About Suzanne Patterson
We purchased what was originally a small cabin in 2011, the same year we lost our main house in a fire. We lived in the tiny structure for the summer and knew we would want to make this a retirement home down the road. In the meantime, we want to share our beautiful home with families who are looking for a special place to make wonderful memories.
Suzanne Patterson purchased this House in 2011
The house and lake exceeded our expectations.
The house and access to the lake definitley lived up to the pictures on the website. It was clean, modern, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. Our two young boys (2 and 4) had so much fun playing in the sand and in the water, as well as running around the well maintained lawn. The house was more than enough for one family, and could comfortably hold 2 or 3 families. What a relaxing week in a nice and quiet lake town. Sanford was a 15 minute drive and had lots to do when we wanted to take a break from the water. The home owners were very accommodating and responded immediately when we had a few questions. We hope to be back there next summer.
Fantastic lake home for multiple families
Our family just returned from a week at this fantastic two level lake home. The bottom level (walkout level) with two bedrooms was well set up for our two young families and their children. The little livingroom area was perfect for getting the kids ready for playing on the beach and the little kitchen was great for keeping snacks and cold drinks in so we could just run in and grab a snack from the refrigerator to take out on the patio or down by the beach or firepit.
The upstairs level is quite large and plenty of room for all of us. Beautiful large kitchen and huge pantry to put all your groceries for the week. The great room with floor to ceiling windows made viewing the pond and having morning coffee while watching the gorgeous sunrises easy.
Gram and Gramp had the upstairs bedroom and private bath.
Washer and dryers on both levels made laundry chores a breeze. Always a washer and dryer available when someone wanted it.
Absolutely will be returning as long as available!
Kathy, sounds like your vacation was spectacular! So happy to hear that everything went well and we would most certainly love to have you and your family back again next year!
We had a wonderful week at this fantastic lake house!
The house is fantastic. Well outfitted with everything you’ll need for a fun and relaxing vacation. The lake was incredibly warm - we spent most of the days in the water due to the uncommon mid-90’s weather. The house also cooled off at night. There are 2 kitchens and we used both. We hope to return next summer.
So happy you enjoyed your stay. You had a beautiful week and you are such wonderful and gracious guests! Please join us again, we'd love to have you!
Gorgeous lake house
This is a phenomenal lake house on Square Pond. The house is in brand new condition with everything you need for a perfect summer vacation. Perfect for large families, as we were, or for two families to share. There are two floors. The first floor has 2 bedrooms (each with their own patio),a bathroom w/ washer & dryer, living room and its own full kitchen with sliding doors that open to a beautiful lake view. The second floor has a master bedroom with its own bath, lav with washer & dryer (yup...2 washers and dryers), a grand living room with a spectacular view, and a kitchen with the largest most spectacular sit-around island, and a balcony. Add TVs in every room, a huge pantry, a nice beach, dock, raft and a fire pit complete with a supply of dry wood and there is nothing else you need. The owners were so nice and great to work with. Best summer stay anywhere, ever. Thanks Suzanne and Mark!
What An Incredible Location, Inside and Out! A++ Getaway
While just my husband and I stayed at this home for a little getaway, I can see how this property would work well for a trip with our young-adult children and their partners. The first floor can be deemed the "kid's zone" and the 2nd floor, the adults'. All the finishes and furnishings in this home are what you would expect in a permanent home. LOVED having a gas fireplace and filtered water/ice in the refrigerator door which I do not have at home! We were lacking for nothing.
It did rain most of the time we were there, but none the less the lake was still beautiful and ever-changing ... fog on the water, rivers of current and rain on the surface, loon parent and baby interacting within feet of the dock, camp fire set up provided by property owners. There is a canoe for use which we took advantage of when it was not raining. It was a great way to see more of the lake. [People with difficulty walking on non-level ground (elderly or small children) may need some assistance getting to/fro the beach as the home is set up above the beach (perhaps a 12' grade change across pavers through bark chip section shown on the back side photos and then a more gradual slope to the water).]
We entertained some friends and cooked dinner together. Again, everything we could have needed was within reach. There were plenty of games, puzzles, WiFi, cell phone and radio reception to keep us entertained through the rain. We had selected this home over an older "traditional camp" and with the rain, we were glad we had. It was a spectacular setting from which to watch the rain and remain comfy and cozy. Nice covered decks upon which to read and eat, sheltered from the elements. Enjoyed an early rise on the non-rainy day out on the dock with a book. It was so relaxing!
I loved interacting with the owners as they are both very nice, warm and gracious hosts. We are hoping to return as a family of four plus next summer.
Square pond is a wonderful lake with plenty of water activities to enjoy. Well known for it's active water skiing community, there is a slalom ski course available. Loons enjoy swimming directly in front of the property and an eagle's nest resides on the island across the way.
