About Joyce LaVoie
My dream to own a tree house now includes my desire to share it with others. I enjoy meeting people, especially those guests who bring their grandchildren. We share a fire on our patio, serving the best S'mores! My unique story of how it came to be is shared, along with the visits from CBS Nightly news and Jason Davis, On the Road...Unusual places to stay.
Joyce LaVoie purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Joyce LaVoie chose Reynolds
Our tree house lets you experience the quiet of nature, wild flowers and wild life. We have a variety of books, games and stories we share with our visitors. That special bottle of wine, when empty, gets a reserved spot in the outhouse decor. Along with a special cork placement
What makes this Cabin unique
Your trip Up North takes only two and a half hours from the metro area, is easy to find and offers unique Amish shops, antique shops, and local Mennonite grocery and meat selections of the finest around. Your free 'Go Out on A Limb' t-shirt allows you to share that you stayed overnight in a tree house. It's crazy where they show up.

Great location and hospitality. A wonderful weekend getaway!
As soon as we arrived, Joyce made us feel right at home. The treehouse was very cozy and even my teenagers found it interesting. We loved the breakfast provided; and Richard was kind enough to take us canoeing down the river. My daughter loved seeing their horse and the view was beautiful. They also had a homemade Zipline that the kids enjoyed, an old time swing and hammock. The treehouse was secluded in the woods and we even were visited by a family of racoons. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place and we hope to visit again!
Thank you for the great review! I must say you were wonderful guests.
Charming! Great hosts, comfy "home", rustic decor. It was perfect.
Very relaxing and peaceful. We love that the owners share this gem with others.
Great way to bond with 3 teenage granddaughters
Loved Joyce & found Richard "interesting". The girls really enjoyed the home-made zip-line & got this 75 year old grandma to go on it 4 times. The 1 electric cord shorted out on us a # of times & we had to "find" the reset button. Four people is about the limit for that size of tree house.
Enjoyed the tasty breakfast & all the fixings for our smores the night before.
Disappointed in VRBO - some of their information about the treehouse we inaccurate!!
Perfect way to celebrate or 10yr anniversary!
Loved it, breakfast was awesome!
Quiet, clean, very cool place to stay. The hosts are excellent. I recommend this to anyone.
The candles and smell of the wood fit the atmosphere perfectly. There's plenty of space in the treehouse as well as warm blankets. It's a great place for a getaway or quiet time.
Wonderful and unique
Joyce couldn't have been more welcoming! We felt very taken care of but the treehouse is definitely private and quiet
Enjoy wildflowers and wild life in a pristine wooded acreage located near the Long Prairie River. Quiet, primitive one-room treehouse. Weekend movies at one of the Minnesota's only drive-in theaters!
