Two room external granny flat above separate garage

Our two room granny flat is above our external garage at the rear of our property, separate from our main house. Our property is only metres from Dixon Park Beach, a short walk along Bathers Way to Merewether Beach and a short 10 minute stroll to Darby Street. The flat is equipped with a kitchenette, including sink, microwave and small refrigerator. There is one queen size bed, a single bed and a large lounge that can also be slept on. Car parking for one car is available in the garage underneath the flat.

Toilet, Shower and Laundry are located downstairs on ground floor.

About MIchael Redpath

We are born and bred Novocastrians, proud of our lovely city. We are fortunate to live near the beach and a short walk to the best cafes, restuarants and pubs in town! Our two room granny flat has been the temporary home for a few of our friends over the past few years and we have decided to invite even more people to enjoy our small part of Newcastle and stay with us! We love meeting new people, hearing their stories and helping where we can. Of course, we respect your privacy and if you want a nice quiet, secluded simple place to stay while you are in Newcastle, our granny flat is perfect. Separated from the main house and above a large triple garage you will not be bothered!

The property is fantastic. Great location & excellent hosts.

Michael & Julie are both lovely hosts. The location is perfect, right opppsite the beach. Towards Merewether is great coffee & pubs, and the other direction Darby St & Newcastle city which are both an easy walk. The property is nice & tidy with everything you need, including off street parking. I can definitely recommend it.

Great stay!

Thanks you so much, Michael & Julie, for making our stay a great one! The location of the place couldn’t be better - 2 min walk from the beach. We had breakfast at the picnic tables by the beach every morning. The place is simple, but that’s all you need for a lovely stay so close to the ocean.

Thanks for the espresso martinis and letting us use your oven! :)

Would definitely recommend staying here! We will be back! :)

Wonderful weekend thanks to Julie and Michael!

Julie and Michael were the most lovely hosts we could have asked for. From offering to drive us to a few of our destinations and giving us a tour of the surrounding area to offering us drinks, they went above and beyond with their hospitality. The room was comfortable and private and the view is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. We were right on the beach and in walking distance of great shops and restaurants. We had a fantastic weekend and would absolutely return. Thank you to Michael, Julie, their daughters, and their dogs for being so welcoming and accommodating!
