The condo proper is quite modern and well maintained. We really enjoyed the residential setting and nearby park. Being within walking distance of downtown is also a huge plus!! The property owner (John) is super helpful and accessible. The only complaint is we noticed insulation between the floors is not very robust - we endured an appreciable amount of noise a couple of nights. I would suggest requesting a top floor if you are a light sleeper. All in all, we can’t say enough good things about John and the property. This place is a real winner!! We will return next year!
Beautiful, spacious condo, with an easy walk to downtown
I'd highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Traverse City. John is very pleasant to work with and quite responsive. The condo is just east of downtown with easy access to the peninsula and an easy walk into town, while being far enough away that you avoid a lot of noise and foot traffic. The condo is spacious, enough so that three couples comfortably occupied the space for a long weekend without ever feeling claustrophobic. We had plenty of dishes and cookware to use as well, which was helpful since my family likes to cook.
My only complaint is something that anyone living in a condo/apartment has experienced: since you're on the first floor, you will hear noisy neighbors. The folks above us had a 4 year old, and while we couldn't hear them talking/yelling etc, the footsteps were broadcast clearly day and night. This is something beyond the control of the landlord, and what you'd experience in any other condo, but it's worth mentioning.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this property and I will likely stay here again in future visits to TC!
We stayed here just short of a week. The condo was clean and spacious with two full bedrooms and 2 full baths. Stocked well in regard to toiletries, dish washer soap and laundry supplies. They really have it ready to go! We found the location ideal, it's on the east end of the main drag, really close to the Little Fleet and Bubba's and an easy walk downtown. Our bed was ultra comfortable and I wish I could've brought it home. Parking was easy and our host's had excellent communication with us, everything was just right and ready when we got there. The TC area is so gorgeous, and this condo puts you right there with excellent amenities. Will most definitely stay here again!
Spacious condo with great location!
This was our first VRBO experience and it was a great one! We'll definitely look into VRBO's for our next trip, and this condo specifically if we are back in Traverse City. There is a park just next to the condo, great for our 4 year old. There is a beach and small park right across the street, though with our 4 year old and 7 month old, we had to bring enough stuff to the beach we just chose to drove (check out Bryant Park locally and Haserot beach near Mission Point!)
Location really was great; it was a short walk to the downtown area, full of restaurants and breweries.
The condo itself was nicely decorated and had plenty of room for all of our stuff. Much better than the hotel alternative. The owners include nice amenities too, like Netflix/Sling TV, coffee, and wifi. Beds were also very comfortable. Definitely recommended!
Very clean, well stocked and close to downtown
We loved staying here. John was very reaponsive and polite. The condo was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!
Great location, but really disappointed in overall cleanliness.
I had been so excited about this VRBO. The photos looked great and I loved the bright colors. Within minutes of our check-in, we started noticing less-than-desireable cleanliness of the condo. I messaged John shortly after to let him know that the cleaning lady was not doing a great job. Our first impression (and unfortunately, our LASTING impression) was not good. The kitchen tiles were really dirty. I could tell the floors throughout the condo had been swept, but not mopped. Our feet and socks were filthy at the end of each day there. The refrigerator wasn't cleaned and had stains/spills. There were many things we noticed that were just dirty. The disposal switch had food splatters, the green wall at the end of the bar counter had food (or coffee?) splatters, the light switches and kitchen cabinet knobs all felt dirty, the bathroom decor had thick layers of dust on top, etc. It looks like the housecleaner does a surface clean, but nothing to really clean or sanitize in between guests. It made me really question the overall cleanliness of everything- were the sheets and towels really clean? How long since the toilets had been cleaned? I took it upon myself to clean several light switches and wipe down the green dresser and nightstand in the first bedroom when we got there. Spending almost $1,000 for three nights, I should not have to wipe down things just to settle in for our stay. I did message John right away and he was nice and apologetic and even left a voice message. I appreciated his quick response, but was still disappointed in the end. He refunded us $40 for a cleaning fee. Both bathrooms need renovating- they felt like we were staying at a cheap motel. The washcloths were thin and dingy white. The entire condo needs a deep, DEEP cleaning and a new paint job. The white trim (along the floors) are all marked up- even in the bathrooms and in the dining area (so I know this isn't caused by suitcases). Also, I would have loved some luggage stands- the walk-in closet is getting trashed from people putting their suitcases on the wire shelf. I gave this VRBO 2 stars instead of 1 because of a few factors: the location (close to downtown, but still in a nice and quiet neighborhood), designated parking spot, the king size bed, and having a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again, nor would recommend to anyone staying in the Traverse City area. This condo has such potential, so it's very unfortunate.
Although I did notice that 100% of your VRBO guest “Reviews”, including other owner’s properties, are negative, I do thank you for your constructive feedback, and for the few things that you praised. For those items that are actionable, we will immediately rectify them, to include ordering luggage racks, professionally steam cleaning the floors, and we actually have it in the plans to add a new coat of paint to both bedrooms and bathrooms this next fall/winter, when we can allow the paint to properly dry before guests stay. I am sorry that we didn’t meet some of your expectations, and I thought that we had settled at ‘making it right’ when I refunded some money, immediately addressed your concerns, and called the cleaning company. We will immediately address the things mentioned to provide our future guests a great stay!
