but we do require a min notice of 5 days.
We have young children –can we book a cot / highchair ?
Yes we can provide an extra bed, cot or highchair if required. Please note they must be booked in advance.
What about cleaning & maid service ?
The apartment will be clean, ready for your arrival and there are clean sheets & towels provided in the apartment. Included in the price for a 14 night stay is a mid stay change of bed linen & towels. If extra cleaning is required you may request & pay in resort.
What time do I have to leave the apartment ?
On departure, the checkout time is at 11am, however we can be flexible depending on the next arrival due. We will let you know nearer your departure date if it’s possible to stay longer – there will be a 10€ per hour surcharge for late check outs.
The owners have ensured that all guests can be rest assured when staying his property by contracting a local management company, Luso Living, to look after guests in resort. They can arrange private airport transfers to the accommodation and cot & high chair equipment can be hired if required. They will provide clean linen & towels for stays of 8 nights or more and be on call in the event of emergencies. A friendly face will be at the accommodation to meet you on arrival to help you settle in hand over the keys.
We stayed for ten days this apartment it is a two bedroom, two bath with air conditioning, wifi and a roof pool. The air conditioning is essential especially in August. The apartment was clean, comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, great for families with a Lidl close by and the most amazing array of sea food available.
From the apartment you are about a five minute walk from the sea front where you catch the ferry to the most beautiful beaches of Farol where you can spend your days lazying in the sunshine.
Ohalo is a fishing port and the whole village encompasses the sea, Restruants are plentiful but for more authentic dishes try the side streets to expereince exactly what the locals eat.. Amazing.
Boat trips and days trips are accessible from the marina but try to go early morning as it gets really hot in the afternoon.
There is not a buzzing night life this is a coastal town but at night the Marina does host a number of musical events and locals and tourists enjoy this together.
We booked an airport transfer and were not disappointed we were welcomed with a lady holding a card with our family name on and were outside our apartment within 20 minutes €35 well worth it.
We sent a number of emails to owner and had a quick response every time.
We was welcomed by a lovely mother and son that could not help us enough settling in.
Apartment was clean and had all appliances what we wanted for a week stay there were two supermarkets a short walk away and one in the main town.
Only things I would recommend for improvements would be some shade on the balcony and round the swimming pool.

We spent a great week at this very new and clean apartment. The apartment was exactly as described with everything provided to have a great holiday.
The location at the end of the sea front was superb. Two supermarkets are within 10 minutes walk on the main road. Along the sea front and in the old town are more restaurants than days in your holiday. The fish and vegetable /meat markets are five minutes walk away and the selection is amazing.
We were in Olhao during the Festival de Marisco (Seafood Festival) which provided even more dining choice and great music. I recommend taking the ferry out to the islands, we went to Farol which has amazing beaches (4 euro return).
We had the opportunity of spending 10 days in this apartment this August and it was more than we had bargained for. Not only was everything as described to us but we found it was right in the centre of things - restuarants, supermarkets, fish and vegetable markets, boat trips, etc all within walking distance from the apartment where everything was new. The rooftop also provided some amazing panoramic views especially in the evenings. Highly recommended

Olhão is the largest fishing port in the Algarve and is full of character with Moorish-style houses. The famous fish & shellfish market is surrounded by pavement cafes and restaurants and it is from the quayside near the market gardens that you can catch the regular ferry boat to the beautiful beaches on the islands of Armona & Culatra.
llha da Culatra is surrounded by beautifully clear water, with many species of fish, so it’s perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Ilha da Armona, the closest island to Olhão, has a few restaurants and holiday chalets and large expanses of golden sand for a very relaxing day at the beach.
During the summer season there are hourly ferry boats that take you to the island beach (return trip costs approx. €3 to 5 euros) and all year around there are private taxi boats available to take & pick you from the most beautiful & secluded beach spots.
In the historic heart of Olhão many of the buildings are the elegant merchant's homes with wrought iron balconies, carved stonework and tile decorations.
At the centre of the town is the church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, built in 1698 when it was the first stone building in Olhão, and the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Soledade which is 17th century and the original church of the then fishing village of Olhão.
Olhão offers a great base for your holiday and as it is not a traditional tourist resort your euros will go much further especially in the fantastic restaurants where a full meal for two with wine would be in the region of 25 euros.
Nearby there is the beautiful Roman town of Tavira centred along the River Gil that splits the town in two or going in the opposite direction you have Faro, the capital of the Algarve. Both are approx 20 min drive and offer great shopping, and a mix of old and new with the modern Marina that lies in Faro next to the Old Town.
As Olhão lies close to the Spanish border a highly recommended day out is to the fantastic city of Seville . With outstanding architecture at every turn the best way to see the city is in a traditonal horse and carriage. You will need an early start to see the Maria Luisa Park, Plaza da Espana, the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world plus the gardens of the Royal Alcazar Palace.
