We pulled into the area early and just wanted to find out where we were staying. The owner (Lorrie) saw us pull in and immediately met us outside and informed us that it wasn't ready yet as she was still cleaning it (we were 2 hours early and we weren't expecting to get in early).
She told us of some places nearby that were walking distance to kill time until the cottage was ready. On top of that she offered us a wagon to pull our 3 year old daughter around town in. We walked a short distance to a small park on the water then began to walk to the middle of the village to a coffee shop. We weren't nearly halfway (2-3 blocks) when we received a call from Lorrie saying we can go in whenever.
When we did arrive in the cottage it felt homey right off the bat, instant relaxation. Everything you could need was there, with the kitchen, a picnic table, a gas grill, a couple of chairs up front to look out over the river, a few board games, cards, and you could definitely tell that it was cleaned thoroughly with care for the next occupants. This cottage was worth every penny.
Not far from coffee shops, restaurants, pizza places, a brewery and more.
My family plans on future trips to Cape Way Cottages. By the written reviews in the cottage book of previous occupants, there are multiple return Booker's going back at least a few years since Lorrie and her husband Steve bought the cottages in 2017.
If you are on the fence about this, jump off it and book it.
